It's not just Patsy's beautiful, incomparable voice and her exquisite phrasing. It's that sparkle in her eyes. It's her utter sincerity and warmth, her calm, assured intelligence, her charm, humor and courage. Such depth of character, such a lovely, bright, sensitive soul. When she sings, when she looks into that camera and straight into your soul, the connection is direct and deep, and for a shining moment she is alive again, singing just for you. What a woman. What an artist. What a terrible loss.

A truly great singer, and a genuinely nice lady. In that 1961 car accident, she was thrown into the windshield, and also had a broken wrist and dislocated hip. The facial injury alone might sink the career of a rising-star 60s female singer, yet she insisted (as her friend Dottie West was pulling glass from her hair) that the other driver receive treatment first. This performance per the description was Feb 23, 1963. The plane crash that took her from us was 10 days later, Mar 5, 1963.

Many of those late night drives, where the night skies of S Utah & far N AZ are largely uninhabited for miles in every direction, it was the perfect time for broken heart songs. I wore out that CD &, thankfully, the heart break finally lessened. Here’s to you Ms Patsy!🍾♥

So beautiful with an Angelic voice. When I listen to Patsy, I always think of my Dad too (RIP) who loved her and was here too with her in the physical. We would listen to Patsy often when I would come over for our weekly dinner nights.

I was introduced to this spine-tingling voice from my friend Debbie, who played "Crazy" over and over on our drives. There is a phenomenal quality to her singing that makes every wafting note cut right to your heart. Each time you hear a Patsy Cline song, that voice still grabs hold of you and never lets go.

Goosebump city!!!!Patsy Cline would have been 90 today-one of the best singers ever singing one of the best country songs ever-hell,one of the best songs ever!!!This was written by Hank Cochran and Harlan Howard. For my money,Harlan was one of the finest songwriters ever.Patsy put this out in 1961,and before she could go out on the road to promote it,she was in a car wreck. It went to #1 on the Country Billboard chart, then crossed over to the Pop Billboard chart and went to #12.We love you Patsy-you and your music will never die in our hearts

Utterly flawless performance ! Patsy's artistic mastery is such that here she has exalted a song , one which I have always thought of as merely good , to the ultimate level of sublimity . And furthermore , the whole arrangement , backing harmonies , and instrumentation , etc , is superb. I've never seen or heard a better live performance .

Patsy Cline, I fall To Pieces : Never before a better, or even an equal, vocal by a female country artist. There are some things that can never be duplicated. This is one of those things. In a similarity to your post, song4night, I fell to pieces when I first heard this "cry of a broken heart". Growing up in Northwest Arkansas through the 50s and 60s found me cutting my music eye teeth on this lady and others of her generation. They still burn in my memory.

There are really no words, but I'll try. What a beautiful woman and the voice of an angel. There is no tech. just pure singing. She has such presence. It seems that all of her songs are about heartache and loss, but some way, still beautiful. Patsy, I know you are up in Heaven making God cry.

Her voice gives me goosebumps every time. She makes me proud to be born out in the country. Her music makes me feel like I’m home, which is weird because I’ve never been one to listen to very much country. When I do it’s real country. I can’t really listen to modern country because I almost feel ashamed knowing she lived and shared her voice with us. ❤️R.I.P Patsy Cline

She makes me cry every time I listen to her singing "Crazy" or this beautiful song. Her voice comes from her heart. Of course credit has to be given to the composer of this song and the rest of songs that she recorded. But her melancholic voice adds certain magic to her songs. Just beautiful.

+shawn harold fox firth AMEN!!! And our great lady did it without "auto-tune." LIVE. PERFECT every time. In fact, this is why ALL singers of previous eras must be considered superior: NO ONE sat in a booth and "fixed" notes they couldn't hit...tunes they couldn't "carry," and "vocal sounds" they couldn't make. Elvis used to do as many as 40 takes WITH band to make it perfection...everything live. Lucky we are that we lived in the day before "we'll fix it in editing." HA! Sweet Dreams to You. xoxo P

All the singers today are Plugged into computers , Close ? they be lucky to get close enough to sniff it , the power and depth of range and emotion of the Lady's that came before Like Patsy Aretha June Carter Were Not Plugged in to anything , hell the backup singers were better than the stars of today , the women who sang on the Stones Gimme Shelter She walked in on short notice and layed it down in one take Haunting , and Rosemary butler's performance on Jackson Brown's Stay , listen to the live 1978 version Powerful , Oh and Linda Ronstadt , I could go on , if anyone would like to mention another please do , No the girls of today Without the Autotune and Computer polishing Are no more than really good Karaoke . . . .My wife says Save for Whitney and Mariah Carey , and now that I think of it an Honorable mention is the Late Great Amy Winehouse . . . .

My mom and Dad knew her very well... I can barley Recall Just a Beautiful and Wonderful singer as her only other was Loretta Lynn and Doolittle.. Ate many a Meal at the old Plantation Home With all of us setting around the Table.. I'm 69 now and I miss them all so much..Pasty would let me set on her lap When she sang..the only song I Wouldn't let her set still on was I go out walking after Midnight..it broke my heart into when I hear of the plane Crash... Rip Pasty...
