HA! I didn't know they had a radio show dedicated just to them!!!
Very cool interview! Didn't know they had planned to make another album shortly after Pool It. Wonder what that would have sounded like.
Micky said he was going to work on a Monkees movie but obviously nothing materialized. I do remember talk of one since the 20th anniversary made them a hot property again. Perhaps the second wave of Monkeemania cooled off before getting it off the ground. Or perhaps the guys weren't satisfied with the scripts. Nine years later we got the TV movie to help promote Justus but I didn't think it was up to par and could have been better. It's a shame really.
MegaMagicdog yes. And that Lifetime movie was horrible.
I told someone on here that Davy did not know how to play any instruments, but they were like yeah he did... Micky just said here in the interview that he (Davy) did not indeed know how to play any instruments..
Davy DID. He could play the bass in '68, covering for Peter live while the latter was on keyboards. He picked up the guitar quickly and played a bit of organ on "Circle Sky".
Edit: how could I forget? He also covered for Micky on the drums. In fact, Peter said Davy was the better drummer at the time.
