Thank you so much for giving us a review that was unbiased instead of trying to sell us something! We've been looking for the best shovel mount to buy and you gave us what we actually wanted to see. Well done

Had the Quick Fist for 5 years, zero issues with its grip, strength or product.

I think we're due for a walk around of the GU.

Great! Less than half price does it for me. Even if the shovel falls off or gets stolen I can just buy another shovel. Only mounting it when I go off-road.

Interesting review. We have a different type of Rhino Rack mount that doesn't need the star tightener to be fully removed. The shovel slides in from the front (or back) and is held very firmly. They are $50+ depending on where you buy them. So far they have done a good job. The only real con could be the winders getting caught on branches that come into close contact with the side of the rack but to date no real problem with that. Nice to see some of the other options available.

these are the old style, the one major flaw of this design is the flat plastic piece which bend and eventually crack between the screw and the shovel, very common faults the newer version in the video is a much sturdier better rhino design

@@emilrozkoszny3935 Yeah, we are watching those plastic pieces for any signs of cracking. The new version certainly looks robust enough.

Rhino Rack have a number of styles, i have the pioneer style one which seems to have done well so far.

I upgraded from a Rhino to a Yakima due to the speed. Nothing makes something get used more often than making it easier to take off and put back. Having taken my shovel to Cape York and back and all round Tassie since I have been wrapped with the Yakima in its ease of use and lockability and never ever had an issue with a shovel coming loose. Also not sure how you worked out pricing ? i'm guessing retail price as quoted by companies ? Want real world pricing :) Check out ebay to compare :) The Yakima ace of spades is $66 free shipping on ebay right now, Quickfirst $27.50, Front runner $80, the Rhino as reviewed is $100 or $57 for their other screw in mount (which is just as annoying to use). Keep the reviews coming, didnt even know about the front runner till i watched this.

All you need to do with the Rhino rack is loosen the star handle and pull the shovel out of the mount. Then, you don't have the metal bracket handing down towards your rig.

I'm really governed by the chief roof rack, they have designed it so you have to buy their accessories. the rhino might fit

the rhino is all metal, the others use plastic, can't see them lasting anywhere near as long
