Received my custom fitted JPX921 tour irons last Wednesday . They replace my MP18 blades because those have graphite shafts and I wanted to go back to steel shafts. Tested several clubheads from different brands and it came down to Mizuno MP20 mb, Taylormade P7MC and Mizuno JPX 921 tour. Tested those again on trackman and on course with the demo iron. Chose the tour because they gave me a bit more forgiveness than the MP20 blade on slight toe misses and were almost as soft feeling as the MP18 and balls still traveled a good distance on a mishit. Great dispersion and turf interaction on course! Keep my MP18 blades with graphite shafts for times when my joints give problems but for the other times JPX 921 tour in the bag😎 great review and it’s obvious for me also these irons have a big 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

So I just got fitted and landed on the titliest T100. The apex pro felt the best when hit right. Didn't care for the p770 and the jpx 921 sel I would say is for mid to even high handicap, it's hard to hit them anything but consistently straight, which is why I landed on the t100 because they are easier to work, distance was consistent but much easier to draw or fade. If you're just looking for straight the jpx 921 tour or sel for lefties is a great club

I’ve got the sel edition which is 6 to gap in tour and 4 and 5 in forged. Only played 3 rounds but loving them. I play off 12 and I don’t find them to difficult

These are blades that look like blades, feel like blades & perform like blades but with that little extra forgiveness.
If you have clubs that have been strengthened (eg Cobra, TaylorMade and Callaway) expect that the number on the Mizuno club to reflect traditional lofts. If you like to fade or draw the ball into a flag you’ll love these.
I’ve had my set for about a month now and they are great. You do need to consistently find the centre of the club face to get the most out of these. I went for the JPX921 forged in the 6-4 iron.

did you bend your combo set at all? if so, what did you bend them to so you ensured good gapping.

@@myopenmind527 ok. I got the same combo as you and I just bent the forged 4-6 1 degree weaker on each. Will test them out and ensure gapping is good. May need to make the 7-pw in the tour 1 degree stronger but will test out first. Thank you for replying though.

On order with Dynamic gold 105-Stiff shafts. Excited to see how these perform. These will hopefully kick my trusty MP-4's (the most beautiful irons and not as unforgiving as you would think!) to the curb.

Yes they are a great rest club. Though in my late 60s and currently gaming the apex cf19 previously the p760s, infested the 7 iron on the course for several individual rounds consecutively of many clubs, amongst them the srixons zx7; p770; p7mc (felt great much like the p760s); cobra forged Tec; and many more - having also had a fitting for the pxg gen 3s. Compared to my apex I much preferred the jpx921 tour/sel (forged not made in leftie) with a nice feel and flight and predictable distances and much reduced dispersion. However waiting to test the new apex pro 21s soon which if good might move to as a combo set. If pxg gen 4 comes out then I will grab the gen 3 as feel, performance etc the best of the lot and outdoes the jpx.

Nice review format! Did you ever review the JPX 921 Forged? Got fitted for them the other week but haven’t pulled the trigger just yet.. The 921 Tours was nice too, but found them just a bit too punishing on miss hits. Also have you tried the Mizuno Shaft optimizer 3D? My feeling was it wanted to put me in much heavier and stiffer shafts than I would imagine myself swinging.. hit them well during fitting but one should be able to for 18 full holes at least. Just interested to hear if you have any experience? Thanks! (Subscribed).
