Hey Jason its me again. I live in Texas and i just wanted to say, this video heavily motivated me. I live in the country side. I haven't trained publicly(in the city). My parents are aware anout me wanting to free run/parkour and they call me crazy they call me spiderman. And no, i want them to tell me to keep trying hard. The thing is they dont see that free running takes effort and patience. To them it looks easy but what i do i work hard at. They always try to convince me to try joining a sport team but its not what I want. Before you say anything about my parents, they dont know better. They dont talk english they have spent most of their lives in the fields working their ass off. My goal is to get a temporarily job to get them out of work. Then start a free running career and become a freerunning coach and help, train people like me that need this motivation. And the thing is, the closest parkour gym to me that I am aware of would be up north Texas towards Dallas. I live at the very bottom of Texas. I live close to the border between the U.S and Mexico. Really close. And I down myself because I have no one to train me, no one to tell me what to look out for, and no one to tell me to never give up. But when I see your videos I become happy, motivated, and excited to go outside and train. I really hope to meet my first free runner in real life to train with and hope to visit a parkour gym. I just wanted you to give me some advice and motivation to keep me going. Thx much love! Keep up the awesome content. I know it might see weird but you are my role model. Well my second one! ;) Thanks again. Sorry if this was too long. you might not even see it. Peace! :)
I just thought that maybe I should share how my parents handled it when my big brother started doing freerunning. So he started when he was around 13 and he managed to find a parkour gym called Parkour-Vienna. Back then they were primarily in a huge gym where they trained and where they also offerd to train others. So my brother told our parents about the whole parkour and freerunning thing and my parents where very sceptical at first but they totally supported him. But to be sure that he would get off to a good start they signed him and my dad up for a parkour course at Parkour-Vienna. In addition to that my brother would go to so called Forum-Meetings, which are basically just tiny jams that happen every week. After about a year of doing that my parents where pretty cool with everything my brother did. He even gets help from my dad when he wants to learn a new trick. Since then he has been doing some really crazy shit, and my parents are cool with it. As long as he does not show them that he went up on a skyscraper or that climbed up on a billboard they are totally chilled.
I always set really high goals for myself and beat myself up if I don't work towards them every single day. Your advice on goals reminds me that it's okay to just do it for ten seconds a day, or even to slow down sometimes. Thanks Jason!
Call me Old Guy. As a parent of a starting freerunner, I have to thank you fot this, a very useful and positive talk. I was already involved, now I also feel included a little bit more. Things to think about, are also: Parents are not a generic group, but most of them actually were young too, once, long, long ago. Some were very daring as a kid. But also, having kids is daring. Ask your mothers about birthing. We come from the same planet, we are not a seperate species. We care a lot about your well being. Sure, being alive, taking risks comes with the territory from the start. You can not live or love afraid. You have to challenge your limits! But parents also sacrificed and invested a lot of sandwiches, dipers, holidays, bicycles, care in times of sickness, and guiding patiently, educating, supporting, hoping also for some kid one day pushing our wheelcarts (downhill for all I care) one day when we get old. So, try to understand it can be hard to let go for us. If you know when a kid did not know howto even button a shirt, or even take a first step, it is a big leap to enjoy seeing them jump from building to building... Adults also have life expereince where they know more about losing loved ones. It makes a big difference, you have to respect that too and at least be understanding... Your life is not just your own, you do owe others for where you are today. They have invested in you, you have responsibilities beyond your own person. So do be careful, and don't forget your parents, going too fast. You will grow up one day and like me, after climbing all the treetops in a ten mile radius as a kid in under 5 seconds. Later in life I developed a scare of heights. So sad! Anyway, I did enough dangerous, daring, courageous and plain idiot things to be amazed to be alive and I don't remember thinking of my parents when I did them all the time, but sometimes, well, always when I got my self in trouble. Most young people, especially below 25, are still developing some of the basic mental skills that the adult parents get to deal with, especially when they have kids that they love and nurtered. The risk ascessment skills. Long term planning skills. They have to be developed. This is what I really like about Freerunning, actually. You can learn it this way. This is all about living life. But I do see things on line, well... You know what I mean, well, I won't tell the mothers, but... When you have to always set new limits to get an adrenaline rush, that is not always ok, thrill seeking can become addictive. I mean, taking your body and mental disicpline to the limit, developing skills, having controll over your body, challenging your self, that makes sense I also (try to) teach my kids things they thought impossible. Like cleaning their rooms and fixing their bikes flat tires or greasing the chain... As a bicycle repairman, I would love everyone to understand the tech of what I do, and I meet the same issue by the way, in any department: People that don't get the tech, think things are impossible. So I relate to you in that. So thanks again, take care and have fun, and don't let anybody discourage you, or hold you back.
