    I was just thinking to myself that I often struggle with composition, and then I found this amazing video. Thank you for explaining your process of finding a potential photo, setting it up, composing, and balancing the elements. Extremely helpful!

    I was in Valencia in September as previously commented on another video of yours. I'm a 35mm guy and my favourite shots were taken in this city. The architecture, people and sunlight just about falls right in the afternoon and late summer eves for excellent photo ops.
    Valencia's Roussafa and Old Town were great for photos. I just wish I was there long enough to visit the beach and warehouse areas closer to the East.

    Roman you’re quickly becoming one of my favorite photographers on RUclips. I love this style of video where you talk us through your process and what’s going on in your mind behind each scene.
    Also love the interviews, looking forward to seeing more of that as well.
    Thank you!

    I like this sort of video where it's simply(?) the photographer describing their thought process, versus those that have a sort of predetermined "lesson" (you know, "5 things PRO photographers do that YOU should do" 😉).

    Really enjoying the style of videos you’ve been putting out recently.
    I just got my first camera ever (xt-5) and am surprised at the relative ease it has been to take pleasing photos with. Then again, I’ve been watching you for a while and have learned quite a bit from you!
    Thanks for all you do, Roman.

    I’m surprised that you didn’t shoot anything in the huge covered fruit and veg market which is really colourful and bright. It’s one of my favourite parts of Valencia. Maybe it’s not so busy in winter. I’ve only ever been in summertime when it’s a nice place to get out of the sun for half an hour. The inside of the railway station is also very impressive, decorated with sculpted oranges.

      I've been there a couple times for food and shopping but I didn't shoot there apart from one shot. I don't like taking photos that close to people if im honest. I feel like an intruder

  • @cowslaw

    It's reassuring to hear another photographer express the difficulty of trying to convey what you're seeing with your eyes in the actual image. So often will you be in a space you KNOW would make a great photo, and even if it looks like your composition is just right, you get back to your computer and just feel deflated that you couldn't do it justice. Oh well, that's why we keep at it I guess. Hardest lesson to learn is that you can shoot for an entire day and only get a couple good-to-great images!

    Did you ever consider the X-S20? Smaller size with X-H2 ergonomics. The cheapest of the lineup too

  • @dccoletrain
    @dccoletrain 11 месяцев назад

    You might like the XS20 with the PASM dial. Small with a grip. Older sensor and not weather sealed though. Seems like a few RUclipsrs are starting to use it for their video instead of the XH2S since it does many of the same things much cheaper

    • @snapsbyfox
      @snapsbyfox  11 месяцев назад +1

      it's nice but no weather sealing is a deal breaker for me

    I bought your new book. First glance looks great. Can I ask if the lens focal lengths you mention in the zoom / prime chapters are geared towards apsc cameras rather than full frame ones? So when the book mentions 50mm, is that an actual 50mm Fuji lens. Might be obvious question but I'm a beginner.

    • @snapsbyfox
      @snapsbyfox  11 месяцев назад +4

      Thank you so much! In general I now mention focal lengths at full frame terms now. Most people understand that and most don't shoot on APSC. Finally by mentioning full frame numbers, it's easier for people to convert that to their specific systems such as M43 or Medium Format.

    Hello Roman, I find it interesting what you are saying about the xt5 vs the xh2. You never said such a thing when you had the xt4, but did you feel the same? I am just asking because I’m looking to trade in my xt4 and I’m hesitating on giving up on the dial and trade it for the xh2…or even change system but I find Fuji cameras too cute to leave haha
    I was also considering the xs-20 but this is just because I do a lot more videos but I didn’t like it for photos when I tried it… too many cameras, not enough money 😂

    • @snapsbyfox
      @snapsbyfox  11 месяцев назад +1

      even with the XT4 I never really used the top dials much. Instead I used the thumb scroll wheels. Also I had nothing to compare it to. I go through phases where I prefer one system over the other tbh. Give me 6 months and I will be back to top dials. id go for the XT5 tbh

    • @marlenelandstravels
      @marlenelandstravels 11 месяцев назад

      Haha ok. Actually Erin uses the Xt5 and his videos are stunning, so it’s not the camera, it’s the user expertise at the end of the day. My only issue is that I need to see myself otherwise I’d have gone for it. Thanks for responding 😊
