One tip that I have that can help, is force flipping the spawn of you can't get to the B flag. Me and a team of people were down some points in the last round and they had the cut offs really old with getting to the be flag, so I had to flank them and force the spawn to flip and it caused them to get out of wack and we took the flag and won by one point. I wasn't sure it would work and it took me a couple deaths but it worked and I think that it's a good thing to know.
You forgot the scenario. .."what you do when half (or more) of your 'team' isn't capping anything"...they're just playing TDM in Dom? I run into this most often. unfortunately I play solo...so there's that...
+Christian Haffner Same principles apply, it's just going to be a lot more difficult. Secure Map Control, Cap the B flag, hold the B flag. I know it's easier said than done when you have useless teammates but that doesn't mean you can't work to do this.

It will probably focus on getting the B flag. You will inevitably lose a home flag, and it is a decent opportunity to secure B.
that wouldnt even be that bad, as it will be easy to take map control when teammates are focusing on killing the enemys, it starts to get really annoying when they are sitting back in your spawns with lmgs getting 4 kills a game

I'm so glad I watched this! I just started playing domination and I'm one of the noobs who flips the spawns! I actually thought you were supposed to get all 3 flags! So to all my previous team mates in those lobbies, I apologize for that and I've got an idea of what I'm doing and I'm onto it now!

Ace you seriously have CHANGED my game soo much. I went from a negative player to above average in tdm and now I'm hoping to take on objective play. Nobody on RUclips holds a candle to you when it comes to indepth info and insight. You are the best brother.
Agreed I used to be average and only go straight positive and never even get UAV's and now I can get cerberus and good streaks all thanks to him, hopefully soon I'll be getting wraiths or H.A.T.R.S and than some objective play

When the game starts and all of your team runs straight for the oposite home flag instead of B off the start, just leave the game, you're playing with noobs.

This was the best Dom commentary that I have ever heard. Would you believe, I've been playing CoD since WaW and I have only played Dom maybe a handful of times. Always been a straight KC, TDM or FFA player. Recently, I've really become burned out so I thought I'd try out game modes that I always skipped over. I'm trying Dom now and with very limited success. Glad I found this vid...you explained it perfectly.
I haven't tried it yet, but these tips are insanely amazing. I used to really hate Dom. , but now, I won't ever stop playing. thanks for the tips, I appreciate them!
I Love The way you Play. It's so statisfying to See someone Play The objektive. Nearly 90% of my teammates just go for Kills and don't give a fuck about Domination
Combat focus is dope. Wait until its youve got a neutral point almost fun and fire that thing up for a double points. Odds are youll snag the flag plus there will be enemies running to counter that flag that you can pick off. Ante up, Combat Focus and a couple kills will bring your wraith and other power streaks in, in no time at all.
But when not running Focus using your Super Shoes (overdrive) is a great 2nd ROUND starter. You can reach their choke point before them and allow your team to move up behind you to snag B as well.

This was super helpful man, ty! I'm brand new to CoD in general, only had Black Ops 3 for a month or so, and Domination has been my favorite game with an objective. However some games I noticed the flow was what I expected and others it was just all over with enemies coming from seemingly random places. Now I know why; I have to admit I've been a "capture all flags at any cost" kind of guy. I'll try changing it up and see if my experience doesnt become more consistent.
Fantastic strategy! Nothing is more frustrating than trying to hold the B flag while the spawn sites are constantly Flipping. Focusing on map control is much more effective than the total number of captures. Your video is well organized and offers great insight. I look forward to liking more of them! Subscribed.
I certainly would have given advice for the initial contest for B, the risk rewards of rushing immediately versus hanging back for the initial kill of their first wave. Some people have dedicated rush classes specifically for the initial capping of B using things like Tactician with Trophy Systems AND Smoke with Ante Up to get to a certain streak quicker, and than play with a normal class the rest of the time.
I would also say that if you do have map control that it can be beneficial to have someone as a "behind the scenes" role. By this I mean hang back primarily in areas the enemy will not go through and focus on survival and anti-air. Be someone dedicated to shooting down UAVs and CUAVs, and get a majority of your points from defends by making it seem safe for an enemy flanker that tries to upset by capping your home flag. If you're always close to it in proximity, you can very quickly dispatch him for more points as a defend kill.

