You're not alone. I've never seen any movie made from any book by Tolkien. But i can still appreciate Tolkien's poem set to music, and Geoff's beautiful performance. Such gorgeous harmonies!

So, lots to unpack here. I'll try to boil it down: do you remember in The Lord of the Rings movies when Gandalf fought the Balrog and fell into the chasm? That happened in Moria (aka Khazad-dum,) the kingdom of Durin, who was the first Father of the Dwarves. The Balrog had driven his people out centuries before. The Dwarf with the red beard is Gimli son of Gloin, who was in the LotR movies. The others were from The Hobbit. Three of them were dead by Gimli's time--they had all fought the dragon Smaug with his father and uncle and with Balin, whose tomb we see here. Thorin, to Gimli's immediate right, was the Heir of Durin and rightful Lord of Moria. So Geoff and Kathy evoked a ton of personal and historical meaning by having Gimli 'summon' the others to sing with him.

In my opinion this is the most beautiful song and video he's ever done.
This has become my #1 favorite lullaby. I put it on repeat and Fall asleep listening for many hours.

$20 and up are on the list. Im at $5.
But I'm happy there. Watch behind the scenes videos, live chat replay and other stuff
$10 adds a few other perks including actual live chat with him. Almost he's on live video. The patron texts. Tried that level but kept missing it so had to watch the replay. So went back to $5.
I love this video and song. I have it on my playlist. Both this and audio. I listen to it on repeat when I'm going to sleep. So beautiful and soothing.
He and Voiceplay will be releasing their Christmas videos very soon. Both are absolutely fantastic.

It's a poem from Lord of the Rings. The first dwarf is Gimli, three others form ghosts from the family of the person in the tomb. The remaining fellow is old at this point.

Great costumes. Phenomenal vocals. This is from one of The Hobbit movies, prequels to The Lord Of The Rings. If you liked The Lord Of The Rings, you almost certainly like The Hobbit.

Actually, not. It's sung by Gimli, son of Glòin, during the journey of the Fellowship of the Rings in the first BOOK of the LotR Trilogy. Never made to the movies. 🙄
As it never appeared in the movies, there's no music for it in them. This was made music by Clamavi de Profundis, who's credited in the description. 🙂

@DavideBaroni My mistake, I've only seen each Hobbit movie once.

@@bartonbagnes4605 No worries, it happens all the times. 🙂
AND... I never watched the Hobbit movies. I had enough with the LotR trilogy. Hadn't I read the books, they would be great movies. I'll stick to the books though 😅.

@DavideBaroni It's a movie adaptation, to extend it to the movies they added a lot of things, but they also didn't include everything in the book. But for action fantasy adventures they are really good, as long as you don't get super picky comparing them to the book.

@@bartonbagnes4605 Oh well, you don't need to be "super-picky"... IMHO, at least. 🙂
But you know, each of us has his preferences, tastes, and much more. 🙂
For me, it's "books only", more or less. At least for the LotR... Where they mostly took things away.
For the Hobbit, yes, they added lots of things that weren't there, I can understand the reasons but I just don't share them. It doesn't affect the movies' quality, they're just not in my list 🙂.
