Glad to hear Peter Duck didn't really burn to the waterline in the south china sea. Lol Even now at over 60, Arthur Ransome is still my favourite author, and I have actually just started to read Swallows and Amazons for about the 500th time.
Watching this July 2020. Just came across the latest issue of Wooden Boat Magazine #275. Several Vertue boats featured including #1, Andrillot. Thanks for the lovely content.
I have just come across a You Tube video about a sailing yacht and it's owner, Peter Duck 1946/Julia Jones. In the story Julia Jones mentioned two men her Father George and Jack Jones her Uncle. In the late fifties my Father started a boatbuilding Company where Jack Jones became our designer and George through his Company "East Coast Yacht Agency" sold them on our behalf. Fascinating that through You Tube more than fifty years later a connection can present itself.
Charming story. Very nice lady, telling interesting things about sailing and life aboard. I have sailed decades ago and I believe yachting is more than a sport -it's a lifestyle.
I’ve enjoyed this more than once. An exquisitely warm inviting Laurent Giles boat…a lovely person like Julia sharing this great history…the smell of breakfast…and a precious sweet dog. Thank you so much.
I love that boat who has a very nice character ans soul. Inside is very gorgeous. Exactly the perfect size, not small and not too big for two people with a dog. Thanks to Julia and her son to introduce an art of life, so precious to day.
The interior of this boat is absolutely gorgeous. Also good to see Pin Mill after all these years. I used to sail a Mirror dinghy on the Orwell back in the 80's and passed by there often.
Thank you so much for the uploads with beautiful ships and wonderful people. Love the channel. I only wish that the cute doggie’s barking in the opening to be suppressed to much lower noise level so that I don’t have to sue you for my hearing loss. Thank you.
@Kev Warriner Thank you, I hadn't read those, but now I will. I wouldn't swap a mobile phone for all the books I enjoyed reading when I was young. Loved Coral Island, I expect you did too. Cheers
Jack Laurent Giles was an architect of beautiful boats. In my opinion, Patsy of Island Bay, the most beautiful Laurent Giles boat ever built - well in Australia
Wondering as you work detailing final copies..does your sure footed pawed buddy run in jealousy to your studio to be sure who is doing the adorable barks🎈Canyon
WHAT LENGTH IS YOUR BOAT, DOES SHE FEEL SAFE IN STORMS, WOULD YOU ALE HER IN BLUE WATER. WHAT IS HER DEPTH MINIMUM DEPTH ASSUMING YOU CAN LIFT THE RUDDER. COULD YOU LIVE ON HER, THANKS

Lovely boat and lady, peaceful video, thanks for posting.
That's my favourite cruising boat! So homely, sturdy and has small sail areas. I could even manage all the maintenance and I'm 65. Thank you 🇦🇺
Swallows and amazons forever
Thank you MCB for a pleasant and educational snapshot of boating history.

I’m hardly a sailor being a car guy but I just wonder why there wouldn’t be a david that would hole the dingy in the back of this remarkable craft?

Arthur Ransome actually didn't like it at all and didn't keep it for very long. I owned one once … he was right!
