Congratulations, I pull reefer, and have very limited flatbed experience, but I’ve been driving 23 years and really enjoy your channel, it is genuine and real. It’s very apparent the old school ways you handle stuff. Good to see. Enjoy your new Skateboard.
Congratulations on your new trailer! You will have more worry free miles with a new trailer vs your old one. The old trailer does look nice after all the work you put toward it.
Dan is going to have a lot of explaining to do to Theresa when she see's her picture on the night stand got replaced with a picture of the new trailer.
Now we know why Dan (and Teresa) Added the New Front Porch on the House. So Dan wouldn’t get Wet when he Returned Home to Sleep 😴 on the Front Porch. 😬 👍
Keep talking Dan. I enjoy your explanations and narrative. Always! Will be interesting to see the weight difference between the old and the new trailers. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
There are many ways you can repair the 5th wheel plate. There was a shop in Phoenix, AZ . They did all the job from the bottom so they didn’t have to cut the floor. They replaced the crossmembers and installed a thicker plate. It was about 1400.
Good luck Dan with your life and your wonderful job. Thanks for show us the things that you have to do to make your money and support your Family. Blessings to you.
Dan bad news for the old trailer. I'm surprised you didn't get a curtain side/conestoga type trailer to stop tarping. I know you get extra for tarping but in my opinion not enough. Be safe Dan
If he has a Conestoga trailer he would still get paid the same for the loads that require a tarp, perhaps even a little bit more in some instances just because the shipper could get him in and out a lot quicker. But ASimpleTruckr Vlogs is right, it would limit the loads that he could haul.
Congrats!. All aluminum. Ought to be a bit lighter too. You were only an hour north of me when you dropped in Tampa. I have Family up there. Stay safe out there.
Thank you for putting so much effort into your videos. I have been watching for a while but on a console, now I have subscribed and happy to do so. I find each video entertaining, and informative. All best and safe travels!
Enjoy your videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your life with us. My brother was a trucker. I know it's a hard life. Although, enjoyed by some. God bless.
They will treat you right at Arrow. I do business with them. In fact, I would take your old trailer to them to get fixed. They have a great shop with reasonable price.
You are going to love the j hooks. You will want to notch a few of them so you can position them over the bolts that hold the track in place. I use them parallel to the front rail of the trailer as bulkheads sometimes as well.
Congratulations on getting a new trailer Dan. I wish you lots of luck with it. Thumbs up on this video, and I'll be watching for when your next video comes out of the new trailer.. Until then stay safe..
Oh, I forgot ... I do that a lot lately ;-) Several years ago you made some very useful videos on how to figure the costs of operating a truck, how to decide the rate and owner needs to set as a minimum per mile, etc. If you're casting about for a subject for videos on a slow week, especially since you'll be registering the new trailer, us non-truckers would love to know the basics and owner-operator needs to know regarding IFTA and IRP. I don't know when they went into effect, but one of my favorite little things as a young boy is gone now,,, when we would go on a family trip, my dad would stop at a truck stop or big diner and walk us kids around the truck parking area and we'd all compete in finding the trucks with the most license plates plastered on the front bumper and try to find every US state.. Be well.
I drove for a company that had the plate with all the places for the state stickers. One day I went to Seattle from Oregon and back and got stopped at the scale around Olympia and the scale guy couldn't see anything else out of order, so he tried to tell me he could fine me for the Washington sticker being in the wrong place. Say what? I told him I didn't put the stickers on; I just drove the truck. he let me go with a verbal, so when I got back to the yard, I told the dispatcher about it and he said 'don't worry about it', he thought the scale guy just made it up.
@@funnyfarm5555 Ha ha that's funny. If they still used those stickers today I've seen a lot of RV's with an empty map of the USA with "state-shaped" stickers you can stick on for every state you have been in. That way the RV'r can't go wrong in placement ...truckers are required to have a better sense of geography, LoL. But what I was talking about was the really olden days ... right after they switched to inflatable tires ... trucks were required to display and actual regular size license plate fro=m each state they were licensed to operate in ... made for some mighty big front bumpers, LoL.
Good for you sounds like a solid investment..Years ago growing up in Altoona PA Dad wore an all red Dorsey foam cap... nice one then he got a white n red foam cap, he enjoyed those two hats...Brings back memories. Thanks for sharing and be sure and get a couple hats...
Stay safe out there Dan, thanks for the vlogs ya do. First one of yours I seen was the cost or running a truck, like episode 26 I think maybe. Don't remember completely.
