There are way more things to like about the car than to hate. The adaptive cruise control in its current setup is going to cause a rear end collision the way it suddenly breaks around curves.
I think android auto/apple CarPlay only works through usb cable. And there’s a specific USB port for it, with a different symbol on it on the centre console facing the passenger

hi there Ross (and others)... The rear mechanical parts are quite right dimensioned, but you have to get the load adjustment valve on the rear axle checked IF you think the brakes are not adequate. But first thing is to get the car on a brake test stand in empty configuration .. and then in loaded configuration (five sacks of 50 kg sand over the rear axis, 2 in the trunck and 3 sacks on the rear seat .. then 2 sacks on the front passenger seat and one person in the drivers seat to brake ..) and get the readings from both tests .. I'll try to get the values from GWM for you. Seat: Yes point taken but I did a 45 min test drive (again) just yesterday and driven before and had no problems with missing pivot of the seat .. have to say. I'm sitting in the highest position if possible (6 feet tall) slight bend left knee with my left foot on the foot rest and then adjust the steering wheel accordingly so that my stretched out left hand wrist is resting on the top of the steering wheel without moving the left shoulder off the back rest .. left arm close to level horizontally. Perfect driving position for me. Guess it is a matter of 'getting used to' .. Cruise Control: Guess you are driving in "Adaptive Cruise Control Mode" with "Intelligent Cruise and Traffic Jam" activated. Then you have "Lane Departure Warning", :Lane Keeping Assist", "Lane Center Keeping", "Pre-collision Warning" and "Emergency Braking" turned on too and that is kind of the musketeers principle .. "One for all, all for one" you can't shut down single systems. On top of that you have the "Cornering Brake Control" and "Brake Assist" too so .... if the LDW, LKA and LCK detects you're on the way out of lane and steering wheel is moved to a side to adjust the CBC is saying "slow down, you start turning" .. a mix of too much taking care I guess. The "Pre-collision warning" is trying to keep safe distance so thats the slow down to 110 km/h if you "rear end" somebody .. *You can deactivate it all by a very light tick on the brake and get normal "human" control back .. if necessary get the rear brake light switch adjusted to activate a tiny bit earlier, as that is controlling the off function of the cruise control system.* Camera system: Turn off all the beep in setup .. l didn't find any distinguish of moving and standing still in the setup reg. moving sensor reaction. Could be a recommendation for GWM to make an update Safety belt: You found the work around as I could read Spare Tyre: Guess it's the way of life .. politics has said, it is more important with battery pack than spare tyre .. it goes for the 4.5 mill. THB Volvo XC90 PHEV too and even there you have to buy a tyre patch set too. VW, Ford, etc. had that option for years now saving weight .. a little 12v compressor and a patch set it more lightweight than a spare tyre ... Air conditioner/climate control: *that is a serious issue* that has to be looked at .. could be oil or level sensor fault at the pump .. faulty pressure switch .. etc. Maybe an update of aircon module SW? Power ass. steering> Yes agreed .. it is too sensitive or too "gibberish" .. an update? Android Auto: Update / activation .. it is mentioned as a feature so they have to fix it. I'm seriously thinking about selling the Volvo XC90 and the Honda Jazz and get me a Havel H6 PHEV .. 200 km on battery would cover my short range, start stop driving in town and HEV driving on long haul .. l don't need any racer anymore just a "save and sound" ride. Actually the XC90 with it's 2.5 metric ton can do 6.25 to 7 L/100 km in average 2 persons and baggage. They say the PHEV is around 5 L/100 km? I am just a little scared of the value drop (seen 2022 H6 HEV dropped 25% !!! nothing extra ordinary doing it like very high milage or so ... in fact a 2022 white H6 HEV with 6300 km for 1 mill. !?...)
