Well, God knows they screwed up a lot through the years, especially during the seventh generation (Oh hi there, Final Fantasy 13). However, I personally hope for what I like to call the "Boss battle fever" of Final Fantasy 11 to be mentioned.
Also, I like two things in particular about this video (it's a good video): 1. For the horse DLC joke, you brought in Fire Brand. Idk why, I just like it. 2. The whole Bethesda-Kotaku thing was interesting, since both parties were in the wrong. Bethesda overreacted, and Kotaku were being smug jerks. But yeah. This is probably one of the few videos that I kept saying "oh no".
I'm genuinely surprised that his next Fails video will be on Square and not Activision after what happened with Nitro-Fueled. I don't want to discuss the topic in question too much, but I will say this: I don't care what people think of the practice, but I do think the way people have reacted to this is a bit... much. (Especially since the system is not pay-to-win.) There is a difference between a formal and well constructed complaint and then blind hatred out of spite... Which one do you think companies are more likely to listen to?

It helps that SpongeBob has been around for 20 years! (May 1st was their 20th anniversary on the air.) There's only a few that have run longer, and most of them are pop culture juggernauts themselves: The Simpsons, Arthur, South Park and Family Guy.
@@Wiiranger87 That was the line given by Bethesda, but according to HumanHead studios (the developer) Bethesda got pissy when the owners refused to sell the company to them and started to deliberately mess with deadlines and reduce funding for the game in order to try and put them in a situation that they had to sell the company and dropped the game when it became clear that the tactic wouldn't work. (again these are just accusations and were never confirmed.)

Hands down a great video just seeing Bethesda’s failures is just hilariously bad that it’s sad. Good list, kinda disappointed that you didn't mention their phase in the 90's where they wasted most of their money on projects that either never saw the light of day or were financial bombs. (which the debt they pilled up is the biggest reason that the owners ended up selling the company to Zenimax in 1999.)
It's funny how Horse Armor for $5 sparked so much uproar, and in this day and age it couldn't hold a candle to all the microtransactions and cash squeezers that we all have to put up with
A personal Bethesda fail that I'd like to bring up is the cancellation of Prey 2 since that game had so much promise (even if the footage that was shown was rough) but due to what has been mentioned, the higher ups at Bethesda wanted to buy Human Head Studios (who were the developers behind it) but when rejected, they pushed them to the bone with unfair restrictions and other BS which lead the game getting cancelled and later rebooted into a System Shock wannabe. Pete Hines of Bethesda said it was cancelled due to the poor quality of the game, which is VERY rich coming from a publisher that releases buggy games.
"To be fair" seem to be a running phrase. Bethesda is pretty scummy in their quality, but "to be fair" they have made memorable games, and I guess to keep the price down on some of the largest worlds in gaming to explore you need an engine you're familiar with and some bugs will get through. However, we can not forgive poor monitization, refusing to update the games and patch out those bugs, and of course all the problems with 76 that remove the modding community from fixing the game and put the team (or a less experienced group of workers) in a field they're not ready for.

I didn't like FO 4, it already was lacking. Yes, you could build a basis and seemingly do more. But it meant less. Choices didn't exist. FO 1 and 2 where all about choices. F3 had choices and effects. NV was built around the old FO style faction system. Who did you aid and who did you hence snub. But FO 4... eh... I guess I will help you? Because I can't really say NO!. I mean it, you can't say NO in the game... impossible. There is no way to say NO! in FO 4. You will do the mission if you like it or not! Yeah, not my favorite way to be treated. And FO 76... that trash fire is still burning.

Bethesda is on very shaky ground right now - basically the only thing keeping them going is the Doom reboot and its sequel. "The End" could come quickly and probably would be very painful.
@@darkfyraproductions7958 Even leaving aside the DLC overload, it's worth pointing out that Ultima Online only kept Origin afloat as a pale shadow of its former self for 4 years until EA killed them off for good. If Bethesda finds itself in a similar situation with Elder Scrolls Online, I don't expect them to last half that long!
For dark brotherhood's, yes. however in my db playthrough that I finished I got contracts from same person 3 times in a row, and killed same person in last 2 contract before I made new game.

Prevents more people putting things on pedestal (and that's a bad thing, trust me, even if it's towards a well-loved thing. Looking at you, Pokemon and Super Smash Bros and to an extent Fire Emblem). Also, there is one thing I can agree that Nintendo screwed up in the recent days: FE Fates. Gameplay's nice, but the other things that makes FE stand out got screwed... I feared that the revival of FE by Awakening ended up for nothing because of it...

