Great informative video. Life can be somewhat easier if we listen to people who have walked the walk. And pass on there knowledge. Thanks.

Some of us learn the hard way when there is no need.

Thank you, a nice honest review/ information. Ideas are spot on as far as I have experienced. Ridgeline tension is the most important to make your comments be relevant. That is the way you sell Hammocks. If you are comfortable it works. The correct hang will convince any one that tries it the first time. I know what is good, but still try to tweak my lay.

Great comment Mike, thanks. And ridgeline tension seems to be the most difficult adjustment and apparently scares so many folks away from hammocks?

This video has helped greatly in terms of considering the option of hammock camping.
As a dual sport ADV rider and depending on weight it seems like the ideal situation would be to carry both a tent ⛺️ and hammock

if you have enough room, sure. I would not carry a tent unless I knew there would be no trees. You can still use the tarp for shelter without trees.

I can't seem to get rid of my shoulder pinch. I have a wide hammock as well. But it's a budget Amazon special. I have slept about 10 times on a diagonal. Relatively flat. But damn my shoulders get squeezed immensely.

I, too, have checked cargo on the bike while riding. I have yet to take a dirt sample while doing it though. I laughed way too hard at the first 15 seconds of this video

Funny, I had completely forgotten the "alternate" meaning. Glad you got a good chuckle. Let me know what you think of the ASYM?

I love sleeping in the trees...must be the ape in me. Dislike sleeping on the ground, to do it I have to carry a lot more padding.

expensive if you compare them to a cheap Emo - but they should be compared to a really nice tent - that fits in your pocket :)
