I’m planning this project out for my back yard. Wow! Inflation has reeked havoc on the price list. The plywood alone is nearly equal to the total given.
np the pro ramp buliders actually have sort of like mini silos. they have special slots for the wood to go in to slightly bend it, then they blast it with steam.
Nice, looks good. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the shape of the transition come from? Looks like quite a fast transition. If you don't mind me giving some advise... go to a local skate park with a mini that has good transition and just trace it onto a piece of plywood. Guaranteed good transition should you do that!
Sweet, i builted one a few weeks ago and it's really tiring but i didn't do it alone, i builted it with a couple of friends. It's a great mini, have it on my backyard.. (sorry for the english, im dominican lol)
Awesome Build Brotha! I like how you angled each transition Side at a 45 for the video, Smooth looking trans doesn't appear to be too steep.. Great idea for the flat! Is that a 6 foot flat? I would have done a 8 foot my self.. This brings back memories when we built lots of half pipes all through out the neighborhood, during 1989-94 time frame... Most of the time we would use pallets for the flat, and part of the top decking!! you just Got your self a New Subscriber
I used your plans to start building my own halfpipe. So far I only have one side completed (lack of funds thanks to gas prices and such). But I'm going to finish it up this summer. 8' W - 4' H - 22' L. Middle piece wont be as large as yours though. I may post a video when it's completed.
gj on the ramp and also i have 3 questions...1 whyd u wash down the ply wood...2whats that stuff on top of the plywood called...3 how much spacing between the wood planks
this guys like a super-hero. he saw some kids skating a empty parking lot, so with his super human speed he built a miniramp as fast as a speeding bullet. see all the happy kids skating it afterwards?
What is the stuff called at 2:05 that he puts on the ramp? Is that just thinner plywood, or something different? (the brown layer) It looks smoother than plywood.
I got a couple questions: how'd you get the rail thing to stay, where can I get a rail thing, what was the matierial that you put over the wood, what was the approximate cost, and how long did it take to finish the whole thing? But that's is a beast ramp!
Hi Would this be good for biking/skateboarding? And would it be waterproof or would you have to buy skatelite or put a tarp over it if it rains?plus how would you make it cheaper? Thanks
He's putting water on the wood to help it bend easier onto the 2x4s. If you google Free Mini Ramp Plans, this is from the first website that shows up. It's about 3.5" high with 70 something inches of transition, so its smooth and easy to ride, but still challenging.
I wanna attempt to make one but Im a little worried I'll mess up when cutting the sides, is it easier to use a compas and string to get the angle right?
the ramp was constructed in 3 parts, the two ramps and the middle part, along with the ramps standing platform was added after the ramp was constructed. this part consisted of only 2 side panels and no central support, in which the slats are usually inserted not nailed or screwed... and the standing platform is built in.. so curious as too if this will last as long as a longer built ramp :) not insulting your build, i am rather impressed with how it turned out (:
@32pikachu the rail is called "coping". It's a 1- 1 1/2 inch steel pipe. You can make it stay by drilling holes into it and screwing into a 2x4. And you can pretty much buy it anywhere. Check your local hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowes. And the material he used on top is called "Massonite". But the total cost for this miniramp is around $500.
@cocacolaquinn The darker top sheet? Masonite. Dont use it if youre building a ramp outdoors. If it gets any moisture, its gonna start to rot and peel away like cardboard. Instead, use 2 layers of 3/8 plywood and coat it with deck paint :D
When i'm all grown up and have a son, I'm going to build him one of these!
Build it for yourself
very nice.. built this with my dad and brother a few years ago from this video.. ramp held up well!!!

When I grow up and get my own place I'm putting a half pipe in the extra room. :)
Did you build it in your extra room yet?
this guys like a super-hero. he saw some kids skating a empty parking lot, so with his super human speed he built a miniramp as fast as a speeding bullet. see all the happy kids skating it afterwards?
@Andyandhisboard i had the same mini, the transiton is perfect not to mellow not to steep
In less than 5 minutes you said? The result is great
IT WOULD BE EPIC TO SKATE THAT FAST!
@Teh0wnageVidz are you talking about the brownish layer?
its i material used help the skateboard roll better
whats the brown thing you put on the ramps over the wood and good vid by the way
thx vor this video man helped a lot
i used these plans and they work great
looks so fucking fun. masonite looks really smooth
i love watching this :]]]
this is soo great

cool nice work.
Sweet, i like it
how long did it actually take you to build this? and what was that other layer you put ontop of the wood?
WOW, nice one
what kind of battery powered drill are you using? i always use power drills.
What is the stuff called at 2:05 that he puts on the ramp? Is that just thinner plywood, or something different? (the brown layer) It looks smoother than plywood.
what did u put on the wood before u put it on the ramp
I got a couple questions: how'd you get the rail thing to stay, where can I get a rail thing, what was the matierial that you put over the wood, what was the approximate cost, and how long did it take to finish the whole thing? But that's is a beast ramp!

@jessiekingofcool does the plywood have to be treated or can it be regular plywood?
He's putting water on the wood to help it bend easier onto the 2x4s.

5*s nice work
How many hours did u have realy worked?
How much did cost the wood?
I wanna attempt to make one but Im a little worried I'll mess up when cutting the sides, is it easier to use a compas and string to get the angle right?

Was that a nail gun you used to secure it???
Also what was the stuff that you put over the plywood???

it makes it more smoothe and some what weather resistant
