    These clarinets and bassethorns are incredibly sweet and warm. I adore these instruments

    Love the sound of natural horns. So glad classical musicians have begun embracing period instruments.

    I'm beginning to think Alfredo Bernardini has green fingers with music, everything he takes part in gets a special dimension... Dancing - swinging - breathing - enjoying - and then some...

    What tone center are these instruments tuned to? traditional A=415, or modern A=440

  • @grundmannquartet3916

    No, he didn't, but he told everybody to count in 4 per bar and not in 8.

    • @Sshooter444
      @Sshooter444 9 лет назад +1

      Come on, stop trolling. Largo is one of Mozart's slowest tempos. It's clearly in 8. If he wanted it faster he wouldn't have used Largo. Go look at the autographed score.

    • @grundmannquartet3916
      @grundmannquartet3916 9 лет назад +1

      Sshooter444 Mozart told you it is in 8? And wrote in the autograph 4/4? I know tradition has it in 8, but tradition isn't always right. But everybody should do as he/she likes. I, for instance, like much more the Vivaldi 4 seasons on accordion then this Largo in 8. I can also tell you why; if you play it in 8 the supposed light & little comments of the clarinet to the whole group become much to serious. Instead of an immediate dialogue and mockery of himself, the whole thing becomes only solemn.

    • @Forcroi
      @Forcroi 8 лет назад +8

      Actually, the scoring calls for a double bass. Double bassoon is only used to replace it sometimes.

      Mozart marked the part as "contrabassoon or contrabass." So either one can be used, but this version uses a bass.

      to play standing on is better for breathing. every wind player knows that and prefers to play in that way.
