  • In this very first episode of our relationship advice series, my wife Belinda and I introduce ourselves. This is your chance to get to know us, to learn a little more about our relationship journey (over 40 years of marriage)-with some humor sprinkled in-and what ignited our passion to become therapists and help heal thousands of relationships.
We wrap things up with some practice advice on a question that troubles many: "How do you choose a long-term partner?"
Join us on this insightful and, hopefully, helpful conversation!
Don't forget to subscribe for more!
    Be well.

I love RLT/C and TR and esp you both together💞. You are the REALEST most relatable couple therapists in the game and that makes ALL the difference. I would like more precise and clear language around the fact that we do want our partners to change, and we should..because, according to relational sciences, few of us have the relational skills to make any relationship work (intimacy). Men, generally, less than women (thank you Terry/Carol Gilligan/Olga). Both being and finding someone who values OPENNESS (big 5 traits of personality) is the 🔑. And speaking from the “I” to request the change and accept the outcome seems to be the healthy way. Also, I know we effect each others feelings, thoughts and behaviors (Tronic/Bowlby). REALizing this is recovering our empathy, sensitivity and building a containing boundary. We’re in a system, afterall..a grey area that I think requires precise language to reflect the true and complex nature of relating. We benefit from taking responsibility for the power we do have to influence each other (WISDOM) ..since we are each other’s environments and we didn’t choose to have mirror neurons, right!😜 You guys are the best..I feel so grateful for rediscovering you and RLT/C🙏🏻