Jason I always love your vids and I used to be a huge gamer. I stayed in all day playing video games but since started watching u, u have inspired me to do free running and get out
Nice video. So many people does not understand what successful people had to sacrifice to get to where they are. Also +1 for "why not both quality and quantity". I think you are creating the most valuable videos in the parkour community to learn from, as well as some of the funniest and best action videos... and you are producing almost every day, it´s super impressive! A lot of people want to have your lifestyle but most are not willing to put in the work. "To get what you want you have to deserve what you want".
After having spotted your channel it drove me to want to learn Parkour so much. I've been attending the Flipout in Portsmouth due to it's revamp and now has a spring floor, super tramp and Parkour area and I've been learning so much. You've inspired me to find the hobby I've been searching for for so long. Thank you for the inspiration and some day i hope to be as good as you!
Thanks a lot Jason. U're so motivating me, and open up my mind how to make our time so valuable. Keep it up, keep motivating people from what you do! I hope you always be The Man who motivated a lot of people. Cheers!
Jason, thank you for posting this video. I've been doing parkour for a few years and recently started Freerunning. but i started to lose interest or the love for movement for various reasons, like having the parent "who just doesn't get it". I too wasn't much an athlete at a young age but seeing how fucking good you are now, you've given me motivation to have no excuses and just progress some how. go outside and see something lol, thank you so much Jason.
Hey Jason just wanna say I started Freerunning in February 2016 and you inspired me all the way.So i am really new to free running and you in some wired way helped me I think i just wanna say Thanks for being kind and just there 😀
I started parkour/freerunning 3 months ago and luckly my parents support me doing it.And if anyone have problem with parents, just show them this video,I think it will help a lot btw awesome video
Hey Jason, how about: "A Freerunner's Insight" "A Freerunner's POV" "Jason's POV" "A penny for my thoughts" "Method to my madness" - as in: the actual structure behind your seemingly hectic life
Suggestion: "Ask Jason: (title)" : ) haha Questions: - If I may ask, aside from sponsors, selling Team Farang products and collaborations, how else do you get your income? Do you also earn from your videos? - It's kinda hard for me to find someone to train with around my region. In this video you mentioned it's better to train with someone and I understand that, but if I can hardly find one to train with? :/ Thank you : )
Here's my own self throwing motivational line when I hit the bottom... "True passion requires no Effort." Of course it requires effort and actually A LOT! but the meaning is deeper, because if you really enjoy doing something, every drop of sweat, blood and tear that you put on it is simply worth it!! The same as.. find a work that you enjoy and you will never got to work again.
I love these type of videos Jason! Keep up the fantastic work! I have a question for next Q&A: I would really love to get into the stunt performing industry, how can I reach that goal, and what are some ways to get started? Thank you!
Hey Jason i really enjoy this videos you are making keep doing it! Vlogs are super interesting and Q and A too. I think you could do a live stream Q and A, it would be very entretaining! The To do list is working very well for me thank you!
your q&a should be called as the jason paul reflection, I love freerunning, and your channel, follow you in social media and huge fan of your work, but I think you should be a example to other people, even if they don't do freerunning
Thank you so much for this! I learned a lot, not only about freerunning but also about setting good goals for myself. I also will have a much better time explaining to my parents why I love freerunning so much and what it means to me. One of my biggest problems with freerunning is fear, which I know is a big obstacle in a lot of people's lives. Most of the time I get scared of going backward over my head (backflips and such) and sometimes I'm afraid of new gaps. Could you give us some tips on how to conquer fears like mine in freerunning? Thank you so much! I really appreciate how much you've done for the freerunning world!
Jason, would you ever come to Belgium? if so, you know when? I really look up to you man. I like your style and words a lot!

