Mind Over Magic looks like fun. Theme matters (even more so when it's not pasted on). I like the art style and there are some interesting asset and animation choices. Funny aside: Even though wholly unrelated, the sideways view of the rooms under the surface often remind me of the original X-Com. Fingers crossed this project develops well. Thanks for sharing! All the best. Edit: I followed the Steam page link, wishlisted the title to keep it on my radar and then looked at what else Sparkypants (ha) has made (I'm familiar with the publisher Klei and have enjoyed a number of their games). Oddly, this is the only game listed on their page... outside of one other that has a positive rating and comes up as "Uninitialized" - and is in my library (same within the Steam app). I wonder what that is. Even if it's a demo that's been removed, this is the first time I've seen this error on Steam. Hmm. This is the only game listed on SteamDB and on the Sparkypants website. Hmm. I guess a demo that no longer exists makes the most sense, then - especially given that the game was released into early access a year ago (time flies). An inaccessible positively rated mystery game. Edit 2: Apparently this is a thing that's been happening for a long while - close to a decade from what I've seen. The most controversial related news is when Ubisoft recently requested that Assassin's Creed: Black Flag be delisted, which not only removed it from the store, but from people's libraries - in order to resell an as yet unreleased remastered version they're working on (!). This means if you bought this (or other) games from Steam, you no longer have access to what you paid for. It's somewhat surprising that Steam has a) allowed this unethical activity (that should be illegal) and b) decided not to fix the listing error. Laws pertaining to consumer rights, especially in the video game industry, aren't on the same table as kosher.
farthest frontier just got a new update 0.9.6 in the testing branch....i think it is a great city builder now that i can have boars, bears, and wolves and zero human raiders....it is going to be one of the best games of next year when it goes into 1.0.....a banished successor mind over magic look OK....but i really don't like building the rooms and stocking them with items i'd rather just plop them and manage other high level tasks....not decorating....