I lost my first H6 in a flood after 6 months. 10 days later I purchased my second H6. I am not concerned with it devaluing. I drive my cars until they die. Even with all the things I did not like I still like the car. I have made some tweaks to the seat. Figured out many of the the things I hated. But the one thing I wish I had was the spare tire. 2 weeks ago I clipped a sharp corner and created a 2 inch sq hole in the sidewall. No patch was going to fix that. I had to have the car towed to a tire store to get new tire. If I had a spare I could have saved the 2 hours waiting for truck and the 3000K baht towing fee. I did get reimbursed from insurance, but still had to pay cash at time of towing. I was lucky it happened during the day and not after hours. I would have been stuck over night 2 hours from home. Still think they could have moved the 12 volt battery to the front and put spare in the rear. Thanks for the information on the brakes. I think visually they should be bigger even if they don't need to be. I looked at a few different PHEV cars. For my driving, the PHEV is not a good fit. If you use the car to drive to and from work everyday and its less than 200 KM round trip, the PHEV is the perfect car for you. My driving is usually longer. Many of the places I drive to, do not have chargers. If I were to purchase a true EV, I lean heavy to the BYD Otto 3. The car has a great look and price
You plugged your phone in the left hand USB port? I did a testdrive and iPhone/CarPlay only works when plugged in the USB port on the passenger side (here in Thailand)
For the small amount of complaints on the car, it's still a fantastic car. I have added side rails, which has kept the dirt out from inside the doors. Replaced the front and rear shocks. That has made a huge difference in handling. Had firmware updated, now Android Auto works both wire and wirelessly. Added a steering wheel cover which has cut down hand fatigue when driving long distances.
I figured that out after I made the video. Never had an auto parking break before. I still prefer the manual parking brake. It would have helped when my first H6 died in a flood. I was in a tight spot. Took a tow truck over 1 hour of slowly moving the car. We resorted to putting the front end on the carriage and the back end on the hydrolic jacks with wheels and slowly pulled, it out. All 4 wheels were locked.
Some of your points are kind of suggestions for future improvement rather than issues, for instance, the car seat adjustment, and spare tire. The safety belt issue does make any sense, have you talked to the dealer? There are tons of Haval H6 reviews, but no one mentioned the seat belt issue. But thanks for sharing.
Seat belt issue I figured out. Did not know about the automatic parking brake when making video. 4 months with the car, I still enjoy driving it. Still think it's one of the best looking cars on the road. Last night a black H6 passed me. With dark window tint, the car looked so good.

Hi. Bought my H6 here in Rayong 3 weeks ago. I can drive without safety belt. Don’t know if there is any setting for it but it definitely does work. Totally agree on the beeping when you stop at a traffic light and those dozens of motorbikes pass your car. Freaking annoying. The front brakes do around 70% of the braking, the rear just 30%. This is due to there being more weight load on the front than the rear especially in a braking situation where the vehicle momentum effectively pushes that vehicle weight forward. That is why years ago you had most cars with front discs and rear drum brakes. The drum brakes were inefficient compared to discs but as they were on the rear of the vehicle it didnt matter that much.
Haval Driver here in Australia: 1. for safety reason? not an expert on this. 2. I mean it would be lovely if they have that 3. There is a fix update, call your dealer to see if you can get an update 4. Agree. Too sensitive, but you can set the sensitivity via system 5. just press the parking button down, when you don't want to put the seat belt on, you can move your car. 6. I like the sport mode too. 7. In Australia we have a spare tyre and free road side assist included. 8. Guess its the hot weather in Thailand, they should definitely fix that. 9. We got android Auto with cable connection for AU model. To be honest I find Thailand version's UI looks better.
Hello, I think is ok, all is under usability, only think I wander is the seat belt and the aircon issue. The rear break is ok, too big and is to strong on braking it can be dangerous... I am Malaysian, my Haval is coming in Dec 2024. Thank you for sharing.
For me Havel H6 use for 6 months 1. No memory seat. 2. Annoying warning sound when traffic jams. 3. Manual air purification system (PM2.5). 4. Sound coming from outside and road. 5. The lights in the car should be able to change color. 6. The voice command system should be able to do more. 7. Brake pedal with accelerator pedal too close. 8. The chair is too short and doesn't fit the thighs. 9. The driver's armrest should not be white. 10. Automatic wiper The drizzling rain will work very slowly.
I agree 100% on point 5. My wifes MG can do 256 colors. The sounds drive me crazy in the city. If I drive in Bangkok, it's beeping forever and taking my map off the screen to show bikes around me.
