As a Lisboner, I am truly proud to see a video like this. You really captured the city’s soul, showcasing some great spots. You are right; I have been street shooting here for more than 15 years, and this city calls for a 50-85mm lens. You have a really good eye! It gives the photos a “cinematic” vibe for the lack of a better word 😂 “movie scene” maybe. Kinda like nyc but the streets being much narrower and cars parked everywhere, you really need to isolate subjects for that matter. By the way, Mouraria is pronounced "Moura-reeea." 😅 And cascais is even easier. Ca$h-caish. (say it fast).
Great video, I don't quite understand the problems you had with some of the locals, I go to Lisbon 3-4 times a year doing street photography and never had a single issue.
Excelent stuff! You guys visited many of the interesting parts of the city. When crossing the river, I'll skip the passenger boats and take the ferry (the one that also carries cars), which allows you to go outside and take some photos. Also the ferry leaving from Belém let's you photograph the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Torre de Belém and Mosteiro dos Jerónimos from the river. Also my prefered photos at Sunrise are from the docks almost below the bridge, you showed some images from there, because of the colour on the bridge and the river. If you're ever back in Lisbon, get in touch. Hope you had a great time here!
This is more Travel Photography than Street. I see a lot of youngish youtubers doing the same and I think this is diluting what Street actually is and conflating it with Travel or Cityscape. The result is a lot of people posting Travel or Cityscape in Street Photography groups not understanding that their shots are not Street.
I took a photo of my ramen. This makes me a street photographer because the ramen shop is in the street. It also makes me a food photographer. Ramen was in a bowl. It makes me a bowl photographer. I had a glass of water and took a photo of water. It makes me a seascape photographer.
@@matsefcik - the problem is not what you call yourself, the problem is what people might think Street Photography is, and includes, after watching your video.

Thanks for the kind words! And appreciate the corrections 😅 We kept going back and forth with different pronunciations of Cascais haha

I took a photo of a cat while I was there, few birds too. Guess that makes me wildlife photographer.
