Pity the original investigating team did not bother to follow such leads and instead pinned it on Bailey. How on Earth do you ignore a link with organised crime and people hiding from them?

From Sophie passenger seat of her rented car found pushed all the way back which is what Bailey does when getting a lift off someone due to being very tall, to buying bleach the day after the murder, to having a bon fire in his house a few days after. Bailey and Sophie had been seen at a book festival together in another town by a credible witness, a year before the murder.

It seems like a very remote place to be walking. Whoever murdered the poor woman was more than likely a local / neighbour I mean who's out in the freezing cold at 3am.
The time of death is anywhere from around midnight to 10am. The police were so incompetent they did not get the local doctor to take her temperature to establish approximate time of death. With such a window of several hours it could be anybody in Ireland or even France!
I personally think the guards in Skull were more concerned about setting him up than actually solving this case. The behaviour they got up to was shameful and prejudice at best.

Because it is alleged to be a Guard who drove a blue Ford Fiesta. A Ford Fiesta was witnessed being driven dangerously, overtaking on a bend near the scene at 730am on the morning of Sophie's murder. Some locals maintain that Sophie was killed by a Guard who was a bit of a letch and the Gardai covered it up.
