I knew there must be a name for that Ship control, but had no real idea what it was. So had to do some googling and it's the:
Engine order telegraph or E.O.T., also referred to as a Chadburn
And it sends the order from the bridge down to the engine room. Originally via bells ringing at the other end to send or say they had set the signal.
