Once a month i mix 2 foundations, a green colour corrector, and a grey-ish bb cream, with a shimmery product and use that as my base until i run out and mix a new batch. The struggle is real!
I don’t have rosacea but I’m red on olive…super cute! Have you tried the Purito BB? It’s really affordable and I swear, it’s amazing. Lasts forever, no fragrance, it’s so good!

While I do like it a LOT, I feel like I have to be careful with how I apply it- too much will definitely settle into my fine lines. I need to matte it down a bit with a good setting powder.
I apply this foundation by putting two drops on the back of my hand and blend it with a brush. If I need more coverage, I add one more drop. I go over it with a damp sponge at the end to make it look more seamless. I have such a hard time with foundations and this has been a big win for my dry, mature skin.❤❤
That mascara wand from Surratt looks identical to the original metal wand design! The first metal wand with the grooved threading was invented by Helena Rubinstein in 1957, making it post-tiny-brush, pre-spoolie. 😊 It seems like it was a big hit when it was introduced; a lot of other brands followed suit shortly after. I’d be interested in trying out a mascara wand like that, it seems so unique. However, I’m a spoolie brush girl 100%. I don’t know what it is about the spiky brush or comb types, but I seem to always scrape my waterline or poke my eyeball whenever I’ve used them. And I just really don’t appreciate that, you know? LOL
I actually just purchased the surratt lid lacquer a few weeks ago, knowing it would probably crease and I also have very oily eye lids , but I just had to try it. I found that if I use an eye primer , dust some eyeshadow in the crease to ground it, put a light layer of the surrat on with a brush , tap out with finger to obsorb excess , and then lightly tap some translucent eye topper on top of it, it actually lasts decently on me all day- which is nuts for my oily eyelids. It’s not perfect , and creases slightly but not anywhere near as bad as I thought it would, or had I not taken those additional steps to set it up for success . Any little creasing I was easily able to tap out with my finger mid day and it looked great. I found even with the light powder eyeshadow on top to “set it”, it still had a beautiful wet look peaking through . I have the champagne shade (forgot the name). Hope this helps!
Ok, I love that I picked up Aperitif a few weeks ago when it relaunched for summer. (I'm obsessed with it) My Rituel de Fille foundation is arriving tomorrow. I'm so excited to see if this same shade works for me. I ordered 105, and now I'm worried it might be too light. I haven't had success with the Lid Lacquer from Surratt. It was too emollient for my eye, but I'm also a decade or more older than you. I had the lavender grey shade, and I loved the shade and the glowy look, but it always creased. My lids have texture to them, and it just didn't work for my makeup aesthetic. I'm super interested in KW cheek products. Those shades look incredible! Thanks for trying all these in the same video. It's so interesting to see them all together.

I was wondering if you will/plan to do a video for someone getting into make-up later in life: basics, choosing a foundation/eyeshadow/lip/cheek for a neutral, natural look. I also have Rosacea, adult acne with olive tone where the white cast of Native sunscreen makes me look best, but it is ghostly. As another fellow pale person with rosacea and VERY dry, eczema-prone skin, I recommend only 1 - 1.5 drops of the RdF foundation with the RdF Thorn Oil applied as primer and a green color corrector.
Even though others would have a different preference, Hannah is my favourite person to review Ritual de Fille. If I see that brand in the thumbnail I get so unnecessarily excited.
I am impressed by Hannah and those of you who continually try out new complexion products. In my quest for a cheaper alternative to my perfect Bareminerals complexion gel, I acquired an assortment of complexion products. I absolutely hate trying them, and I can never keep track of which combinations and techniques work with which. Lol I finally found a decent deal on bareminerals and on an acceptable alternative, I won't be trying anything new until I have to! I'm still trying to figure out how to use up the "trial" products i bought, it honestly just makes me frustrated. So, I really appreciate the reviews and irl makeup lovers who can give great reccs to those of us who dont pay attention til our hero product is discontinued. Lol it's just all goopy stuff to me lol... I just need a piggy bank so that every time I almost talk myself into a 40th lippie or 20th palette, I put the cash into the BareMinerals fund 😂 but now I'm wondering....is there something even better at $25-30 (I just cannot pay full retail on principle lol)...ugh gonna go mix up a bunch of goops and call it a face...
I hope Rituel de Fille sees this video and reads the comments from people who are really glad they didn't put the lavender scent in this. I can't use essential oils on my face anymore because they trigger an allergic reaction. This video was super helpful. I would like to see it compared to the Kosas maybe at some future point? They seem like they fill the same niche to me...Really excited that you got to try the lid lacquers. I wonder if they would set down less patchy over concealer set with powder? Maybe you would lose their ineffable quality then?

