    Zero doubt this boys got skills but it ain't with track selection or with originality if this makes any sense to others. I dunno, it's like the soul has been pulled clean out of dmc. Yes, no denying these guys are skilled in various ways but two vinyls on the turn tables that never swap out, no need for headphones / checks, no needle dropping, no needle slip, nothing. I watch these new age djs @ dmc always expecting something spectacular but it never happens. Craze, dexta, pone, netik etc... These are really magical to watch. Yes there are a million more but these just popped into my head.

    if you want to win the worlds you have to work on your set for at least two years...the big mistake some djs make is preparing 5 months before the battle..Roc Raida (R.I.P) said you should be able to do your routine without thinking about it..Look at Vajra he knows the routine like he knows his name..Look at Raidas 95 world set or Noize 96 world set or Crazes 2000 world set..They are not stressing at all

    All the haters on here wish they could do what you see here.Give the man some credit its hours of practice .Building a routine .and yes the sound flows more into electronic breaks and DnB etc.but listen to the build up,stops etc.If the haters have so much to say ,then maybe you should show the world your exceptional talent.Stop hating and appreciate,its less stressfull.

    • @example8
      @example8 8 лет назад

      +terrence bascom There is a difference between hating and criticism mate . Most criticism is about the build up etc . back in the days you had to tape the shit out of your records and get the pitch right with every single transition ... recent technology has made this obsolete and that's fine with me really . But where are the new ideas ? Doing what they did way back ( with some new cuts and juggles in the proces ) only easier is just lazy . It often sounds like the routine some guys always had in their heads but was never achievable until now ... and forgot about the creative process and wanting to sound unique . Dubstep didn't help obviously

    • @mrstickytheog4459
      @mrstickytheog4459 8 лет назад

      +example8 Dubstep has nothing to do with this. May I remind you what real dubstep is? Real old school dubstep? You know, the dub and reggae inspired music? Most of this shit nowadays is just classified as dubstep because they're too lazy to write the music off as brostep, or even glitch hop. the new wave of electronic shit is probably what you meant by "dubstep".

    • @example8
      @example8 8 лет назад +1

      It's Just Zac I know what dubstep is Zac ... however - as you pointed out - it's the generalisation people as a mass are confronted with and most people cant be arsed to recognise the difference . It's that crowd dj's make sets for so my point remains valid .

These battles are raw skill and have been going on long long long before and "dj software" and real "turntablist's and some hip hop dj's are some of the best dj's in the world and can spin and beat match better then most DJ's. ANd of course they can spin anything. Much respect to Vajra and the rest of the amazing dj's out there.

    Get used to technology. If used right, there's no problem. Delta blues musicians hated the electric guitar when it came out, down the line cats like Hendrix were shredding those things, and many before and after him. Of course you had to still be nice on acoustic though. Same with Dj's, one should learn with vinyl before messing with Serato or Traktor. Adapt to technology, bottom line. Big up Chris Karns! (Vajra)

    • @dlg78

      but the electric guitar didn't change the skill you needed to play guitar. with djing, it makes it easier.

    Well firstly, this isn't a mix battle and it being that most all battle DJ's use DVS now make edited tracks tailored to their set. Also,its called practice. Battle DJ's in that do this caliber of battles practice many months even a whole year prior to this big battle to perfect every aspect of their set. There will never be a DMC champion that uses auto sync,ever.

The Empath.... and a 56s battle mixer..... I do hate to admit it but the CDJ's by pioneer are a LITTLE Better at holding when Scratching all Crazy style.... just a little better than Denon.... and about the same as Technics.,.,.,.,.,.,. And of course, 25 odd years ago, I started out on SL 1200's MK 2, So, there is that.