Hi Ross, great vid! One question: I noticed the red ambient lighting on the dashboard, do you find it annoying or do you enjoy it? I tried to find out if there's any way to either change the colour or turn it off completely, but I can't find anything... what do you think? Could it be the 11th thing that you hate?
I’ve not seen anyone do night time wet weather demo. Last night I drove my haval hybrid on a 5 hour trip in stormy weather with poor road conditions and reduced visibility, for the first time. I found the glare off the screens also affected visibility. I ended up covering the drivers screen with a cloth which helped. I’ve yet to figure out if or how to dim the screens, I find they are too busy and intrusive for night time driving. However, having said that, I drive long distances and get a lot of comfort and pleasure from the driving experience.
I have not had that issue. I drive with Google maps up in Night mode so it always shows darker. My steering wheel blocks most of the main screen. There is setting to dim the display. I have yet found dimmer for the interior red light on dashboard
Most of these complaints are "features" in most other cars. For example, giving a warning that a pedestrian has approached the vehicle when stopped is a very important safety feature, so you do NOT run them over. Definitely not something to complain about. ALL cars have weaker brakes in the rear as weight transfer puts more pressure on the front brakes. Some smaller cars only have drum brakes on the rear. Most cars have solid rear disks with ventilated front disks. A stupid complaint.
As a potential buyer, I have two things that worries me: (also, i’ll buy the petrol) The seat adjust issue( thinking i’d use a loose wedge shape cushion for my long legs?) The lack of buttons and all to be controlled by screen. Can one use voice control for all functions, say like the temperature or strength of fan ?
You can set 2 buttons on the steering wheel to be anything you want. Like hotkeys. On my right side I have the AC control and left for driving modes. I removed the seat, dropped in 2 washers to give the seat a more comfortable angle. It was very easy to do. Since most of the settings remain the same all the time, you will not have issue with master control.
I have bought 2 of them if you have watched other videos. Like everything in life, nothing is perfect except in death. The good things on this car make up for the things I hate. But foe the price point, I cannot expect more. The H6 is still far and away better than other cars in its class. Especially when you start adding all the included features.
The Andriod Auto gets resolved in May with a firmware update. I have a new smaller list of quirks with the car. The add on kick to open back door can be opened when my dogs walk under the car if I left car unlocked. I would suggest not adding the feature. Save yourself the $100
I think the issue of AC is irritating. Other problems have solutions and many are not considerable. Like you can place a spare tyre on your own. You can put a dummy seat belt hook for those 20 ft distances. So that you may not work extra. Lol. Which you don't want to do. Lol
The Android Auto issue is weird. In my market, South America, All Havals come with Apple Car Play and Android Auto from factory. Furthermore, the look and feel of the infotainment system in the Latin-American market is completely different. I don't know why they included a completely different software in your market.
Thanks for the information. It is weird how different markets have different layouts of the infotainment. I would have thought it would be less expensive to have 1 design, but with many languages. Just like Microsoft Windows.
Under braking all the weight shifts to the front tires, putting big brakes on the back with no weight would cause a very easy lock up which is why they are never the same sizes on any car. Can agree on the cruise control increments, but more so the speed limiter only going from 1-10km/h over is outrageous. Give me that in 5km/h increments instead. Find it interesting your interface is on the right side where it belongs in a RHD car, mine in South Africa is on the left which is a massive stretch. I actually quite like the safety belts functionally and their related moans. 😂 Also use Sport mode for steering, it just feels much more 1:1 in response. Strange you don’t have Android Auto, surely that’s just a firmware update away. Did you plug it into the opposite (passenger side) USB port? That’s the only one where my CarPlay works. That being said your interface on both screens is entirely different to mine.
There have been at least 5 firmware updates to the car since I first purchased. So many of the things I complained about are now resolved. It's been over 2 years and I still love driving the car.
About the safety belt when you go to open your gate, shouldn't you be able to avoid the belt by just pressing the brake and then press down the parking brake button one time? I don't have haval but works for all cars I've driven. About sensors beeping on standby, i think I have seen on haval Facebook groups that you can turn it off, worth checking out the menus again. Anyways, nice video, hope you keep posting some more, thinking of maybe getting haval too
Happy to report AC issue went away on its own. I figured out the safty belt parking brake issue. You don't want to drive with your belt off. The car keeps binging at you, stereo volume is kept low.
