  • Apologies in advance, I forgot to make the episode capture footage transparent so I had to edit this a bit more heavily than usual.
In any case, we have another episode of Succession, wherein a Proxy War and a restructuring of Vaulter ensues....
As always, Dear Mr/Mrs "Manual Reviewer" please take not that this video is REACTION VIDEO and therefore, has edited clips that help differ it from it's original state. Coupled with my reactions and commentary, I believe you'll find all my paperwork in order.

I think a key word you may be searching for in terms of the difference between Ken and Rome's approach to business is, "gut instincts". And you were precisely correct that that is what Logan values.

Your analysis is so on point lmao. I think Tom is very capable but he's trying to do a lot of big shit so he looks pathetic at times. Roman has a good social game and he's a culture fit but no one takes him seriously, Kendall is like a corporate suit but no concept of understanding people. Shiv turning down the Chief of Staff position was just crazy to me but it shows how much they're all in deep with Logan. That would have been such a major move for her political career but she was clearly not serious about it like Logan said in season 1.

Ken went through all the stuff that got suggested to Shiv by Logan, and more. You could see it as Logan seriously considering Shiv for CEO. It'll get her experience in business (because she was in a completely different field).
one reason you missed for Logan ordering Ken to gut Vaulter, it'll hurt him and keep him under his thumb longer. Also, Roman has got some intuition for business, but he is not serious person as Ken said in s1e2.

tbf, they all are not "serious people", Roman just being more goofy about and actually knows it about himself

@@nickrubin7312 big disagree on that one. If Ken wasn't serious Logan wouldn't have gotten (almost) a stroke, and if Shiv wasn't serious then Gil wouldn't have offered her the position of Chief of Staff (if you don't know what that is then look it up.)

I don't think Shiv messed Tom up in the bedroom.
At the start of the episode, he was super horny, and she felt unsure of her position and so wasn't in the right headspace for it.
After she tells him about Logan's offer, his world is crumbling. He could handle the open relationship when he had that light at the end of the tunnel of climbing the ladder at Waystar.
Now he doesn't even have that, so his relationship is becoming very unhappy. But he still wants to appear supportive for Shiv because she has the power in the relationship. So he hides his doubts and fears.
Now, when Shiv is feeling good and initiates contact, he's the one that's not in the mood. And what's implied but not shown directly is that he probably tells her he has a cold as an excuse for not wanting to have sex with her.
And in this scene we don't see, Shiv is probably skeptical of his "cold", but accepts it begrudgingly, which leads to the sarcastic comment "he has a cold and wants everyone to know" later.

Ahhh I see, I hadn't considered it from that angle. I appreciate the insight and clarification. Again, goes to show how nuanced aspects of characters and scene context are in this show. Thanks for watching!