Sir Dan !! Can't blame you for NOT wanting to load that trailer in FL. As would have been a BIG issue on the road with the tractor 5th wheel hung in the nose of the trailer !!! Enjoy the ""NEW"" toy & ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!! Have seen 5th wheel plate issues b/4 that caused the trailer to flip over when the landing gear hit the ground !!! NOT a pleasant site to see !!
Dan. Congratulations on new trailer. I think you bought at a good time with everything going on right now. Prices on trucks and trailers have been coming down according to road dog 👍
It's always something, isn't it? I echo what somebody else already said, check the breather on your generator. Keep up the good work Dan, your videos are always the best!
Hi, Dan. Nice to see you on the road. I think that you should put fenders over your back axels. That would save you a lot of maintenance on your trailer. Stat safe I can't wait to see the new trailer,
Dan, good luck on your new trailer. Just looked on their website at this trailer. Good looking trailer. Can't wait to see it loaded up & behind the Pete. Stay Safe
Wow! 52, I was 52 sixteen years ago, that was 2004, i was still working, but stopped driving because I lost the feeling in my legs from the Diabetes in 2000 and couldn't use hand controls because my hands and arms were going numb too. Now 16 years later, I've passed 8 Kidney stones, had the lenses in both eyes replaced, but I still wouldn't drive for the safety of others.
Hey Dan thanks for sharing another great video! Here’s an idea, pair the old trailer with the 379 and put a driver in it. “ with heavy screening of the driver of course.”😄
jane weldon Can’t tell you how many older things over the years that I felt just needed some TLC or light repairs and within weeks, end up buying new because of some other catastrophic failure. For whatever reason, I can’t just throw out anything that I believe can be rehabbed if not for just some labor and a few new parts. Someday I’ll learn to just suck it up and throw/dispose of these things and save real money in the long run by buyine a new replacement.
Dorsey trailers are known to be weak in the middle. Wish you luck with it. Personally I think East or MAC would have given you better long term service but that’s just my opinion and you know the old saying about opinions.
Congratulations, I pull reefer, and have very limited flatbed experience, but I’ve been driving 23 years and really enjoy your channel, it is genuine and real. It’s very apparent the old school ways you handle stuff. Good to see. Enjoy your new Skateboard.
Here I was sitting here waiting for a man to show me his trailer, then all of a sudden THE END. True story 😂
A UPS driver shaking his head....thats rich, those guys drive and park like they are the only ones that matter.
As a UPS driver that was hilarious, our yard is madness when everyone's rolling out.
Check the crankcase breather on your gen. If it’s clogged and builds pressure it will push out the front/rear seals
Congratulations on your new trailer! You will have more worry free miles with a new trailer vs your old one. The old trailer does look nice after all the work you put toward it.
You work Hard and Deserve to be driving Great and Very reliable Equipment. You’ll Love Trailer.👍
Old trailer and old Peterbuilt equals another unit. Options. Take care.
Congratulations on new trailer. Bought new Mac dropdeck in 2010. You will like all aluminum. No more painting. Good luck glad your back dan.
Congrats on the new trailer Dan. Probably the best decision. Sounds like it’s spected like you want it👍👍👍
If I was you, try and talk them into putting on air scales, if it doesn't have it.
Dan is going to have a lot of explaining to do to Theresa when she see's her picture on the night stand got replaced with a picture of the new trailer.
Brilliant
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha....😁
Now we know why Dan (and Teresa) Added the New Front Porch on the House. So Dan wouldn’t get Wet when he Returned Home to Sleep 😴 on the Front Porch. 😬 👍
Niceeeehehehe!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
Glad the videos are back!
Thanks for watching
I still watch this channel. Fun to be along for the ride. Keep the videos coming.
Nice getting a Dorsey!!!! That trailer will last you a long time! I must say it would look good behind the 379 though!
Congratulations on the new trailer! Hope everything goes well with fixing the existing one.
All of the repair you did on your time off to your trailer!! Enjoy the new one!! $38,000.00 doesn't sound bad at all!!👍👍
Allot of the wheel spray from he drives goes in that area Dan. You might want to consider fenders on the drives.
yelp wouldn't have it any other way -at least for me.
Alotta rust there. Your suggestion makes a ton of sense.
I’ve said this to Dan for a few years and I don’t think he likes fenders. I can imagine the dirt and rocks hitting the back of the sleeper.
👍😉. Congrats new trailer 😉. Shame all work done old trailer. Can’t not wait video new trailer 😉👍.
Great video and good luck with those trailers !!
We always referred to the fifth wheel as the top plate. Love your videos!
After all that work painting, you got a new one cool.
As always Dan, thanks for having us along, stay well/safe.
Congratulations, Dan
Keep talking Dan. I enjoy your explanations and narrative. Always! Will be interesting to see the weight difference between the old and the new trailers. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Went and looked at it. Very nice. $36,500 including FET on the website.