We just bought the little brother. The Jolion and can’t find one dongle thing that’s bad. Love every aspect of the car. Seems to me this guy is just bitching bc he can.
There are many differences between the 2 cars. The Jolion has not had 2 firmware updates in 5 months. The Jolion has been around longer and has worked out many of the bugs. The H6 Hybrid is brand new model. I have other videos saying what I do like. I have this car almost 90 days with no buyer remorse. But, I cannot just represent 1 side and be objective.

I believe all 3 models of the 2022 H6 are HEV. I have not seen the 2.0 engine available in Thailand. The HEV gets great fuel economy and has nice power.
Just because it's documented does not change how I feel. I had a sidewall incident 2 months ago. No fix a flat was going to repair a 2 inch hole. If there was a spare, I would have saved 4 hours waiting for tow truck and repair shop. For the price of the car a donut spare with jack would have been nice.
Put the car in one pedal mode and then you don’t need to brake much anyway!! But it’s annoying you have to put it in one pedal mode every time and you can’t do it when moving!!!
After almost 2 years with the H6, I love it. Gets killer KPL, Has great speed, very comfortable seats after I made a slight modification. Android Auto syncs right up as soon as I get in car. Many of the things I hated have been fixed with software updates or just learning how the car works. Its been maintenance free. My only complaint today, I should have gotten better quality tint on the windows. The heat on the front glass can make the AC work very hard.

@@rossinrayong632 I'm doubting on it as it just arrived to Mexico in September 2023 so still a very new car here
But Ross the rear brake calipers are always smaller than the ones in front in most cars.
Yea, I have been told by many. I think larger calibers would look better
Learning something new all the time. Hope you enjoyed the video
Haval Driver here in Australia:
1. for safety reason? not an expert on this.
2. I mean it would be lovely if they have that
3. There is a fix update, call your dealer to see if you can get an update
4. Agree. Too sensitive, but you can set the sensitivity via system
5. just press the parking button down, when you don't want to put the seat belt on, you can move your car.
6. I like the sport mode too.
7. In Australia we have a spare tyre and free road side assist included.
8. Guess its the hot weather in Thailand, they should definitely fix that.
9. We got android Auto with cable connection for AU model. To be honest I find Thailand version's UI looks better.
Aussie here too. Does the HEV H6 have a spare in Aus?
I thought it was the law to have one. Along with a fire extinguisher
This hybrid has no spare tire in Aus i believe
Hello, I think is ok, all is under usability, only think I wander is the seat belt and the aircon issue.
The rear break is ok, too big and is to strong on braking it can be dangerous...
I am Malaysian, my Haval is coming in Dec 2024. Thank you for sharing.
If Malaysia pricing is like Thailand, you will spend 20% less for the same car.
Hi pls try android auto on the left side usb port. Only that detects android auto via cable
After updates from GWM, my andriod Auto works wired and wireless
Wow great to hear.. cheers
For me Havel H6 use for 6 months
I like the red light. When I have people in the car, they comment on how cool it looks.
Connect your mobile with wire from left opposite to driver side for Android auto
Bit late mate. This has been resolved long ago with firmware updates
@@rossinrayong632 thanks for the tip. I got the dealer to show me where to alter the lighting. Problem solved.
Good review. I personally don't like steering assist. Hope you get answers and solutions seems like a great car. Yah like a physical tire also. Thanks
I hope soon they have Android auto figured out. Otherwise, I will get a cheap iphone.
@@rossinrayong632 How is the handsfree mic ? Many online complain that it is not clear enough.
Overtime I have figured everything out. Thanks for watching
Do all haval h6 have the same air con problem?
Not yet
hello, how to consume real HEV.... thanks
If you are asking about fuel economy, highway driving 7 l per 100 km, have not done enough city driving yet to get good numbers
@@rossinrayong632 14 liters petrol vs 7 liters hybrid very nice.... thanks
Supposed to get 19 km per liter combined. Best for me so far is 14kpl. 80% high speed driving so far
1.5 or 2.0
2x4 or 4x4
@@e_b_2024 1.5 turbo front wheel drive.
Thanks for your comments.
The cruise control cornering issue is a headache for me. Any work around yet?