While I think you may experience the RDF foundation as more silky and supple without the surrat primer - I can’t help but wonder if the primer would be ideal for underneath those lid lacquers 😊

I wish I wasn't poor. There's so many products I want to try lol. The loreal age perfect serum foundation is one of the only ones that doesn't break me out. I have rosacea too. Nars sheer glow, missha bb cream are the others I like. I want to try the new Revlon illuminance
The Rituel de Fille's foundation looks very intriguing (and well presented by you, Hannah. Thank you.), and I have had my eyes on their eye soots, but I just don't wear foundation on a day to day basis so won't be spending my money on this product, Merit is not readily available in the UK but no doubt Sephora will in time bring it to us. So many people have been very positive especially about their lip products.

I was super excited about the ritual de fille foundation until I saw it has rosemary in the ingredients … I know essential oils and things don’t bug everyone, but rosemary is that one ingredient that can really bother someone’s skin, especially mine with rosacea
i’m 45 and have always been seeking out a perfect foundation and Rdf gave it to me finally. color and undertone. i think you can get away with less than 3 drops for real skin but better coverage! so lightweight too.
I've been using Inner Glow for awhile now and it is such a great shade! Totally agree with you tho - formula-wise, I prefer the matte Kjaer Weis blushes. Inner Glow is just such a special color for me that it's hard to put down. Glad you got to try it!
That merit red lip looks incredible! I'm super interested in the rdf 3 drop more now than ever! The fact that it's not scented has me. excited! I've loathed that lavender/linalool scent in their products for years 😢

Great video!!! I love the 3 drop foundation. As someone with super dry skin, I use the thorn oil or Bobbi brown makeup base with it and it works very well! For glossy lids that stay.. better? (They’ll never be perfect long term) the Danessa Myricks coverfix with their gloss is great. It still creases at your crease but it’s not a greasy mess. I wear it often for shows and it lasts all night.
That shade of the RDF looks a little bit light on you. Have you ever considered using a dropper by putting it on the back of your hand and then using your finger to dot it all over your face? I have found this is the best way to apply this as well as any other liquidy products. I feel like no one on RUclips has figured this out yet.
I have the RDF foundation in 110 and it’s fairly neutral. I’ve only used it twice so far but am struggling with it on dry patches. Dry skin seems to pop out in spots I didn’t even know I had. I’m definitely going to try it with a damp sponge because I think the rubbing with my fingers might be making it worse. I definitely don’t need 3 full drops, 2 drops spreads and covers well.
This happened to me as well ! I really like it so far but literally thought I’d actually gotten something sticky and dried on my face but nope just a revealed dry patch . I like it though so I will try a damp sponge as well ! Or maybe a more moisturizing primer . Rn I just use the smashbox green primer

