Dan…lesser Dan here. I told you a few weeks ago I was looking for my first trucking job (at 58!). Well, I got hired at Coastal Transport Authority! I am excited to become a flatbedder, and follow in the footsteps of a guy I really admire. Thank you for your inspiration. Now I can be not quite as Super Trucker Dan!!!! God bless!
One of the trucks I drove years ago had an oil cap like that one. We hooked a small piece of chain to a bolt and to the oil cap in case someone didn’t tighten it enough. That way we didn’t lose it.
It’s the economy Dan. It’s hurting all of us out here! Learned long time ago, got to find joy where your feet are at the moment, cause everything else around you is always changing. Godspeed Brother!!
Sorry to see you frustrated at the process, but at least you have a paying job. Your nervousness of carrying those coils is justified as they tend to make the load top heavy.
Thanks Dan for the update You have been doing the job long enough to know that freight industry is the first to feel the impact of the economy Take care and stay positive 🌵🇬🇧⭐️👍
You will survive. You have a truck and a half at home you can sell! I finally retired this year at 75. I have been staying busy doing nothing and it takes me all day to do it.
WOW $30 Grand that's tough to swallow and still can afford to keep at it especially being an owner operator.Good thing Bailey doesn't get a salary good luck and stay safe.👍
Dan THE Man... YOU are about the most polite Ranter & Raver there is! These years of age we accumulate have to amount to something, right? The ability to understand the "whys" of things and then work out the "hows" to address them. Or at least to recognize the things out of our control. Things will come around. You keep being You, nose to the air, eye on the prize, etc. Tomorrow's another day. Another dollar. As long as it costs you less than that! 😉
Hang in there Dan. The cure for low prices is low prices and the cure for high prices is high prices. The efficient operators that manage their business as you do will be better after the economy recovers. Thanks for the video and travel safe.
Hey Dan, I passed you last week. You were running northbound on RT23 at the 14 mile mark. Felt it was my lucky day to finally catch you going down the road. Love your videos!!!
Hi Daniel, I watched your video from Bavaria in Germany. Every truck in Germany is a cabover....no conventional tractors here. You never know what you may have missed simply as a result of the load cancelation...and it's called Providence. I look forward to watching your videos. Be safe and take care out there.
Every time I am driving through a construction zone at the 55 mph speed limit and I have truck after truck of so called "professional drivers" blow by me I tell myself thank goodness there are still pros out there like you. The goof balls out there are what give responsible drivers like you a bad name.
Thanks for sharing the "inside" dope on conditions in the trucking industry.. I truly believe there's far to many trucks chasing a reduced need since the pandemic ended. The strong will survive!!
Dan I. don't comment very often but watch all post and enjoy all post as business people we are all saying the same things guess we must keep putting our best efforts forward and pray for better times
Will continue to keep you and Bailey in our prayers 🙏 for Blessings! Always know that God knows your needs and definitely has a plan for you! Stay Strong!
Been a super long time since i checked on this channel. Last time i saw you in a white 386 which is one of my favorites. But this 389 with that Dorsey trailer is amazing. Glad to see you still trucking. Hopefully we can survive the next few years. I wish operators could make the rates instead of the market.
Its getting Hard out there ........... Eventually you get burned out, You're trying to hustle but the loads simply aren't there. Hope things start panning out More in your favor Dan.
Dan, get yourself a new fill tube and cap from Performance Diesel. Best thing I every got for may CAT, after losing those silly screw in rubber caps and oil blown all over. The rubber caps pop out if you tighten too much and not enough. Love your channel.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼try & keep your head up Sir!!!! WE love what you do!! Hope you can get back on a good roll & get some home time!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for being honest with us. You feel the economy before the rest of us. I ran a small business in Calgary, Alberta and I felt a downturn in the economy when wholesalers started phoning me with unheard of deals. It is easy for us to comment yet you are the one who is paying the bills. I was tempted to spring for the deals. I did what I could until the "waters" settled down. I won't offer cliché lines that you already know.
Yes Dan I agree this is a bad time. Been out since 1976 with first truck. Still out here. close to retiring. Pull a step deck just run close to home. Only gone one or two nites a week. Have a roofing haul. It’s pretty well done by Xmas. Then I park till spring. Best of luck getting through these times. Take care.
Stay safe, Dan. Super Trucking can be full of whoa. Ha. Sometimes I hear a farmer talking about their issues. Very similar. Some of the more worthy economists understand the direct relationship between the vigor of the transportation industry and the financial health on Main St. it may be a few years of just-breaking-even. Good content either way. Dogs Rule!
I hauled those lifts out of Madison like 4 months ago and they did the same thing to me, I went to Orlando but they changed it to NJ, I was paid for it all.
I just had a CAT reman engine put in the W900 i drive. Same oil fill set up as yours. I can't believe they couldn't find a way to make it more of a pain to get at. Maybe put a few muffler cooling hoses or water cooled steering box reservoir strategically placed around it. Dollar store funnel saved the day. Thankfully after the first service and change to syn blend no oil use.
If it hasn’t been mentioned early in the comments. Isn’t there usually a little chain on those Oil Fill Caps. If not maybe get one and you won’t lose it again. But then your a pretty smart dude, so you prolly already figured that out.
The front trailer axle is "lifted" on numerous light loads if memory serves, so why would the rear trailer axle NOT be the first to require new rubber❓