Stop using it. I had to give up on it. Or smash the gas when I know it's about to slow.
Is there an issue with the cruise control?
Not since the many firmware updates to resolve
Android Auto only works if you connect via the USB on the right-hand side
With the new update it also works wireless. Mine works great now.
@@rossinrayong632 oh that's great, im looking at leasing one through work I the next few months
As a potential buyer, I have two things that worries me: (also, i’ll buy the petrol)
The seat adjust issue( thinking i’d use a loose wedge shape cushion for my long legs?)
The lack of buttons and all to be controlled by screen.
Thanks for your review. If you want to sell your nice Haval in 2 years please let me know. Cheers from Berlin

Why did you buy it???
I have bought 2 of them if you have watched other videos. Like everything in life, nothing is perfect except in death. The good things on this car make up for the things I hate. But foe the price point, I cannot expect more. The H6 is still far and away better than other cars in its class. Especially when you start adding all the included features.
Oh, man... Thank you!!!
The Andriod Auto gets resolved in May with a firmware update. I have a new smaller list of quirks with the car. The add on kick to open back door can be opened when my dogs walk under the car if I left car unlocked. I would suggest not adding the feature. Save yourself the $100
Agree about the seat adjustment.
There has to be a way to adjust
funny thing is why did you get this car in the first place?
I liked it over many others
I think the issue of AC is irritating. Other problems have solutions and many are not considerable. Like you can place a spare tyre on your own. You can put a dummy seat belt hook for those 20 ft distances. So that you may not work extra. Lol. Which you don't want to do. Lol
There is literally no room for spare tire in the boot.
That would make sense
in australia we get a spare tire, battery under front hood (bonnet)
False that’s the petrol version this is the hybrid with a hybrid battery under boot area
Try connecting phone via USB to get Android Auto
Under braking all the weight shifts to the front tires, putting big brakes on the back with no weight would cause a very easy lock up which is why they are never the same sizes on any car.
Can agree on the cruise control increments, but more so the speed limiter only going from 1-10km/h over is outrageous. Give me that in 5km/h increments instead.
Find it interesting your interface is on the right side where it belongs in a RHD car, mine in South Africa is on the left which is a massive stretch.
I actually quite like the safety belts functionally and their related moans. 😂
Also use Sport mode for steering, it just feels much more 1:1 in response.
@@rossinrayong632 aaah that’s good to know that they keep up to date and actually make changes over time. Can’t say that for most other manufacturers.
The 90s called and they want their hairstyle back....
Everything comes back in style eventually
As long as it's only the hair style and not the "90's brain style" coming back . it's OK ...
Anyways, nice video, hope you keep posting some more, thinking of maybe getting haval too
Btw, I'm curious about the passenger seat. Can you adjust the height?
You cannot adjust height on passengers seat.
I have tried a few things with the safety belt issue. I have appointment next week to check my AC.
@@rossinrayong632 Thanks for answering, keep us updated about your car, hope they solve the ac problem!
I like no gadgets full hands on I am the gadget.
Good luck with getting used to the car.
Its a process. I have about 20 things I just love about the car. That video in a few days.

I believe all 3 models of the 2022 H6 are HEV. I have not seen the 2.0 engine available in Thailand. The HEV gets great fuel economy and has nice power.
Not much braking is done at the Back
Tx..i might wait to see the new model 2022 coming up..
All documentation on this model clearly states that there is no spare tyre.
Why u buy it?
Because it was still better than every other car in its class. More bang for the baht
Put the car in one pedal mode and then you don’t need to brake much anyway!!
But it’s annoying you have to put it in one pedal mode every time and you can’t do it when moving!!!
I really started to enjoy driving in one pedal mode
Did you get an English manual? my dealer sent me one.
Yes I have it.
Use a genuine Samsung cable and it solves your Android auto problem FYI
With most recent updates, it works 10 seconds into the car
Thanks, mate. I was going to buy one, but not anymore.
Can it be shipped to Bangladesh?
No idea, You would have to reach out to Great Wall Motors in China
All BMW have no spare tiers either. It's more of their design ideology
There should be a option for a real tire. Get a slash on the sidewall. No fix a flat is going to fix that. Thanks for watching.