Thank you for your truly enjoyable and helpful content! 🥰 I have similar coloring to you- very fair, desaturated, a hint of olive, with redness all over. (The redness struggle is *real.* My face and neck are the worse, but I can scratch an itch just about anywhere, and leave behind big ol’ red streaks, lol.) I’m trying to not overspend on cosmetics anymore, but I did recently get a few things you’ve tried out on your channel. The Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream in #21, the L’Oréal Prime Lab Redness Eraser, and the L’Oréal Colour Riche lipstick in Le Beige, and I love all 3!!! The Missha shade #21 is the best color match I’ve ever found so far, I still can’t believe it! It basically disappears on my skin, in a good way! I’m loving the Redness Eraser: it really tames the unwanted ruddiness that loves to populate the center of my face, lol. (Why can’t it just be on the apples of my cheeks instead? Why the center?? LOL) And the Le Beige lipstick shade is a triple win for me- looks fantastic on my lips, cheeks, and eyelids!! I’ve been on the hunt for something like this for a while, so I’m excited to have found it!
I have one of the surratt lid lacquers and I have hooded lids. As long as I keep the layer very thin, I have been happy with how it performs. It lays down a fairly pigmented somewhat satin looking eye. Wear time is maybe 3-4 hours. After that it starts to interfere with mascara, etc. I really like it’s appearance though.
Are you going to review the Surrat dew drop foundation? I looooove that foundation but I'm super curious how it compares to the Rituel de Fille foundation since RDF is so much cheaper. :)

I own a couple Surratt Lid Lacquers (one of which is also Komugi (koh-MOO-ghee)) and the trick is to wear a primer/cream eyeshadow/eye pencil underneath and apply thin layers, specially in the crease. But yeah, like you said, this is an editorial product, and it's supposed to crease. That's the look. For an excellent example of how to wear it I recommend Lisa Eldridge's recent mid 90's makeup. ;) PS. The other lacquer is pronounced koh-GEH-cha.
I have excessively oily lids and I love the Lidlaquers from Surratt. I have every color but the red. They dont last and they crease but I still wear them all the time and love the look and just add more or let them crease

Maybe it's my skin chemistry, but that RDF foundation broke up horribly on my chin and nose, did not set without powder, powder made it look worse though and it settled into my pores and lines. No matter what I put under it. I really wanted to make it work, though! So, I mixed the shade 105 with Lisa Eldridge's (whose formula works well on my skin) shade 2.5 (the pale olive which isn't pale enough for me), and it's great! Perfect skin tone match at last!😂 Tbh, when I run out of the RDF, I will probably pick up the shade 01 in Lisa's to mix with. For reference, I have 51 year old skin, combination, and live in the hot and muggy climate of Memphis TN. If I lived in a drier climate, maybe it would work better? I am impressed with it's pigmentation though.
Another great video! These are so dangerous; I always watch because I love your enthusiasm and honesty and I wind up with at least three things that I absolutely, positively, have to try. If you weren't so committed to conscious shopping you would be in danger of being an inducement to cosmetic overload.
I find the best way to apply 3 drop foundation is 1 drop at a time-dividing each drop among cheeks, chin, forehead, nose; then I blend and repeat a couple more times.I have rosacea on my nose and cheeks, and doing it this way, I don’t always have to color correct. Three drops all at once, I was applying more than I needed while not covering what I wanted covered. 😊 Addendum: I just remembered you’re a week away from that application. 🥴
The end look was so beautiful and I'm realllly tempted by Merit Aperitif (raspberry colour also sucks for me!) but I have to admit I did have to pause the video to CACKLE when you called out the foundation beard
I am a big eye gloss wearer; I love a glossy, creasy eye gloss, but some eye glosses wear (read: crease) more cutely than others. I have tried many formulas, and unfortunately the surratt lid lacquers are some of the worst eye glosses I've tried. They really don't stay in place and gather in the crease in a really unappealing way. I've had better luck putting on a shimmer powder shadow all over then putting a sheer eye gloss on top. My hypothesis is that there is not really much shimmer running through the formula (including kogecha, the more metallic one, which I've tried)- I've found that eye glosses with larger shimmer particles wear better because the gloss and shimmer support each other- as the gloss wears away, the shimmer remains and leaves a gloss-like sheen on the lids that is easy to tap out (similar in effect to the roen shadows, which I love) Sorry for the infodump, I love this category of makeup the majority of makeup wearers hate LMAO but I wanted to confirm that even a resident eye gloss buff didn't get along with the lid lacquers!
@@remediosbelle Rituel de Fille celestial sphere eye glosses no question HAHA If you have fair skin/like wearing a peachy beige, I think their eye gloss in Apis is a killer beginner eye gloss. My only complaint is that I don't think it would look as cute on someone with deeper skin, so I really hope they make a richer brown shade someday. I also really like Cygnus, which is a recurring character limited edition shade that comes back into stock here and there. I also like the byredo color sticks in Great Sands, Demerara, and Flower Play. Those are nice because if you hate them on the eyes, the format makes them easy to wear on the lips. Honorable mention to the Roen quads; they're similar in effect/vibe to the RDF glosses. but honestly, a great way to try the look is to put on a layer of a sparkly eye shadow then put a clear gloss on top; it is super easy to do without spending money or spending very little, and you can tinker with the ratios to your preference. I think eye gloss is an incredible look but it is SUPER polarizing, so I'd recommend trying out a homebrew first before dropping any cash :)
RDF has just added an option to purchase a set of three color samples. I ordered the three lightest shades. Was expecting 100 to be closest, but it is a tad too pink. 105 I was expecting to be too yellow but it's almost a perfect match, maybe just 10% too yellow so I may get the full size. Need to test how this wears in sweaty NYC humidity.
We have a very similar skintone but completely different skin type and preferences, it's so frustrating when you recommend a foundation because it has a great pale neutral shade but I just know that if you like the formula I'm going to hate it 😅
I just LOVE the Surratt Lid Lacquer. But I have it in the most safe colour HADAKA. It creases at first but it's not a problem becaust the color is close to the color of the lid. After I fixed it on a first crease it holds pretty well all day giving a little pigment and a beautyful sheen to the lid. As someone who also loves to just put some vaseline or clear gloss on the lid, I can say that Surratt one has some definetely different qualities - more stable I would say.