My first time playing Fallout 4, I was doing that mission that you need to defend the museum from raiders and then a deathclaw shows up. The deathclaw fell into a hole and I could kill it with ordinary weapons and for a hot minute I wasn't sure if it was a feature or an accident/bug

Supposedly that was a glitch and is fixed now, there's also some workarounds on Xbox at least (I am not a PS user so I don't know what the workarounds are for it or even if there are any) if you have Doom 3 BFG edition on disc put that in and it'll install the other 2 as well, and if you can get to the store page for the backwards compatible versions of Doom 1 and 2 you can get there by selecting them in your achievements page and there should be a view in store button, you can redownload them from there.

@@darkfyraproductions7958 That's not true, actually. Skylanders was created out of a The Legend of Spyro MMO concept that Toys for Bob were working on... And for the longest time before the concept became Skylanders, Spyro wasn't even meant to be a playable character. And even if you don't believe me, what we got in the end is a LOT better one of the original ideas they had in mind: A mature almost God or War like Spyro game? Yeah, I don't think that would have been a fluent transition.
@@darkfyraproductions7958 I think Toys for Bob do deserve some of the blame for Skylanders fizzling out. They just kept pushing for the Portal of Power well past its expiration date. (It was technically given a funeral in SuperChargers; they kept it going for Imaginators when they shouldn't have.) And even then, the series was starting to suffer financially. After all, developing games is one thing... developing the figures and making THOSE financially successful is another thing entirely. I personally don't think Skylanders is done and dusted just yet, though. All they have to do is create a game that DOESN'T use the Portal of Power. But right now, all we've got is the one game on mobile devices. (All the others don't work anymore... including the one that had promise of greatness.)

The glitch that rustled my Jimmy's was the habit of Skyrim saves getting corrupted if they got too big. It was especially bad for me because I loved the hell out of the "Write It Down," AKA the journal mod, and I would often be lucky to get through the main quest lines without my save just dying on me.

Tbh, a Bethesda theme park sounds awesome. Imagine rides based on Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, etc.

I knew that the Nintendo Switch releases of Classic Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 required a Bethesda account and internet access was gonna be on this list!
Skyrim did have infinite quests. They were just awful. They were grind quests that you got after you finished a big faction quest line.
For dark brotherhood's, yes. however in my db playthrough that I finished I got contracts from same person 3 times in a row, and killed same person in last 2 contract before I made new game.

@@AzureMoebius22 I am aware of that. I consider it more like a showing that even Nintendo can make mistakes, thus not exactly 'the perfect company that can do no wrong'. Prevents more people putting things on pedestal (and that's a bad thing, trust me, even if it's towards a well-loved thing. Looking at you, Pokemon and Super Smash Bros and to an extent Fire Emblem).
Also, there is one thing I can agree that Nintendo screwed up in the recent days: FE Fates. Gameplay's nice, but the other things that makes FE stand out got screwed... I feared that the revival of FE by Awakening ended up for nothing because of it...

Bethesda stole my digital copies of DOOM 1 and 2 when they re-released them.
Supposedly that was a glitch and is fixed now, there's also some workarounds on Xbox at least (I am not a PS user so I don't know what the workarounds are for it or even if there are any) if you have Doom 3 BFG edition on disc put that in and it'll install the other 2 as well, and if you can get to the store page for the backwards compatible versions of Doom 1 and 2 you can get there by selecting them in your achievements page and there should be a view in store button, you can redownload them from there.
He's just teasing us with top ten Nintendo fails at this point! It makes me think that he'll end the year with it. But for his other two fails lists for October and November, I am predicting Sega and Activision. They've f***ed up enough to get fails lists of their own.
i feel like November should be Activision due to how often CoD releases in that month.

Skylanders was created out of a The Legend of Spyro MMO concept that Toys for Bob were working on...
And for the longest time before the concept became Skylanders, Spyro wasn't even meant to be a playable character.
And even if you don't believe me, what we got in the end is a LOT better one of the original ideas they had in mind:
A mature almost God or War like Spyro game? Yeah, I don't think that would have been a fluent transition.
@@darkfyraproductions7958 I think Toys for Bob do deserve some of the blame for Skylanders fizzling out. They just kept pushing for the Portal of Power well past its expiration date. (It was technically given a funeral in SuperChargers; they kept it going for Imaginators when they shouldn't have.)
And even then, the series was starting to suffer financially. After all, developing games is one thing... developing the figures and making THOSE financially successful is another thing entirely.
I personally don't think Skylanders is done and dusted just yet, though. All they have to do is create a game that DOESN'T use the Portal of Power.
But right now, all we've got is the one game on mobile devices. (All the others don't work anymore... including the one that had promise of greatness.)

The glitch that rustled my Jimmy's was the habit of Skyrim saves getting corrupted if they got too big. It was especially bad for me because I loved the hell out of the "Write It Down," AKA the journal mod, and I would often be lucky to get through the main quest lines without my save just dying on me.
