I quite enjoyed another a day in the life video of James Hetfield. Never a dull moment in this one, as like the other I viewed previously. James is just so unreal. His laugh is so infectious. His the reason why I discovered who Metallica were. I saw him first and as the saying goes the rest is history \m/
I can't imagine the feeling of being there while Ecstasy of Gold is playing and coming out to that rawring crowd It would be so great so bad and so amazing at the same time xD
James is one of the greatest musicians I know. He hasn't let all the fame get to his head and hes such a cool guy. I'd love to spend at least one day with the guy.
I know that James won't see this comment, but here it goes, for all the fans out there. I speak for me when i say that James is like a god. Everything on him, from the way that he dealed with his problems, everything is just amazing. Fuck the haters i don't care, i love Metallica. FOR ALL FUCKING EVER! James is amazing, amazing guitar player, amazing singer, and above everything an amazing person. Happy 48th birthday James Alan Hetfield, Signed by a big fan from Portugal. lml
James Hetfield is an amazing guy and gives all alcoholics hope that there is a way out. The new album is also incredible and they've literally reverted to Master of the Puppets/ Ride the Lightening days! Shows what you can do when your a sober guy!
@@gordman6432 It's all good. Back then, I didn't know he did leads or solos. It's fun finding out stuff about your favorite bands you didn't know before.
@@BenHughes81 the man himself responds! rare to see after 11 years haha. and yeah it’s super cool to be learning new things, it helps me to connect with the music and i love little facts
I wish James would be more mellow and fun like this instead of being so uptight all the time like he was in other documentaries. The silly tantrums and ego trips just ruin the bands productivity. Just my opinion (don't shoot!) :-)
04:30 to 06:30 - fly on the wall peek into the pre show rituals - clearly still feeling butterflies before going onstage, even after all these years...great footage.
After seeing James do his "Yeah" for that kid who asked him to do it so he could record it I have epic size respect for him. I mean I already respected the guy but when I see "Famous Rock Stars" being humble and down to earth with their fans like that it gives me goosebumps, I love shit like that. Fuck yeah James Hetfield you're the fucking man.
i agree with you on that! he's not the guy you wanna meet on a dark street in the midle of the night, or well if you didnt know him that would be very intimidating. but he is James from metallica so i would be happy to meet him :D
actually, james hetfield did write and record alot of solos and lead riffs, he doesnt only just play rhythm guitar. he played the solo on 'nothing else matters' as well as others
EPIC part.and to those that don't know exactly what he's doing, hes reading a take out menu and taking the orders and putting it into the lyrics of Master of Puppets.
@1stSgtSoulStealer It's Their Intro Song. 'Ecstasy of Gold' Its a Classical Song.. but they did a cover for it.. they've been using it as their intro song for their concerts since 1983.
"One's shorter than the other... it just-- *pissed off sigh* *weird crying*" "You'll be all outta balence now." "I know... maybe the right hand will go faster cuz there's less weight on it." and then the random Moonwalk onto the stage lol
Thank you dude for posting that. Whose the guy recording all this? What is the deal? How is this footage available to the one who posted it? Anyways Thanks again! Long Live the Almighty Hetfield!!!!
Its long way from 03 or when ever that tuning room playing Battery, Lars was in another room, it was so small. Now they get a whole garage to tune in, love them, going May 27 in Boston, Ive seen them 8x, but taking my 2 boys 18 and 20 to their first show, the plus is we are going to see Megadeth 4 days earlier a Mohegan Sun, good times!!

I'd love to see James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett go head to head in a guitar battle.
Derpytron84 Rocks! Different styles, it won’t work. Kirk wins

James is mad cool. I met him in 1997 and 2003, both times he was a great guy, and very funny in 1997. He kicks ass everytime on stage!
1:54 James playing "No Leaf Clover" on drums.
Love how Lars is the second best drummer in his own band lmao

I love how he recites the "Spring Roll" menu in Master of Puppets-ness.
SPRING ROLL! SPRING ROLL!
He's always so happy. That is so great to see. Kind of gets me sad, because he is the best person alive. :'(

thx for putting this video together. I completely enjoyed it.
i just love watching the guys having a nice time, just like old time friends instead of just a band

He does. James plays the solo for Northing Else Matters, Whiskey in the Jar, and parts of Orion and Master of Puppets
the part about my tattoo made me re-like the mighty Het once again... he is saved, thank God!

EPIC part.and to those that don't know exactly what he's doing, hes reading a take out menu and taking the orders and putting it into the lyrics of Master of Puppets.
I loved it when he was making up lyric melodies for songs based on the menu items
8:30 - A plain black explorer... classic hetfield
Dang that voice. Legendary
watching this : Fight Fire-Welcome Home ( Sanitarium) live at " Giornata dell'arte " 2010 . THANK YOU!
He's not praying, he's counting how many drum fills Lars is going to miss in his head before they go on stage.
what a great person. gotta love him

they've been using it as their intro song
for their concerts since 1983.
the fact that this video was made in 2007
"One's shorter than the other... it just-- *pissed off sigh* *weird crying*"
"You'll be all outta balence now."
