I *also* live in a very hot & dry part of WA state and your review was so helpful -- I thought I'd be 105 but ended up being 115 (fair neutral olive). It layered really well with their new Creature of Light illuminating serum. Looking forward to trying the concealer they just dropped too :)
@@katrinaknizek I haven't used this foundation in over a year. Maybe it's time to pull it out more often. 😳 I hope that you enjoy this foundation and get good use out of it.
I recently ordered the Rituel de Fille 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation in the color Potion 135 - light medium with neutral undertones. I was going to compare it to the Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Dewy Foundation Drops in the color Atelier III - light medium with golden undertones, which is a pretty good match for me. Multiple influencers were singing its praises and I wanted to check out the coverage for myself. Although the coverage was a little bit more with the 3 drop foundation…. the color difference was huge! I typically try to buy neutral foundations and the 3 drop foundation wasn’t even close. It was orange on my skin. The color didn’t even come close to the dewy foundation drops coloring. I wish I could show a picture of just how different it was. I didn’t find the color to be for light to medium skin with neutral undertones. It was for a darker skin tone, to me. I also think it might have been what was causing some breakouts, but not sure? I tried mixing it with another foundation that was lighter, but the color was just so wrong that I had to send it back. However, I did like the packaging and the three drop application. I’m glad you mentioned the samples because that is what I will do the next time I place an order. I ordered my foundation from another website and not Rituel de Fille. I will definitely look into that… thanks! Have a great day! 😀
I'm glad that they have the option for the samples. A subscriber mentioned to me that the brand did that when I was placing my order. (at that time, they weren't offering samples of the new foundation, but I'm glad to have gotten a email mentioning that they've created some and offer a $10 off price of a full foundation) I think it's smart to do that. I wore this all day yesterday, and at the end of the day, my skin looked so pretty and glowy. I hadn't combo skin k oily in the t-zone) and my skin loved this. It wasn't too much glow, and didn't look oily at all. I haven't tried the a westman aetelier, but I'm more likely to try the foundation stick than the serum skin tint/foundation that the brand released last year. I didn't notice if the RdF website has a return or exchange option for their products. I try and buy as much of their stuff through units m Ulta, but they affect caring the new foundation of any of the eye soots. I'm glad I went directly to the brands website. If they do have an exchange option, I might see if I can get shade 110. 🤷♀️ If not, I can make this work. Thanks for watching today.
🌷I own about seven Eye Soots now lol. Love them. 🎈😍☺😊😄 P.s. I use finger application mostly and pat them on versus rubbing them across the eye. This is also stated on their website. P.P.s. Those eye soots look really nice on you !!😍😍
I didn't read about application, I was too much into swatches. I was looking at all the shades trying to decide which ones to put in my sample bag. They're really such a lovely product and look so pretty on the eye. I'm going to do a one shadow look with each of them this week. I'm glad I opted for a more compact brush. I might try tapping them on as well. Thanks for the application tip. I appreciate it.
I really wanted to like this foundation...I guess I just prefer water based formulas. Could probably make it work, but it did emphasize my pores and I don't usually have a poreblem.
Yeah, I have the pore issue too. I haven't tried it yet with a primer. I normally eschew primers, but I think it's time to see if this sits better on my skin with the right primer. I'm going to try and make this shade work for me. What I did like was how natural and not overly glowy it was after 10 hours of wear. It looked to pretty and natural. The color wasn't too light after several hours of wear. Right after application, I looked a little "off." Thanks so much for watching today.
Thanks for another great video. I’ve been very interested in RdF but haven’t yet tried anything. But when you mentioned the samples deal, I’ve now decided to go for it and start by trying the 3 drop serum foundation-my light skin is similar to yours but I’m more neutral to rose/pink toned. Thank you for this information! I don’t believe any other videos I’ve seen on RdF have mentioned the samples. Really enjoy your POV and nice to see you’re feeling well enough to film - ❤❤ P.S. and as another follower asked, I’d be very interested in knowing if you got Lisa’s new Velvet Bloom lipstick - I just ordered it and can’t wait to receive!!