If you want an actual glossy lid *with* colour, I highly recommend Danessa Myricks Color Fix in your preferred shade and then using the Color Fix Gloss on top of it (you can use it on its own too). It has been the less creasy editorial glossy eye that I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried some things. Depending on the colours, some don’t crease at all (I’m thinking of the yellow, for instance).

I hope Rituel de Fille sees this video and reads the comments from people who are really glad they didn't put the lavender scent in this. I can't use essential oils on my face anymore because they trigger an allergic reaction. This video was super helpful. I would like to see it compared to the Kosas maybe at some future point? They seem like they fill the same niche to me...Really excited that you got to try the lid lacquers. I wonder if they would set down less patchy over concealer set with powder? Maybe you would lose their ineffable quality then?
The serum drops have rosemary extract in it :( if you’re allergic to essential oils, I’d be careful with this one

While I think you may experience the RDF foundation as more silky and supple without the surrat primer - I can’t help but wonder if the primer would be ideal for underneath those lid lacquers 😊

I wish I wasn't poor. There's so many products I want to try lol. The loreal age perfect serum foundation is one of the only ones that doesn't break me out. I have rosacea too. Nars sheer glow, missha bb cream are the others I like. I want to try the new Revlon illuminance

The Rituel de Fille's foundation looks very intriguing (and well presented by you, Hannah. Thank you.), and I have had my eyes on their eye soots, but I just don't wear foundation on a day to day basis so won't be spending my money on this product, Merit is not readily available in the UK but no doubt Sephora will in time bring it to us. So many people have been very positive especially about their lip products.
The look is beautiful! Aperitif turned very orange on me vs the true red on you. I actually found it very similar to some of the sheer Gucci reds.