Hey Jason, concerning the parents and freerunning/parkour topic, I found that most parents don't quite understand the concept that pk/fr are done outside and that most of the time there is no facility where they can drop off their kids and pick them up.
You should call you Q&As The Jason Paul Answering It ALL. I don't know it was the first name that came to mind. But yeah love the videos keep up the awesome work.
Food for Thought: FreeRunners Edition? A strange name I suppose but one that I think suits your style of Q and A and the mindset that you have. Also a question for the next Q and A: What is the best way to prepare or train more dangerous moves and jumps when training alone?
My parents were like that too and I just had to promise that id be safe which I am 😊 You could call your Q&A sessions something like "Jason's Talks", "Jason's tips and tricks part (episode)....", or maybe even something like "BTS of a freerunner", "What I would do (the date)" or something like that. I see why you asked it's very hard to come up with something for Q&A sessions.
Oh and btw yal should come down to Dallas Texas and check out some places downtown and meet some pros nearby (Tapp Brothers for instance) would love to meet you guys while you're in America
and the Irony ... because actually the first step is the most easiest one, the key is continuity.. but I get it because I think we all feel the same here... Most of the time we don't even want to do the first step because we know we're not going to finish it so we will feel the failure.. so to avoid failure, we humans, simply don't even try.. so foolish and yet so true..
Hey jason, You are an inspiration I have low self esteem but i want to be a free runner so im trying to lose weight and when i feel down you help. after watching your videos i try to set a goal of 20/30 pushups a day
taking my parents to a solo training n showed them what I actually do worked for me back then... I mean ur parents love u and if u show them that u are happy with what u do and you dont actually take risks n explain I think it will wokr out for u2
Hey, before I ask my question just wanted to say great video! You're a huge motivation for me when I see how dedicated you are. I'm just starting freerunning and I have spots I know of to train at and stuff, but I have no one to train with, I've looked online and even asked on social media if anyone else trains in my town but the last group stopped being active 10 years ago. Any pointers to stay motivated solo training or how to find hidden people/groups?
Jason Responds - Have you ever thought or planned about how long you're going to keep freerunning? Any retirement plan? or just doing things by the flow of life itself, maybe some other identity inspiration like Jackie Chan? get into movie business, stuntman.. or as Ryan Doyle own gym and training sessions, a book? auditions? raise and stick with the clothing business..? save money now that you can, and invert in your own house or facebook actions and things like that.. get closer with redbull or gopro and be a part of the team as a talent manager... whatever.. I think you get what I mean, and of course I'm not asking for personal details only your opinion about.. because knowing you.. I'm pretty sure what will be your answer, but still also a really interesting topic inside professional freerunning...
Hey Jason, I really love to make videos of parkour & freerunning, but i have no friends to record me. Can you give any advice on how can I record myself so that I have a great shot for Parkour & Freerunning , for just doing static shot, because I see a lot of Freerunning videos have someone there to record them, and it looks cool. If I have no one to record me with great shot and angles, what should I do?
ow and btw when you have a selfie stick and you are going to do flips, make sure it cant go off because mine flew like 10 meter in the air and cracked the screen
i did gymnastics before I started freerunning. So my parents kinda understood but they always told me to keep safe (like the should). I kinda started just learning basic flips like a front flip, side flip, backflip etc and then got good enough so I could perform it on concrete and get creative with my 'flow'. I think doing gymnastics helps a lot for parents to understand?
Hey Jason huge fan of yours and guys, I was wondering how you deal with that fear of trying a new trick. For me all I can really do is vaults, but flips are not even close to being mentally possible for me. I wanted to know some tips on being able to get over that fear and be able to do the tricks I know I'm physically capable of.
i usually am just jumping on roofs and stuff like that not even flipping yet with a bunch of friends anda super cool brother that makes sure we don't die
Jason i love to do freerunning and parkour but i dont go outsider alone all my friend Who are flipping to are living in a other city but i cant go every day to that city how do i motivate myself to go alone? And i cant record ik im alone
Hi Jason! Do you train your moves on boths sides left / right, or only your preferred side? - In strength / calisthenics training, I train as symmetrically as possible ... but if it comes to skill-based exercises, I notice a clearer left / right preference.
i had a serious head injury last year, now how I convinced my parents for doing parkour & Freerunning, I don't find any friends who train with me nor parkour gym or gymnastic gym in my city
☺ love your videos these Q & As are very insightful thanks for making them 🖒... question... I'm moving to a new city and instead of looking for a job I want to make a living doing something parkour/freerunning related. Where I'm going, it doesn't look like there's much free running and I think that's a huge opportunity to introduce it and/or expand it in that area. Any ideas or suggestions on what I can do?
