Honestly disagree, I think films would need more focus in the intro. Maybe a segment with a calmer song while agni seems to be taking to whoever is in the volume cover for that part, getting more popcorn or soda, less focus on the cool. Something like this playing in the background and becoming more or less muffled maybe

Firepunch is built different. The most original manga of all time. That it made me cry throughout the whole chapter. Also when he killed the guy the one who killed his sister and his whole village.

So why not a 3 hour movie? It would be incredible. People watch the three 4 hour long movies for LOTR, sometimes multiple times, I don’t see why Fire Punch can’t be a movie. No, MAPPA has gone on record to say that they wanna animate all of Fujimoto's works, they're working on Chainsaw-Man right now, but Fire Punch is absolutely not out of the question.
Fire Punch MUST be experienced in a movie theater, it would be such an amazing exploit for meta narrative. Imagine someone goes to watch it with a drink and a snack and all of a sudden Togata does the cinema/heaven speech.
I have just finished fire punch and wanted to come back here to relive some old memories, I started the series back a year ago and stopped it to read some other manga, but that was a mistake, I decided to pick it up again and read it in bits at first and just a few hours ago decided to blast through it all the way to the end and I must say this is one of the best manga I ever read, I like chainsaw man a lot more mainly because it gave me less of an existential crisis, but this one I will probably remember till I die
As someone who has read the manga, this solidifies the fact that fire punch is a work of absolute art that needs a lot more recognition. Im very proud to have continued reading it from start to end because of this and I absolutely adore it! Thank you so much and cheers to more bangers from your work and fujimoto sensei.
I read the manga because of this animation associated with it and it has now ranked as my favorite of all time because of how different it is than anything else I’ve ever read
I am curious as to which studio will be willing to take this up though - I mean between incest, cannibalism, slavery, implied rape, attempted rape, dog fucking, gore, that ending and the fact that Agni needs to be drawn on fire for most of the show there aren't many studios that would take this project.
If I ever become rich, i swear I am funding a fully fledge series animated exactly like this but with the best voice actors money can hire. Can you imagine how epic that'd be?!

Said it ever since I read the part when agni finally found doma that fire punch was by far the greatest revenge story ever told in fiction. The backstory of agni was enough to solidify this but it takes an entire new level of thematic greatness to see agni track him down only to be completely conflicted after finally seeing him. Then what happens next and the rest of the descent into madness is what just makes it fujimoto’s greatest work. Never read anything on that level psychologically and I doubt I ever will again.
Basically, time passed while Agni lived. The world aged for so long, it got destroyed and Agni still lived. Living for so long but finally reunited with Judah (?) , just to finally rest and die . Leading to the finale of them sitting in the theatre.
There nothing wrong with "edgy" or a dark violent story as long as it's well written. Look at berserk for example, now that's a masterpiece "edgy" manga.
