Firstly that was hilarious. Second, the handle you can wrap it with paracord or something to fatten it up a bit and shape it to fit your hand better. Unreal how sharp that is out of the box!
Would love to see a stress test/destruction test on one of these, I understand why you guys went easy on it but MAGNACUT is supposed to be a pretty tough steel so I would love to see what it can handle

You two are awesome!. There's a danger here in becoming too 'interested' in blade steel, 'revering' the knife so much you end up being hesitant to use it. A knife is a tool just like a screwdriver, and, just like the latter, we should use it without 'thinking'. Mora would get this. Too much emphasis on best steel (I own all kinds from 'basic' to S30V, S110V et al) the ones I most often use are Moras in 12C27. A knife is a knife is a knife, all steels lose their edge - resharpen !. Still, with no 'steel obsession' we wouldn't have great channels like yours, cheers, AL.

The Classic Freedom Full Flat is really a great knife, the Pohlheim is also a great knife, but the South Pole is my favorite knife from TRC, especially with a secondary convex edge (I own three South Pole, the Classic Freedom Full Flat, the Pohlheim, the Mille Cuori and the Apocalypse).
@@achimgeist5185my best TRC is Mille Cuori. I do really like Classic Freedom full flat grind. I'm not opposed to flat grind v edge knives, not the best for outdoors, but they sacrifice cutting for more toughness.

Really wish I could get the DBK Edition Apocalypse with its convex though! I don't think putting a nice secondary convex on the regular v-ground Apoc will be quite the same unfortunately but will still be a nice upgrade.

Very good eghe. I ve made some knives with 15 to 20 grams eghe....its super crazy sharp and can cut very easily even the pvc sheaths....and please...be careful with these knives ....
This knife to me looks like the tactical knife that someone with a high end bushcraft knife buyers budget would want. If your in the market for say a ratio extrema but also wanna do some normal tasks like starting fires or food prep, this could be the knife for you.

I wonder if a knife company sending a knife to you guys specifically, would be tempted to specially sharpen a knife to a higher quality? And would you guys be able to tell if it had been tampered with?
Mm it's not always possible to exclude that possibility. We did have two pieces here though and they scored within 10 grams of each other. I do know almost every DBK knife we get from TRC scores around 80 -100gram which is already incredible and is also a thicker blade. But of course it's not always possible to know even for us. Sometimes we buy incognito or from a shop so nothing can be tinkered with
You can clip the sheath to the "sack inside your trousers"..... Gentlemen, the word you are looking for is 'scrotum'! 😋 Good to know the clip can be secured to your "person", but damn, that's going to hurt..... Also need to be VERY careful when drawing that blade! 😖

Whereas the "performance" of slicing is most strongly affected by blade geometry.

Well Considered ! I haven't seen big choppers in Magna-cut or anything but slim knives in it. Dawson knives are the exception, but they seem too thick with Sabre grund, I'm afraid they will be wedgey in the cutting like Randall-made knives

A year and a half ago I asked Dulo Knives to make me a DBK knife, I extra Cm in handle 3 extra Cm in blade length in CPM MAGNA-CUT they Saud yes, but after that nothing. No email, no knife. After breaking the tip off my own EDC RAT-1, I decided to sharpen the blunt end to a double bevel chisel type end thingy... I got to thinking - what would the knife fairy do with all her "tipped" knives? Salvage them? Throw them out? Shoot them or further destroy them???? I think it's kinda the new naming for the K1-s with some minor tweaks. don;t know if magna will be standard for this from now on but it got it's own story in the booklet so I guess the polheim will be a standard model

Great video guy's I'm a big fan of magnacut I waited two years for my full flat grind EDC made by survive Knives in USA it's scary sharp and own a lot of Knives but its design is impeccable I just can't fault it I bought it to use for deer hunting in New Zealand where I'm from as magnacut steel will handle our moist climate with out a doubt I also have noticed over the last few years both of you Gentleman have come a long way when it comes to cooking meat well done indeed 🕊

I got to thinking - what would the knife fairy do with all her "tipped" knives? Salvage them? Throw them out? Shoot them or further destroy them???? I wonder if you could make a video on what you could do to a salvage a "tipped" knife.

Just a quick (and totally non-binding in any kind of Legal way, so please don't be scared...) question for you: I'm gonna be in Amsterdam next weekend with my 2 best buddies to celebrate a rather significant birthday 🥳 (my 50th... 😳💩😥) and was wondering if I can legally carry my EDC Leatherman or a SAK while I'm there, or will that earn me a lengthy and potentially rather unpleasant and costly visit to a Police Station 😖💩💩💩 just for having it in my pocket? 🙄

I think it's kinda the new naming for the K1-s with some minor tweaks. don;t know if magna will be standard for this from now on but it got it's own story in the booklet so I guess the polheim will be a standard model

I enjoy watching videos of knives I will never buy. I have no idea why. I just love the dbk guys. I very much enjoy your dbk knife tho, havent needed to sharpen the elmax and its still just as sharp as when it came. TRC does GREAT work, truly master craftsman.

Great video guy's I'm a big fan of magnacut I waited two years for my full flat grind EDC made by survive Knives in USA it's scary sharp and own a lot of Knives but its design is impeccable I just can't fault it I bought it to use for deer hunting in New Zealand where I'm from as magnacut steel will handle our moist climate with out a doubt I also have noticed over the last few years both of you Gentleman have come a long way when it comes to cooking meat well done indeed 🕊