Every time I Join domination i get on a team losing 40-180 and raps and. Wraiths and getting spawn killed
ikr this isn't domination but today I joined a late tdm game and we were losing 19-80

As far as tactical, I LOVE using smokes when capping objectives. Sure the enemy can throw a thermite on you or blind fire and get lucky. But if you smoke it out properly and lay flat on the ground, typically they will either ignore you and shoot at your teammates or become disoriented, allowing you to cap the objective. Plus the UAV cannot detect you when in smoke so it is good even defensively
12:40 I found cerberus extremely good as well because I sat near the b flag while controlling the cerberus so no one could cap it! Also awesome tips

Hey bro iv'e been watching your videos on bo3 for the past few weeks and i am such a better player than i was before so keep up the good work and you deserve more subs ;)
Smoke grenades are really powerful in BO3. Especially on Dom. When your enemy is in the smoke they lose their radar. When you are in the smoke you don't appear on radar, even with a UAV up or if you're shooting. You can pop it right on the flag, or you can use it to cover lines of sight and make enemies have to move from power positions in order to see.
situation 3 is wrong when you are triple caped go for a B push and get B cause the enemy splitted
Everyone who dies while capturing B will automatically spawn on one of the Homeflags and those are easy to capture since the enemy team is split and will spawn on the other side of the map.
This will bring you back from a 0-3 to a 2-1 scenario turning the game around. Its the same when someone flips the spawn and you only have your homeflag,dont go for the enemy homeflag, just flank B from behind.
The team who controls B will automatically get a homeflag overtime and is in a favourable scenario after it.
My Win/loss in Domination is 8.33 (500ish games) with only having a 1.61 kd
1 Scenario you did not mention is flipping the spawns to get a favourable side when you are in the lead (you should have a uav in the air and only defend B and push enemy spawn with 2 guys) or flip the spawn to get your team out of a spawn trap (when you only have a homeflag) and split the enemy forces
+TeamFaO The only problem with this is people like me will defend B with our lives in this situation and your team will be split as well due to spawns. It's much easier for one person to defend a flag than for one person to attack a flag with no map control.
I find it's usually better to settle your spawn down first by capping a home flag, then pushing with your team for map control, rather than pushing alone into an unknown situation at a disadvantage. IF I have other teammates pushing for the B flag in this situation or I feel there's an easy opening then yes, I'll go for B, otherwise I's prefer to play it safe and smart.
+TheXclusiveAce even a 1 man or 2 man flank can (and mostly will) give your team the advantage in the fight for B Since you attack the back from a former save map part and will push the enemy from B. If you try to take the enemy homeflag the moment of surprise is over since the announcer will tell them. And if you get the enemy home flag they will get yours (nearly impossible to defend 2 homeflags at once) cause the spawns will flip and you will have 1 flag after this.
If you die pushing B you will respawn with your team and you will be on your old homeflag or respawn again on the enemy flag if the spawns flip fully. so you basically loose nothing except those 10-15 points while trying to get into a winning situation. the risk is minimal but the gains are huge.
Its basically the same you tell the people at situation 4: hold B at all cost. Spawns will settle themselves overtime anyway.
btw: why shouldn´t your team not attack B, its the only thing (except special strats) to do when you only have 1 flag

I feel that flipping spawns is also okay in the sense that some maps have a preferred side. Most maps are pretty well balanced but there is almost always a side that is easier to fight from.

Great video. Missed one of the biggest tips though, communication with the rest of your team. Dom is easy if everyone is on the same page.

The only tip I can think of is that gravity spikes are extremely effective in domination. If you see that your enemies are capping or defending a point all you have to do is spike the point. The range is large enough that you clear most if not all enemies and usually rack up several kills as well as placing you on a now cleared point for capture. Specialists are really up to the individual but since I almost exclusively play domination I've gone through most of the specialists and Ruin's Gravity Spikes are typically my specialist of choice for domination
Try to get overlook positions on the B flag rather then just capturing the flag is the way I play. I rather get a power position and let my team capture it picking off enemies trying to get to the B flag. I like the camo on ur gun as well.

15 min to explain what I did yesterday in few words on your other vid. But I'm glad u made this coz people don't know how to play domination ha.
For a specialist i would recomend the spectre: if I'm getting spawntrapped i like to use it to Flip the spawns by just passing their players and then going in theirs and kill anyone i see spanning there so we get a new homeflag there for we can try to regain mapcontrol
that strategy only has one flaw: when the enemies have to go through me to get to b flag... i get killed XD just kidding awesome video!
I find smoke grenades helpful on the B flag. With all the buffs to them, smart players who know what's going on will not get on because they don't have a mini map, while newbies won't hop on because they cannot see.

