Hello, with our Transfer Cables and the software it is meant to transfer files and folders. Programs must be installed using the installation files, or installed from the original service like Adobe for example. Question- my old PC has USB A type 3.0, and new has Thunderbolt (but also USB 3)...is there any point to using a USBA-to-Thunderbolt cable, or it is limited to the speed of USB A 3 so get that one double ended?
Hello, if one of your PCs best available port is USB 3.0 then the link rate between both PCs would be based on USB 3.0 and in this case I'd recommend using our "USB3-TRAN" sku that we offer as part of our USB Transfer Cable lineup.
Hello, for our Thunderbolt Transfer Cable the 40Gbps total bandwidth that Thunderbolt has, it uses 20Gbps per direction when using it as an Ethernet network. Part of that raw bandwidth is also used for encoding, and TCP/IP overhead. The end result is 10Gbps transfer speeds, which can help transfer large multi-gigabyte files in seconds/minutes. No mention of any software on either computer. I am a total dinosaur when it comes to modern electronics but I don't think this cable just drains the programs from the old to the new.
Hi, our Transfer Cables use Bravura's Easy Computer Sync software to transfer files through a user interface allowing you to pre-select folders to by synced or one-way transferred. The software does not transfer over applications. Apps must be installed using the installation file or like Adobe for example. Feel free to reach out to us for any additional questions: plugable.com/pages/support
Disappointing. Basically a sales pitch for Plugable cables. Did not then go on to give the steps, after the two computers are connected, for actually transferring massive quantities of files from the old to the new computer.
Hello, if you need assistance with using our USB Transfer Cables we can certainly assist. Please contact us directly on our support page where I will leave a link for here: plugable.com/pages/support
Hello, our USB Transfer Cables and the Easy Computer Sync software are only compatible with Windows computers. At this time we don't recommend this cable for Mac computers.
Hello, you are right that there are other ways to transfer files such as using a local network. The transfer software also has a few unique features as syncing the file structure from one PC to another, one-way file transfers, and controlling another computer via remote access. It is also helpful for transferring files offline, for those looking for a no network solution. Feel free to reach out to us for any additional questions: plugable.com/pages/support
Sorry to say, but this was a junk of a video, without any instructions on how to do it. Edit: I found a way. Share a folder on target PC, connect the USB cables, and now go to \\PC-NAME (assuming PC-NAME is the name of the target computer)
So this was just a Plugable commercial with no helpful step-by-step information. Got it.
u need to illustrate the software side of this procedure.
Thank you for the feedback. We'll pass this on to the team!
very helpfull thank you for the vid
You're very welcome! We're always happy to hear that our tutorials are helpful to anyone who may need them.

Pass.
Nonsense, you don't need that cable, people can just put a PC in the same workgroup and copy the files from a shared folder.
