For sure, brightener is just a simpler version of an EQ. You'll have more control/potential with the EQ. Be careful tho, it can also mess up tracks if you make too big of moves, especially in the high end.
This is some quality content ! Keep up the good work ! I do have a question : I tried using your tips on my recording (the two EQs + compressor), but it sounds very much like old radio sound. I tried adding the brighter effect but it doesn't seem to help. I don't even know what I'm doing wrong.
As you see in this video, brighteber for me tend to be harsh, but you still want brightness, try boosting ALOT on the 2 highest bands on the equalizer, see if that works! It may also depends on you microphone

so it's better not to use the plugin(brightner) and just use EQ to lower the low ends and boost the high ends?
