I think Lars is a big reason why at least half of the songs they've written since Kill 'Em All have ended up the way they did on the albums. He may not be the best drummer but he seems to definitely be good at the musical arrangements and taking what has been written and putting a great song together out of it all.

I love the first 2 verses of this song.
    How could he know.
    This new dawn's light.
    Would change his life forever.
    Set sail to sea.
    But pulled off course.
By the light of golden treasure.

I love how these guys work. They just sit in a room together and feed off each others energy while constantly brainstorming ideas. Lars especially, when he's in the zone he looks like a mad scientist trying to discover some new law of physics. Lol. James adds some balance by making sense of all the madness, Kirk just watches then goes home and comes back with something, and Rob I think just pretty much shows up and does what he is told. So awesome to watch, could watch them for hours.

someone did said that kirk hammet is better guitarrist than james?
why? i think making a solo based on a scale is easier than making a song from nothing

All songs are composed of chord progressions and scales. What are you talking about?

What he’s saying is James comes up with the majority of stuff from nothing while Kirk just has a slot of time in a song with an underlying chord progression that he has to write a solo over. Two different skills

He was actually producing records for 4 other bands at the same time, so he was only there during the "chopping block" portion of the setlist for release.