Yes, I have the new Velvet Bloom, but it arrived while I was feeling really ill. I'm still not 100%, but good enough to get back to my filming schedule. I think I might be shade 110. I wear many of the same foundation shades as Kackie Reviews Beauty, and she's 110. If we're similar in tone, check to see if she wears any of your favorite foundations, and in what shades. It might be helpful to know what shades to order from the brand. They weren't offering samples of this fountain when I ordered. Only the cream foundation/concealer. I think I would've picked up the samples first if it had been an option. I'm glad they started doing that. It's a nice fountain, and wore beautifully yesterday.
I tried the RDF in 105, which was close but a little ghostly on me. But unfortunately I had trouble with it settling into my pores and breaking up over a few hours on my nose and chin. Powder made it worse. And I could feel it on my skin, and it made me feel itchy. So sad, because I bought it before they started offering samples. I've been mixing it 1:2 with Lisa Eldridge's 2.5, and it's a good skintone match, and it behaves better, but honestly I still don't like it. So I got a bottle of Lisa Eldridge shade 1 to mix with the 2.5 and now my face looks like it belongs on my body. Shade 2 was giving me pink face! I am probably going to try the RDF in the winter, just in case it works better then ...I do tend to be drier in winter. If not, I hope to find it a better home.
I have a sample of LE 2.5 I still need to try. I currently use 2 and it's the closest match in my collection. I'm going to mix this RdF foundation in 105 with a darker foundation. I liked the way it wore. It wasn't too glowy on my skin at the end of the day, but I could tell it was a serum foundation. I like it, just not the shade match. I don't think I can return/exchange this on the RdF website. I'm officially stuck with this shade. I hope it does better in the wintertime. I had problems with this settling into my pores, and corners of my nose. I only powdered the nose, under eyes and forehead. I didn't notice that powder made it worse. When I placed this order, RdF wasn't offering samples of this new foundation. A week after this arrived, I got an email telling me they were offering samples and a $10 credit towards the purchase of a full sized bottle. I think it's the best way to find your shade. I'm going to keep trying this, and see how things go. I'll report back in a few weeks. Thanks so much for watching today.
@@studious_nonchalance I love a light weight, finely milled powder. One I love from the drugstore that's not going to break the bank is the elf halo glow loose powder. It is a bit radiant, but I like that about it. It's not too much, but just enough.
Have had my eye on those RdF eye soots for a while now (half-light specifically!) and am definitely curious about the 3 drop foundation too. The one thing that has deterred me from ordering other products is the lavender scent some people have mentioned - could you speak to the fragranced/not fragranced aspect of the RdF products you have so far? I have sensitive skin and can’t really do lavender even in its natural EO form on my face. Always appreciate your reviews!!! Curious to hear if you have ordered LE’s Velvet Bloom yet, too, and if so, I hope you’ll show us how it fits into your LE lipstick collection… 😉 💄 🙌🏻
Yes, Velvet Bloom is on my desk, and I'm planning on filming a comparison video this week. It came while I was feeling really terrible, and didn't have the energy to film. I find there to be a light herbal scent to the cream cheek products. It was faint, but discernable. Same with the eye soot. (Walks to vanity) After going to my makeup desk to sniff everything, yes, it's lavender. 😥 I'm sorry. I feel like the cheek products have the heaviest scent, then the eye shadows, and there's very little scent in the bottle of foundation I have. Truthfully, I didn't notice the lavender scent. It's strange because I have the largest corner patch of lavender by my front door. It's so fragrant I usually expect lavender scents to knock me over. These RdF products don't. They seem lightly fragranced. It's not like walking by my lavender patch or using a lavender soap. I don't have sensitive skin, so don't run out and buy these products based on my assessment, but I didn't find the scent to be too overwhelming. Perhaps they've pulled back on how much essential oils they use in their formulations. 🤷♀️
@@thelipstickgal, I so so hope you are feeling better! And thank you so much for sharing your impression of the RdF scent - I think I'll order some samples to try eye and foundation. How does this foundation compare to Lisa? If like they are dupes when I hear people describe them and I don’t need both of they are. Or do I need both. Please help. Xox
