I own this amp and it sounds great, been very happy with it and I leave the drive all the way off and the tone controls pretty flat, unless I'm playing fretless and then I boost the mids a bit. Using two TC Electronics RS cabs, 2-10 & 2-12, but I'm thinking about getting an actual Aguilar 4-10 cab.
Hi, good information, but you could present the different tonalities and qualities of the amp with a variety of styles examples such as pick, R&B, Latin, Rock, etc.
That sounds dumb. It’s not a pedal. It’s an amp. An amp’s drive is its drive and it has knobs that control how much of it there is etc. This guy is just a horrible demoer and the stuff he was doing with the drive was not very illustrative of what the drive can do on lower settings etc
@@dogboywonder On recordings, dirty Bass is often treated in parallel. Either DI+Amp Mic, or sometimes a single source track is duplicated. One track is left cleaner where punchy low-end is maintained. The dirty track is often hi-pass EQ’d to remove the low-end which when saturated becomes sloppy and less impactful. The 2 are then blended to achieve the best of both worlds (tight/dynamic low-end and gritty mid-range). It would be nice to see more amps introduce similar options in their circuits.
Actually, I've used Aguilar gear before, and it tends to sound better in a setting with other instruments. That's probably why they didn't include a headphone out/aux in. Might not sound great by itself, but who needs their gear to sound amazing when they're jamming alone in their bedroom.
With the drive circuit set on maximum, the amp sounds like crap. I believe that the designer meant for any drive to be used sparingly to immolate tube saturation. I have heard the Tone Hammer before and it is a great sounding amp with a little tube flavor baked in.
How to make your speakers sound blown and out of tune... aguilar 700 Tone Hammer in whatever settings he had it in for the intro... 🤮 Seriously though, I don't mean to be a jerk, but a guitar tuner might have also been a good thing to have around while reviewing this thing and trying to find useful tones ahead of time for an intro might have been good too...
This guy’s demos hurt sales
Gawd damn another demo with guitars none of us have
so peavy makes an acoustic bass amp ?
Eeek that was a horrid sound at the beginning
Horrible farty fuzz.
Sonic diarrhea
It takes a lot of work to make that good of an amp sound that shitty
He’s 💯 horrible one of worse demos I’ve ever seen . He more is interested in playing his bs

I heard that the cabinet must have gotten more watts than the amp, is your cabinet 1000watts?
@@phonixsolomon6275 that’s not true
that's the real brown sound. straight out the toilet

That drive circuit would be cool if it also had a wet/dry blend knob.

I guess I'll go check out Mesa. Eeesh...
Yeah the intro tone is awful on its own, but it might sit in a full mix very well, for example blended with a DI signal.
Do your reviews with the fingers and with a pick.
Worst itro ever... lol... but good video
Someone should take a hammer to that intro tone......

Oooh, I BET you're a NASTY little boy... ;oP
Stick to your Barry Manilow then.
Ben Dover!
The whole video sounds terrible. Where’s the bottom end? Is this a Bass guitar video, or a Wanta be bass guitar wants to sound like a guitar video.🤮
What the fuck is up with that intro. My ears were throwing up

When you pay big bucks for an amp, it should not sound like ass at any setting, imo!