I was super excited about the ritual de fille foundation until I saw it has rosemary in the ingredients … I know essential oils and things don’t bug everyone, but rosemary is that one ingredient that can really bother someone’s skin, especially mine with rosacea
i’m 45 and have always been seeking out a perfect foundation and Rdf gave it to me finally. color and undertone. i think you can get away with less than 3 drops for real skin but better coverage! so lightweight too.
I've been using Inner Glow for awhile now and it is such a great shade! Totally agree with you tho - formula-wise, I prefer the matte Kjaer Weis blushes. Inner Glow is just such a special color for me that it's hard to put down. Glad you got to try it!
That merit red lip looks incredible! I'm super interested in the rdf 3 drop more now than ever! The fact that it's not scented has me. excited! I've loathed that lavender/linalool scent in their products for years 😢

Great video!!! I love the 3 drop foundation. As someone with super dry skin, I use the thorn oil or Bobbi brown makeup base with it and it works very well!
For glossy lids that stay.. better? (They’ll never be perfect long term) the Danessa Myricks coverfix with their gloss is great. It still creases at your crease but it’s not a greasy mess. I wear it often for shows and it lasts all night.
That shade of the RDF looks a little bit light on you. Have you ever considered using a dropper by putting it on the back of your hand and then using your finger to dot it all over your face? I have found this is the best way to apply this as well as any other liquidy products. I feel like no one on RUclips has figured this out yet.

I have the RDF foundation in 110 and it’s fairly neutral. I’ve only used it twice so far but am struggling with it on dry patches. Dry skin seems to pop out in spots I didn’t even know I had. I’m definitely going to try it with a damp sponge because I think the rubbing with my fingers might be making it worse. I definitely don’t need 3 full drops, 2 drops spreads and covers well.
This happened to me as well ! I really like it so far but literally thought I’d actually gotten something sticky and dried on my face but nope just a revealed dry patch . I like it though so I will try a damp sponge as well ! Or maybe a more moisturizing primer . Rn I just use the smashbox green primer

I have similar coloring to you- very fair, desaturated, a hint of olive, with redness all over.
(The redness struggle is *real.* My face and neck are the worse, but I can scratch an itch just about anywhere, and leave behind big ol’ red streaks, lol.)
I’m trying to not overspend on cosmetics anymore, but I did recently get a few things you’ve tried out on your channel. The Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream in #21, the L’Oréal Prime Lab Redness Eraser, and the L’Oréal Colour Riche lipstick in Le Beige, and I love all 3!!!
The Missha shade #21 is the best color match I’ve ever found so far, I still can’t believe it! It basically disappears on my skin, in a good way!
I’m loving the Redness Eraser: it really tames the unwanted ruddiness that loves to populate the center of my face, lol. (Why can’t it just be on the apples of my cheeks instead? Why the center?? LOL)
And the Le Beige lipstick shade is a triple win for me- looks fantastic on my lips, cheeks, and eyelids!! I’ve been on the hunt for something like this for a while, so I’m excited to have found it!

I have one of the surratt lid lacquers and I have hooded lids. As long as I keep the layer very thin, I have been happy with how it performs. It lays down a fairly pigmented somewhat satin looking eye. Wear time is maybe 3-4 hours. After that it starts to interfere with mascara, etc. I really like it’s appearance though.

I own a couple Surratt Lid Lacquers (one of which is also Komugi (koh-MOO-ghee)) and the trick is to wear a primer/cream eyeshadow/eye pencil underneath and apply thin layers, specially in the crease. But yeah, like you said, this is an editorial product, and it's supposed to crease. That's the look. For an excellent example of how to wear it I recommend Lisa Eldridge's recent mid 90's makeup. ;) PS. The other lacquer is pronounced koh-GEH-cha.

I have excessively oily lids and I love the Lidlaquers from Surratt. I have every color but the red. They dont last and they crease but I still wear them all the time and love the look and just add more or let them crease

Maybe it's my skin chemistry, but that RDF foundation broke up horribly on my chin and nose, did not set without powder, powder made it look worse though and it settled into my pores and lines. No matter what I put under it. I really wanted to make it work, though! So, I mixed the shade 105 with Lisa Eldridge's (whose formula works well on my skin) shade 2.5 (the pale olive which isn't pale enough for me), and it's great! Perfect skin tone match at last!😂 Tbh, when I run out of the RDF, I will probably pick up the shade 01 in Lisa's to mix with. For reference, I have 51 year old skin, combination, and live in the hot and muggy climate of Memphis TN. If I lived in a drier climate, maybe it would work better? I am impressed with it's pigmentation though.