Safe travels Dan
Congratulations! Now you won't have to watch for rattlesnakes as often. It's a smart move for a guy that takes care of equipment like you do.
Good luck Dan with your life and your wonderful job. Thanks for show us the things that you have to do to make your money and support your Family. Blessings to you.
Thank you Dan for the effort it takes to post up these videos. Thanks for keeping it real. Love the content, keep it coming.
Dan bad news for the old trailer. I'm surprised you didn't get a curtain side/conestoga type trailer to stop tarping. I know you get extra for tarping but in my opinion not enough. Be safe Dan
I think at some point he mentioned it limited loads he could take, Tarping yourself gives more opportunities. Or I could be wrong Lol
If he has a Conestoga trailer he would still get paid the same for the loads that require a tarp, perhaps even a little bit more in some instances just because the shipper could get him in and out a lot quicker. But ASimpleTruckr Vlogs is right, it would limit the loads that he could haul.
A great deal of loads say “no conestogas”. So yes it relieves a great deal of tarping, but it doesn’t outweigh the loads you lose out on.
Curtain side is a van trailer, not a flatbed.
Congrats!. All aluminum. Ought to be a bit lighter too. You were only an hour north of me when you dropped in Tampa. I have Family up there. Stay safe out there.

Good decision! No more worries with the trailer. Love gets better! Roll on. Be safe.
Awesome stuff Mr Dan getting a new trailer👍 Love your videos. Hello from Dos Palace California
You’re a Very Conscientious Driver and were Very Smart NOT to take a Load out of Tampa, FL. 👍
Thanks for the bridge coverage. Grew up in Ocala, Fla and miss the water.
You are going to love the j hooks. You will want to notch a few of them so you can position them over the bolts that hold the track in place. I use them parallel to the front rail of the trailer as bulkheads sometimes as well.
Congratulations on your new trailer!
Congratulations on getting a new trailer Dan. I wish you lots of luck with it. Thumbs up on this video, and I'll be watching for when your next video comes out of the new trailer.. Until then stay safe..

I have changed many of those king pin plates and you are right it is a lot of work Glade to hear you are getting a new trailer.
Good for you sounds like a solid investment..Years ago growing up in Altoona PA Dad wore an all red Dorsey foam cap... nice one then he got a white n red foam cap, he enjoyed those two hats...Brings back memories. Thanks for sharing and be sure and get a couple hats...

I have been also looking at the dorseys as well at least I can watch some one use it and give their pros and cons on it
Congrats on making the decision to buy a new trailer. At the very least you're getting rid of that troublesome generator.
Boa noite, lindo vídeo e boa sorte
Good luck with the new trailer Dan.
Always cool to have a new tool!
Dan Dan - No more shingles!! New trailer toy, congrats.
On Hwy 60 there is a nice beach there. Good hang out place.
Congrats on new trailer......just saw their, Arrow, add in truckpaper yesterday, which I picked up at a truckstop👍👍
Dan, wish you well on your new trailer, is it any lighter than the old one we all know weight counts, good luck. Sounds like you got it together.
Perfect trailer for that price, hope to see it on a walk around soon.
My dream trailer! I'm looking for one myself Dorsey is the absolute Best price.
Just turned 53 :-)
Paying 900 month to rent combo 53' transcraft and can't hold crap for weight

Congrats on the trailer. Im originally from Springfield there and that place has been there a long time. They do great work there.
I'm excited to see the new trailer too!
After all the work you just put into the trailer....

MAC's are sweet.....
And a hell of a trailer provided you spend the money for the good one and not the bare bones cheap fleet edition.
Congratulations on the new trailer
I wish I had known, there's a trailer shop in Tampa I used to replace my 5th wheel plate they did it the correct way!