Hang in there, Dan👍👍👍
We all are in the exact same boat regarding revenue. It’s effecting us all.
You seem really burned out, but hang in there Dan. You’ve got more experience then most with handling down turns. Keep working hard.
One of the trucks I drove years ago had an oil cap like that one. We hooked a small piece of chain to a bolt and to the oil cap in case someone didn’t tighten it enough. That way we didn’t lose it.
Yes a great idea
Put a small chain in that oil fill cap, use to put chairs on all my 3406's
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so down Dan. I pray things will pick up for you. Take care and stay safe. Hugs to Bailey. ❤️
It’s the economy Dan. It’s hurting all of us out here! Learned long time ago, got to find joy where your feet are at the moment, cause everything else around you is always changing. Godspeed Brother!!
the economy is great. what are you talking about.
Sorry to see you frustrated at the process, but at least you have a paying job. Your nervousness of carrying those coils is justified as they tend to make the load top heavy.
Thanks Dan for the update You have been doing the job long enough to know that freight industry is the first to feel the impact of the economy

I haven't driven in 25 years but it sounds like some things don't seem to change much. Great video Dan.
Keep your chin up Dan, we are all pulling for you. Things are going to get better eventually.
Hopefully in 2024, unless Biden wins again or some other psycho far left liberal. Then we’re going to continue getting worse
Couple years from now
Hang in there Dan. The cure for low prices is low prices and the cure for high prices is high prices. The efficient operators that manage their business as you do will be better after the economy recovers.
Thanks for the video and travel safe.
That forklift loading the rolls - Sounds like it had known some better days too...!!

Sorry to see that happen to you. Trucking can be unpredictable. Good to see they’re compensating you for the time spent. Stay safe!
Hey Dan, I used to live in Mebane, always fun to hear how people pronounce it, we say it like meb-in.
Keep you head up ole son!!!!

Hang in there & Safe Travels. Love❤❤❤❤❤Miss Bailey. Give her a hug, smooches, & scratches behind both ears.
Sitting in that parking lot. Miss Bailey's nose is wishing for something from Wendy's or Mickey D's.

Hi Dan and Bailey. Keep smiling and driving safely.
Thanks
Things will pick up for you. Stay safe and god bless.
Good Morning Dan.
Dan drill a hole in the cap and put a small chain in the hole and run the chain to a bolt on block or bracket that's what is on my cat filler tube
hang in there Dan, it'll get better............
Thanks Dan

Every trip, it seems like that old girl needs work. Surprised there's anything left at the end of the week.
My heart goes out to you.
Hang tough Dan, I know it stings now, but better days are coming
I saw you when you came through Raleigh on I-540 the truck is beautiful.
2 million miles! Your truck is just broken in!
Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield.
Love the content!!!! Your headed to my home town safe travels brotha
Why don't you secure the oil cap with a piece of cable or chain 🤔
Have you ever considered running new tires on the rear axle then move them to the front axle since they get skidded when turning.
It's called Bidenomics. I had a little cheeseburger little fries and a regular Coke at Five Guys and it cost $16.88
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼try & keep your head up Sir!!!! WE love what you do!! Hope you can get back on a good roll & get some home time!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏼🙏🏼

Ya, me and the wife had to retire it just wasn't justifiable. I really hope the best for you, Dan.
I had a good load cancel on Friday morning I think that’s going to be happening more often in this crazy market. Be safe
Yeah its all fast food out here with exception of Dennys at almost every Hook these days and a few TA and Petro sit downs thats it

What would have been worse is if you left and they called. Stay safe you two.
Thanks for the video Dan, hope things go better soon.
They made you tarp outdoor ac units?? Makes sense
62 is right around the corner. Retirement.

Things have got to change soon with the trucking industry or there isn't gonna be any trucks out here to haul anything..
hes not down he talks like every trucker in the world
Chin up Dan really enjoy your videos
