Yes indeed, this is something great you fellas did for the Ukrainian people and also a great value knife! I'd love to see this up against those new Morakniv super overpriced knives they seem to be quite similar in knife at a fraction of the cost! I'm buying one to support my favorite knife channel and the people of Ukraine...
Just acquired my fourth BPS and I finally get to own something designed by DBK! Thank you guys for still keeping the budget folks in mind. By the way, they're really good for learning how to Scandivex, I used those and the shapton ha no kuromaku stones, and got really close to a mirror on my first or second try.

@@JaBo-fy4zf the fuck are you talking about? Seriously... they are supporting Ukraine by working with a small ukrainian manufacturer, letting them directly sell the knife they designed instead of taking it over and being sold by DBK.
Got mine in the post today, love the ergonomics of it, but it arrived not able to cut paper. I'm currently trying to put an edge on it. I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed :(
Awesome to see this, i was hoping for a Mora Budget DBK knife or something, but truthfully BPS more fits your shape of knife, and is probably more willing to work since they are a newer company appreciate the extra interest that comes from making a DBK knife
we once tried to collab with mora too but the minimum order quantities are very high to get a good price. The equipment they use for making the knives is very expensive. Knives are priced low because they can produce incredible quantities
I was on the BPS site before coming here. I saw the Bushmate and said that thing looks sick! Gonna get one. I have three other BPS knives. Congrats guys! PS. The sweet spot for fixed blade knife prices for me is $100 but often that is $150 these days. So BPS is 1/2 my sweet spot.
I do have 3 -B P S knives love them all I have had them for some time now when they were first on Amazon I thought they would be lacking but to my surprise there great. Happy Trails
Metallurgist's opinion: The knives look good, especially those without a Scandi grind. However, I see an issue with the steel used, 1066. It will sharpen easily, but the edge retention won’t be great for the price. The exception is the Beta model, made from D2. As a metallurgist, when I compare 1066 steel with 0.65% carbon to something like a carbon Mora made from C100 (almost identical to 1095) with 1% carbon and significantly better edge retention, the BPS knife doesn’t fare well in terms of price-to-edge retention ratio. Essentially, you’re paying an extra $45 for a wooden handle and leather sheath, but not for the steel. For example, the Ganzo G807, which costs around $18, has two to three times better edge retention than the 1066 BPS, and 9cr14mov steel is fairly corrosion-resistant (with 14% chromium helping with edge longevity). Sure, it has a plastic handle, but 9cr14mov is a much superior steel to 1066. If BPS knives were made from 1095/C100, O1, O2, or ideally 80crv2, I wouldn’t complain. But in this case, I don’t think BPS knives are worth the money (with the exception of the Beta model in D2). It’s also important to note that different steels can be processed differently. BUCK’s 420HC proves that even an average steel can perform well with excellent heat treatment. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with BPS. Look up "BPS knife edge retention," and you’ll see that among the tested knives, BPS in 1066 performed the worst, making around 50-60 cuts of sisal rope. Even a carbon Mora costing $7 handles 90-100 cuts. The Ganzo G807, at $18, does 160-170 cuts, and knives made from 9cr18mov or 14c28n reach 250 cuts. BPS makes visually interesting knives, but given the 1066 steel and its average heat treatment, they’re more suited for collectors or occasional users who might cut a stick a few times a year. (And they’ll be surprised how quickly the blade rusts when not in use).
You guys need to do an after convex profile video . That knife is basically the blade shape of the Benchmade Bushcrafter or like their puukko. It can easily be modified to do amazingly better . I think knife ownwers really need to learn but also understand just how important geometry is. I turned my Gerber Prodigy the ugly older brother too the Strongarm into an awesome bushcraft knife. Geometry in my opinion is more important than steel...Now im not stupid , YES steel is HUGE but low grade steel can be upgraded hugely by geometry and too me thats almost magical.
@canadafree2087 I ground down the guard nubs , took the pointy tip off the pummle. Then I reprofiled the edge around 19° and removed the shoulders or V edge by strop and compound. The Prodigy comes with a 25 to 30° bevel that cuts wood like crap , ya gotta change that edge geometry. Once I did that it is now an actual working woods tool . I've had no rolling or chipping cause the convexing makes the edge strong bit slicy . 20° to 19° is the max ya don't want to go lower or the edge will become to weak. U.S 420hc is tough steel and takes an edge very easy thays why the military uses it.

I may have to add this one to the cart before checking out now just to say I can have a knife designed by the DBK bois. Good show lads
great collaboration! I had 3-4 knives from BPS and all came razor sharp from the factory...one of the sharpest production knives I had
GREETINGS FROM MICHIGAN! I must get a Bushmate! My scandi 1066 BPS is an excellent value. The included sheath alone is worth what I paid for the knife. Id like to see you guys test a Bark River U.P. BRAVO! Its a cross between a Bravo 1LT & a Canadian & might be my favorite Bark River. Congratulations & Great job you goofy bastards!
Bought it before I even finished the video haha. Looks like a great, simple knife that I wont be afraid to beat up and can practice sharpening on. I like your taste, DBK
A dbk I can afford?!
Wonderful
I will be appreciate if you will tell your viewers which terrorist country attacked Ukraine, so BPS have to work in such hard conditions
Unfortunately they sold out here quite quickly in Canada and I missed it. Hopefully they come back in stock or you guys come up with another model. I have three BPS knives already that was supposed to be my fourth one but I waited too long.
Glory to Ukraine! & DBK ))
Hey DBK,
Would you be interested in reviewing the new ESEE models in S35VN to see how they compare to their 1095 knives? It would be awesome.
Love the content guys, keep it up❤️🔥
This isn’t the first time you join hands with BPS tho….
Who makes the €25,- “DBK Budget Friendly Sheath”? 😂😂😂😂
horrific terrific
I see what you did there
Really glad you gave it a secondary convex, makes it a true mini DBK knife!
Have you considered buying a few and selling them on your store with a DBK engrave or something??? I've considered buying one from BPS an just paying a bit extra for the engraving myself
Hey I changed my email and I’ve been a patriot member for like 6 years now so not sure if I ever got a I win email or not.
Idk how to change email etc grrrr life struggles are real out here!
Love the knife fellas!!!
You downplayed the problems with the sheath, which is let's face it, a design failure.