If you weren't so committed to conscious shopping you would be in danger of being an inducement to cosmetic overload.

Have you seen Alexandra Anele's video on mixing blush with foundation to tone it down? It desaturates the blush and creates the most beautiful color.
I find the best way to apply 3 drop foundation is 1 drop at a time-dividing each drop among cheeks, chin, forehead, nose; then I blend and repeat a couple more times.I have rosacea on my nose and cheeks, and doing it this way, I don’t always have to color correct. Three drops all at once, I was applying more than I needed while not covering what I wanted covered. 😊

The end look was so beautiful and I'm realllly tempted by Merit Aperitif (raspberry colour also sucks for me!) but I have to admit I did have to pause the video to CACKLE when you called out the foundation beard
I am a big eye gloss wearer; I love a glossy, creasy eye gloss, but some eye glosses wear (read: crease) more cutely than others. I have tried many formulas, and unfortunately the surratt lid lacquers are some of the worst eye glosses I've tried. They really don't stay in place and gather in the crease in a really unappealing way. I've had better luck putting on a shimmer powder shadow all over then putting a sheer eye gloss on top.
My hypothesis is that there is not really much shimmer running through the formula (including kogecha, the more metallic one, which I've tried)- I've found that eye glosses with larger shimmer particles wear better because the gloss and shimmer support each other- as the gloss wears away, the shimmer remains and leaves a gloss-like sheen on the lids that is easy to tap out (similar in effect to the roen shadows, which I love)
Sorry for the infodump, I love this category of makeup the majority of makeup wearers hate LMAO but I wanted to confirm that even a resident eye gloss buff didn't get along with the lid lacquers!

If you have fair skin/like wearing a peachy beige, I think their eye gloss in Apis is a killer beginner eye gloss. My only complaint is that I don't think it would look as cute on someone with deeper skin, so I really hope they make a richer brown shade someday. I also really like Cygnus, which is a recurring character limited edition shade that comes back into stock here and there.
I also like the byredo color sticks in Great Sands, Demerara, and Flower Play. Those are nice because if you hate them on the eyes, the format makes them easy to wear on the lips. Honorable mention to the Roen quads; they're similar in effect/vibe to the RDF glosses.
but honestly, a great way to try the look is to put on a layer of a sparkly eye shadow then put a clear gloss on top; it is super easy to do without spending money or spending very little, and you can tinker with the ratios to your preference. I think eye gloss is an incredible look but it is SUPER polarizing, so I'd recommend trying out a homebrew first before dropping any cash :)

RDF has just added an option to purchase a set of three color samples. I ordered the three lightest shades. Was expecting 100 to be closest, but it is a tad too pink. 105 I was expecting to be too yellow but it's almost a perfect match, maybe just 10% too yellow so I may get the full size. Need to test how this wears in sweaty NYC humidity.
We have a very similar skintone but completely different skin type and preferences, it's so frustrating when you recommend a foundation because it has a great pale neutral shade but I just know that if you like the formula I'm going to hate it 😅

I just LOVE the Surratt Lid Lacquer. But I have it in the most safe colour HADAKA. It creases at first but it's not a problem becaust the color is close to the color of the lid. After I fixed it on a first crease it holds pretty well all day giving a little pigment and a beautyful sheen to the lid.
As someone who also loves to just put some vaseline or clear gloss on the lid, I can say that Surratt one has some definetely different qualities - more stable I would say.

Post-video, I disagree with your thought the look is wishy-washy-it looks beautiful! Like, if I just saw you in a different video wearing this same look, I’d think it was your normal, gorgeous makeup, probably using your usual products
If you want an actual glossy lid *with* colour, I highly recommend Danessa Myricks Color Fix in your preferred shade and then using the Color Fix Gloss on top of it (you can use it on its own too). It has been the less creasy editorial glossy eye that I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried some things. Depending on the colours, some don’t crease at all (I’m thinking of the yellow, for instance).