How did you manage to create clothing? What I mean is, how did you find a factory that designs and sews the clothing exactly how you want? All I can find near me is just some shops that would print something on a TShirt. But what if want to create my own pants the way I like them, with me having a design in my head that I want on the pants? You once said: "go to a factory". But I have no idea what that kind of factory looks like or what it's about :/
Hey Jason, when you were talking about telling your parents that you're always training safe and responsible and not jumping over rooftops and so on, I was wondering if you think that actually jumping rooftops is rather "stupid" or do you think that it is the thing you just do after many years of training. I know that you do it to take awesome pictures and videos so I'm really curious whether you think it's a good idea or not. Plus I'm sure your parents are nervous about you doing that, too.
+Jason Paul I just one day ran to jump into my pool but I went head first and accidentally flipped can some people just learn by not training and was you good a the beginning now I am flipping on a trampoline and mid-flip jump on my shed do you think running a couple miles a day could help me
In your previous Q&A you talked about giving value to the content that we as freerunners create, but I still find it difficult to determine what kind of content my audience would find interesting. I began training parkour about 3 years ago so the most I can do is probably teach someone how to do a move/trick or talk about my experience with mental game and such like Dylan Baker is doing. Any advise on how to determine what kind of story I could be telling that would be interesting for the parkour community?
Thx Jason, but, my country isn't big on free running...we don't have jams or anything like that... what do I do? I love parkour, but how can I improve...I learn better being taught in person, what do I do?
Q&A is still a good name for this and i wanted to know if you have ever bin in Latvia! Ouh and who was the inspiration for you to start thinking of parkour/freerunning? I first started thinking of doing parkour when I was watching Jackie Chan's film with my father and i remember saying to my dad that I would love to grow up and do something like that! (I was like 8 years old) My dads reaction to that was: to do what? Karate? And I said something around Yes but with all of that jumping! And now I am 17 years old and I do parkour few times a week and my parents are good with it because they where there when I first started doing stuff in the back yard and they were there for me when i did my first backflip and so on.... so maybe this helps someone who is thinking of doing parkour... Let your parents know and let them help you... Btw do not start big... You do not want to scare your parents or else then might not let you do it! Good luck every one!
Jason I've always wanted to be a free runner but food is so good
You don't need to be the healthiest person to be a freerunner
Freerunning bleach... what a sight

A person wearing funny pants... says a freerunner
Jason you inspire me so much, you are like the Messi of freerunning to me. and I will meet you one day just wait!
Thank you Jason Paul for been this inspiration for all of us who wanna start this.

18:23 "JAM" "A FREERUNNING JAM" ;D
my parents are really supportive and they actually really like the idea of me freerunning
"Jason's question bro! You gonna rap it bro! You gonna rap it bro!" 😂
Most excellent video! At 66 years old I think I can at least start a very low level routine to strengthen my heart and body. Thanks
You are great man
Oh and btw yal should come down to Dallas Texas and check out some places downtown and meet some pros nearby (Tapp Brothers for instance) would love to meet you guys while you're in America
Jason love ur vids I'm am a freerunner and parkour like u. u inspired me to be parkour and a freerunner
" The hardest thing is always the first step " i'll use this in my essay .
I love it too!
and the Irony ... because actually the first step is the most easiest one, the key is continuity.. but I get it because I think we all feel the same here...
Most of the time we don't even want to do the first step because we know we're not going to finish it so we will feel the failure.. so to avoid failure, we humans, simply don't even try.. so foolish and yet so true..
+MrSyanArt agree with u .
huge fan jason..