I find smoke extremely useful in dom. You can throw on a flag before capture attempts OR thow into enemy lines of sight
Use the rolling thunder to force enemies into another direction. Example. Your opponents are capturing B,(outside B flag always). Move your rolling thunder into a spot that'll if they capture B then they'll retreat into they're area or are forced to enter your territory to be taken out by teammates, those who don't move explode. From there B is exposed for you to take. Problem with this, If someone uses the scythe on the rolling thunder.
i like to rush into the enemy spawn with an smg right after the start in order to distract the enemy team. For example on nuketown i would ignore the homeflag at thr beginning and let my teammates capture it then sprint quickly into the enemy house on nuketown to make some noise with my weapon so enemys will try to kill me whilst my teammates can easily take control of the almost emty map
Best scorestreaks specially for domination are Guardian, Lighting Strike (by far the best) , Hardened Sentry, Counter UAV, UAV, HATR, and RAPS.

A strategy that i try to use with randoms is while we have our home flag only, i tell team that i am going to get on their home flag and while im there for my team to push for map control on b or to jump on b to cap while the enemy comes to deal with me at their home flag. it works sometimes....

I've found the HC-XD wreaks havoc on the other team it makes their spawn less secure and keeps them on edge.

been playing which a bunch of randoms who had no idea what map control is and flipping the spawns completely, all it did was feed the enemies points all game, and everyone went negative but me, so frustrating because as a solo player you have no control at all over it, especially when the players can't even get over 10 kills in a full game of domination -.-

Definitely agree with everything. What seems to throw a wrench in everything is non-objective players, especially on your team, running around randomly and idiotically trying to play TDM. Need to find some solid players to party up with.

I think in a pub game, it's hard to stop the spawn from flipping. which like you said screws us over a lot of the time. Do you have advice for the general rhythm of the game in a public game? Like the timing of spawn flip, when to actually go for B capture. etc

Sure... a/c are a free 50 points, but if you run to a headglitch by b, you can pick up 2 or 3 kills and then cap b, which can be 500 score or even more in the first 30 seconds. Bam, Uav. Ever wonder how people get a uav within the first 30 seconds of a game? Thats how they do it

Hey Ace, what's your opinion on using C4 to defend a flag? I used this so much in Ghosts because it allowed me to camp one flag knowing that I could blow the C4 if the enemies jumped on the other. This became even more useful in the large maps because it took so long to move round.

great video for me, I've made the mistake before just because of ignorance on my part. just now getting back into playing some dom. I like to run a launcher for air control also. I saw you doing that in the video, but I don't think you mentioned the value of teammates running support.
Gravity spikes are great for defending flags.

The intentional spawn flip is something I'd like to see you discuss, I notice you never do on your how to domination videos so maybe as a better player than me you prefer the buffer zone theory that you covered in this video. For us mere mortals though I find it can change a game around when the enemy has got B on lockdown, my team mates are all doing that lemming thing and as a team we're getting nowhere. The status quo is great when you're winning but not when you're losing so in that situation I will often sneak my way over to their home flag and capture it, flipping the game and making it less predictable for the enemy. Knowing when to do it is key though, flipping spawns is often the last thing you want to do but can change a game if done right.
+Pete Johnson This is something that can work and I do this sometimes but I'm careful not to encourage this too much cause it is very situation dependent and if done wrong, it can just make things worse. I've had times where I finally got that map control around B and it's the perfect time to capture it but my teammate is in the middle of trying this maneuver and it flips spawns and ruins the control I gained. I've had other times where I've taken the time to go for this spawn flip only to die and waste a full minute or more of game time that could've been spent making multiple pushes for control around B. More often than not, this will happen to the average player; they'll push for the flip and simply die without making any progress.
Like I said, this can work and I'm not saying it should never be attempted but I like to see it as more of a last resort after I've exhausted all of my options for trying to break their setup to gain control. Also, I should point out that this can be an extremely effective strategy if it's a coordinated, team effort and my caution is more so directed at trying this alone with no support.

I really love this game, it's actually my favorite COD so far, but there's only one thing that pisses me off in this game; Domination. I used to be really good at it, but I now I get spawn trapped and bombarded with every single thing possible and getting attacked from angles I didn't even know exist. Hell, last game I played for Dom I went 13-22, 8 caps and 3 defends. I couldn't do anything!

Hardpoint, TDM, Search, and Safeguard. Demolition is really fun too at times.
+Smittywerbenjager Manjensen It shits me that came in late, I've only been playing since Christmas, everyone is way too try hard, wish they'd have casual lobbies for people who suck... it's not much fun getting your ass kicked every game, it takes the fun out of it.
Yeah I now either do really well or the opposite in objective game modes. Yesterday in Domination I went 40-5 with 7 captures and 16 defends but lost because my entire team didn't know how to play Dom, but I consider that pretty good. Then, next game I join a different lobby since everyone left the other and I start off 1-9.

I had to switch to Hardcore because I got tired of teammates constantly flipping spawns. At least in Hardcore you usually end up with teammates that understand the point of the objective.
