    In the same way that even after a painting is sold it is still the painters work; even after its sold, this beautiful boat will always be Rob Mason's.

    Heart and passion ❤️. Did hit me like a brick hammer, see this true gentlemans reaction to sell his beautiful yacht. Reminded me so much of my fathers work on his yacht when I was a child. I will forever be grateful to my parents, for passing on their love to the sea. My daughter is 8 years old now, and she just smile when we sail. Feel blessed when I hear her sing every time we are on the boat 😍. Warm greetings from Copenhagen

    My God! What a sweet sweet craft she is, well done. What a beauty. Classic. You have preserved a piece of history. You should feel proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the craftsmen who built her over a hundred years ago. Very well done. Thank you for your diligence.

      @ Tom And @William Haley, I'd love to gift it back to him as well. He knows more about it than anyone else alive and having him on board to talk about her would make anyone appreciate her all the more. Great care goes in to how he sails her and that knowledge is priceless. Such a beautiful boat and soul of a man who would care enough to bring her back to the water. Books and songs are written about such things. The right soul for the right boat will come along and with a little help from the source of all things the boat and the owners will give everything away and gain everything in return. Thank you for sharing this story.

    Sorry hear about you having to sell your boat. It's a beauty and I know how hard it is to give up something that you have put your heart and soul in. I rebuilt a modern Olympic class soloing sailboat which was a dream to sail. When I was forced to sell it, it broke my heart. It was a very sad day to see another fellow drive away with "my" boat.

    Thats what I love about wooden boats, weather you built it yourself or brought it back to her former glory they always have a place inside you. You learn their moods, tempermants, weakness and strengths. When you have to part with one for what ever reason its like a part of you is leaving. Love watching these videos of these classics.

    One year ago I had to sell my Bagadou, a lovely traditional sailing boat from the breton south coast. Too old to continue to maintain her in a perfect condition. I just can tell that my broken heart was cured by her new skipper, young and passionated, with two little kids so enthusiastics. Bagadou will continue to sail forward! I just hope that your lovely sailing yacht is in good hands and continues to sail so beautifuly.

    wonderful story and heart-bre'aking at the same time. As watched the video, i see that he and his brother are no longer agile enough to safely handle the craft. Me thinks that is why he is selling. 'T would be wonderful to find a buyer that would be his crew and he could continue sailing her as captain.

    It takes a special person to take over the stewardship of a living piece of history, as we all know who own wooden boats.
    But these boats will outlive us, if we do right by them, as you have. The transfer of stewardship, when it happens, is almost sacred. It bonds us not only to the previous owner but to a line of owners whom we have never met, may never meet.

      This is indeed true. Myfanwy was mine for a couple of years in the 90's. My first big purchase. My home. When I took on her blue book and looked at all her owners , I felt her history and a responsibility. Broke my heart too, when I had to sell her.

    Rob always knew when he was restoring her, that he was doing it for someone else and that his time with her was brief. The parting was always going to hurt - that's the price of love but he did it anyway. Some people are quietly great like that.

    • @norsemanshorn3988
      @norsemanshorn3988 4 года назад

      Doing what is right always is. Regardless of all the sailing he may do until he sells I'd still say it was a very selfless act putting in all that work when others would only romanticize about her at best. He saw the vision in his mind and saw it through to fruition. Awesome.
