I think it’s amazing!!! Personally I know that after sexual abuse it’s so hard to see yourself as being attractive!!! It takes a lot of work to get to a point where you feel attractive and can like yourself again!!! For me I feel like my body betrayed me by attracting that kind of person!!!

As someone who’s gotten a dress from a program like the ones you’ve donated to because I couldn’t afford one, thank you! Nobody should go without feeling beautiful just because they don’t have the money, and it feels so good to have a dress that makes you feel confident with worrying about if you can afford it while also affording groceries and rent. ❤️

I am currently going through a rape trial, I actually testify tomorrow lol. Thank you so much for donating to sexual assault survivors! As someone who has gone through the entire reporting, kit, and conviction process, it is definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through. I'm sure any little gift will brighten their really dark journey at least a little bit. Thank you!
Update: some people are commenting almost a year later checking in on me! I am doing great now guys :) I just took the MCAT and will be applying to medical school this year. If anyone relates to my story, I hope you face it with a vigor. They may have won in court, but they will not bring us down in life. You have the amazing power to heal yourself and those around you. If you have been battling memories of rape by yourself, I encourage you to ask for help. You don't have to press charges like me, but allowing someone to validate your pain allows you to clearly define yourself as the good guy. If this happened to your sister, brother, mother, grandmother, what would you say to them? Would your words ring as harshly as the criticisms you are giving yourself? Please comment if you need to vent

I just got to the point in the video where you mentioned the charity supporting SA survivors and I burst into tears. I am a social worker and my job is to help kids get through SA. The thought of how much joy those dresses will bring just punched me right in the chest. When kids have lost so much, including autonomy of their own body and their trust in adults, they can struggle to get anything back. Having even one beautiful dress to make happy memories in, feel confident in, and celebrate in could seriously change their life. Acts of kindness fight away the darkness. God bless you. ❤

@• ᴗ the dresses are mostly not fast fashion. At least the expensive dresses not. They’re made by the designers and their workers. For over a thousand dollars of a Marodeuren dress it’s definitely not fast fashion. Yes some brands are probably problematic but I think she might see that as well
@• ᴗ Why follow and watch someone that you believe is harmful (Or doing harmful things)? You really aren't helping, what you consider to be the situation, by engaging. As someone stated above, a lot of those dresses were made by designers for their small businesses. About the ones that aren't... I believe that, because of her position, she is able to provide a service for people that can barely/only afford fast fashion. She tries out the dresses not only showing what they look like in RL but giving her thoughts on their price and condition as well as whether she thinks they are worth the price. That helps people to be able to make an informed decision so that they don't have to waste their money or worse, end up buying and returning dresses (that are sized oddly, made terribly, or so on) for them to then possibly get sold again or thrown out. Causing fast fashion to be made and then wasted unnecessarily. Just my opinion but, I believe she helps substantially more than she hurts by a long shot.

Me too, I lived with my dad around my prom time and he refused to pay for a good dress. So, the dress I bought was super cheaply made and didn't fit me. I'm so excited that these charities exist.
As someone who grew up in a really low income home, I had to go through a program to get my senior prom dress because otherwise we could not afford to even rent one from a prom boutique. I really appreciate this!! It made me feel amazing for at least one night and I know all the women and girls who get the opportunity to wear these dresses will greatly appreciate it. Love what you’re doing! The world needs more of it! Just one tip: when zipping the garment bags put one hand on the inside so the zipper doesn’t snag and ruin the dress (I was told this when I recently picked up my wedding dress). The dresses are GORGEOUS and it just helps in the preservation. Hoping that didn’t sound rude, but I wanted to mention it with you doing such an amazing thing!

I kept one I thought I’d never use again and it ended up being an awesome last minute costume for a solo at a dance competition.
Donating the dresses is a hard decision especially if those dresses has memories but for Mia it’s just a piece of cake. I really admire how she put so much effort just to equally divided the dresses. She has a big heart.

even if you don’t win I recommend you get a dress within your price range, even if it isn’t the best you could do a pretty matching makeup, accessorize it… I’d feel horrible if any friend of mine missed an event out of embarrassment :’)

I love that all these dresses are going to people who really deserve them and will appreciate them! I actually got emotional. Im a chunky girl lol so i wouldnt fit the giveaway dresses but thats ok im sure whoever gets them will be so happy!!
I am from California and entering for the purple dress! I am the oldest of three and have three cousins. Not only would I wear it to prom but my younger cousins and siblings would dream to wear the dress too. On a side note, thank you so much for making these donations! I can only imagine how grateful the charities were to have them. You are so incredibly kind and warm hearted. My sister and I look forward to your videos every week
