This episode was a perfect setup for the finale, while giving us a look at the Roy kids on their home turf. Between their father & mother, you can definitely see why they developed the habits & neurosis they did. The finale is so damn good! Can’t wait

idk how anyone can see how compromised logan is in terms of his moral and ethical views and think, oh the woman he loves married and admires is a good person. marcia is as opportunistic and self interested as anyone in the family, thinking first and foremostly about her future and that of her own son (unrelated to the roy siblings). i do believe that your partner is a reflection of yourself and marcia is good to logan and good for logan and supports him always and as long as it benefits her. while c~nt is the word, marcia is also completely right about shiv, shiv is an inept child who thinks she has a pawn to play with when shes hardly even in the game and is only really a rebellious nuisance at this moment. she thinks she can have any influence over her fathers world when she isnt even in the business and is not a factor and as far as logan is concerned, never will be. also Caroline (the roy kids’ mum) is so unserious and unsupportive and such a nothing in her kids lives and i cant enjoy her while knowing that she too has a big part to play in how loveless her children are, how empty and half baked and miserable they are.
Season 2 is my favorite of the 4 because I love the way the storyline for that season builds but the show just gets better and better.
Can't wait!
The show only gets better from this point. Like, just turbo-charged in terms of writing, acting and dramatic tension. Its up there with Breaking Bad, The Sorpranos, The Wire, Fargo and Dark in my opinion. Jesse Armstrong is a genius.
Missed this last night as im in the UK. Im so here for this now after a few pints and a doob. Ive seen the 1st 3 seasons a few times but im just gonna rewatch the whole thing again via your channel. Man, I love Marcia lmao. She's the most ride or die character in season 1. I guess I just appreciate her standing by her husband no matter how wrong he is. Plus, the kids are brats. She was right in the hospital, right to keep them away when he was recovering, and she has been a huge help to Logan. She can hold her own better than a lot of the main characters.
There definitely seems to be a contingent of Succession fans who are Marcia stans for sure lol I get it, but it may still take some time for me to come around. Thanks for watching
kids are brats, against Logan being abusive, and Marcia suggesting that kids should suck it up to Logan's abuse just because he gives them money. She's just like Caroline in my opinion.
@kvm6 She's not like Caroline because she isn't their mother. Her only job is to be loyal to Logan. The kids also haven't done anything to earn sympathy from her as they treat her poorly.

The kids are justified in treating her poorly because she wanted double voting power after Logan's passing. And as I mentioned, suggests kids to suck it up to abuse.
Also her disdain for Willa shows how classicist she is.
What I wouldn't give for a succession prequel.. I feel like season 1 begins where most series would end
i mean i don’t know what you’re talking about when it comes to marcia,, she’s logan’s wife, she gets to do whatever she is that she’s doing
Feels like that's like saying "Oh, she was Ted Bundy's wife, so she can aid and abet all she wants" lol
Jokes aside, I get it. It's been pointed out to me in previous episodes that the family hasn't been kind to her either and have even gone as far as to drop racist or insinuating remarks.
As I've mentioned throughout the commentaries, I don't have any context for this family prior to Episode 1. And I didn't come out the gate immediately disliking her character either. Perhaps it's a testament to the actress herself, as It's mostly just the way she acts and delivers her lines that manages to infuriate me. The show focuses primarily on the kids and their dynamic to Logan, so to both them and the viewer (me) she feels like an outsider who is gradually asserting herself more and more, and now over-stepping to the point of insulting and ridiculing the kids.
Logan calling his daughter a coward feels more like a reflex of insecurity and generational trauma, while Marcia calling her a "spoiled slut" somehow feels more vindictive and personal. At least in my eyes. Even if that's not entirely the case.

@@MovieMan101 well that’s hardly comparable to a situation like ted bundy! but just to say that marcia isn’t no one you know? like she isn’t just a “stepmom”. she’s an important person in logan’s life, at least emotionally speaking. i do get that u just find her annoying, we all have characters that annoy us
I admit my initial comparison was more of a hyperbolic joke, but I do agree with you. Again, I think a lot of it is based in sympathy and having the proper context. I just gotta work on engaging more in putting myself in her shoes during some of these scenes. But yeah, like you said, some characters will just annoy us regardless of what they are actually doing/saying on screen. I was the same way with Greg at first (couldn't stand him, didn't think very highly of him) but as time goes on I've grown to be more and more fond of him. Perhaps, with. time, I'll feel a similar way for Marcia.@@razanfk9906
I mean, she is, indeed, Logan's wife, but she is not their mother and she has 0 rights to insert herself in the relationship of children and their father, especially the manner of this type of insertion like she is entitled to tell them how to behave, interact with their father, teach them something. That's not saying they are good people, that is just saying "who the f she is to speak like that to Shiv", especially when it is obvious that she has her own game and probably married for benefits of Logan being who he is in a first place.