Hey jason, You are an inspiration I have low self esteem but i want to be a free runner so im trying to lose weight and when i feel down you help. after watching your videos i try to set a goal of 20/30 pushups a day
+John Ellis awesome!! Go get it 😃🙏🏼 one goal at a time, you can do it!
Thanks
I love your philosophy
hey Jason I'm from Philippines and I'm finding myself where my parents hated parkour how can I convince them?
taking my parents to a solo training n showed them what I actually do worked for me back then... I mean ur parents love u and if u show them that u are happy with what u do and you dont actually take risks n explain I think it will wokr out for u2
talk about film making Jason, from shooting to editing
been here since 5k!
Name the series: Jason's Journals!
excellent advice
can you do tutorials for this channel
love it!!!!!! 😁

- Have you ever thought or planned about how long you're going to keep freerunning?
Use a tripod, selfie-stick and POV perspective. If they are too expensive use a stick and tape to build your own :)
Thanks a lot Jason! Keep It up on your videos! ALways inspire :}
+Jason Paul hi
ow and btw when you have a selfie stick and you are going to do flips, make sure it cant go off because mine flew like 10 meter in the air and cracked the screen
+Jason Paul its nice that you read commonts and give tips you gave one to me to so your one of the nicest YT EVER☺☺!!!!
wow nice
i did gymnastics before I started freerunning.
Do what you love Q&As
wow we have the same start im just a no life gamer turning freerunner
+jordan haas go get it!
i usually am just jumping on roofs and stuff like that not even flipping yet with a bunch of friends anda super cool brother that makes sure we don't die
Omg love u!
First and I love u
Q&A Dinosaur of freerunning!
Haha!
+Jason Paul please this.
Jason i love to do freerunning and parkour but i dont go outsider alone all my friend Who are flipping to are living in a other city but i cant go every day to that city how do i motivate myself to go alone? And i cant record ik im alone
New name for the series: Ask Jason
Hi Jason! Do you train your moves on boths sides left / right, or only your preferred side? - In strength / calisthenics training, I train as symmetrically as possible ... but if it comes to skill-based exercises, I notice a clearer left / right preference.
what about that show that team farang supose to do..one episode every month?
Hi Jason.Where and when did you start learning flips after you started parkour training.
Q and A:freerunning vs parkour
i had a serious head injury last year, now how I convinced my parents for doing parkour & Freerunning, I don't find any friends who train with me nor parkour gym or gymnastic gym in my city
I wish I could of done this to my parents, but I fell through a roof and snapped my elbow off, now they barely let me out the house
But I have no idea what that kind of factory looks like or what it's about :/
Hey +JasonPaul any tips for starting a weekly vlog?
Hi Jason, cool stuff!!! Did you ever test barefoot shoes, and how did you like them for Freerunning?
Hey Jason, when you were talking about telling your parents that you're always training safe and responsible and not jumping over rooftops and so on, I was wondering if you think that actually jumping rooftops is rather "stupid" or do you think that it is the thing you just do after many years of training. I know that you do it to take awesome pictures and videos so I'm really curious whether you think it's a good idea or not. Plus I'm sure your parents are nervous about you doing that, too.
When you said there's no way to stop you
For me there is
My parents: "Stop doing that or I'll ban you from technology for 2 weeks"
Well ya
+VCGames well, that still doesn't stop you from Freerunning 😅
+Jason Paul what motivates u
+Jason Paul I just one day ran to jump into my pool but I went head first and accidentally flipped can some people just learn by not training and was you good a the beginning now I am flipping on a trampoline and mid-flip jump on my shed do you think running a couple miles a day could help me
+Jason Paul true dat xD
How did you start making your own clothing and where do you get your inspiration from for make them?
Name the Q & A ninja news lol
It would be really good to know what frame rate and resolution u record in on your GoPro when you free run
How did u start freerunning ? In your garden or in a club ? And how long does it take to learn just the 'ground things' like vaults and flips ?
Sammy Meyen vaults are super easy to learn! Just use your couch 🙂
What editing software do you use? any general media production tips? like Editing/marketing strategies?
how to overcome the fear of don't jumping from your legs, for castaway and stuff like this. thanks.
for the next Q&A, could you pls say when are you in singapore next time or if you have planed to go to there again
you should ask him on messanger because he might not see this
+Bora Karatay k thx
