What a treat to hear this played with the original instruments! It’s like getting one step closer to what was going on in Mozart head when he wrote the genius piece. So gorgeous!
ANTONIO SALIERI: On the page it looked nothing. The beginning simple, almost comic. Just a pulse. Bassoons and basset horns, like a rusty squeezebox. And then suddenly, high above it, an oboe. A single note, hanging there, unwavering. Until a clarinet took over and sweetened it into a phrase of such delight! This was no composition by a performing monkey! This was a music I'd never heard. Filled with such longing, such unfulfillable longing, it had me trembling. It seemed to me that I was hearing the voice of God. (Peter Shaffer, Amadeus)
Beautiful.I hear it every day and tears come rolling on my face. You just have to surrender to a genius that will never appear again in earth . Thank you Wolfang Amadeus
I heard this for the first time this morning on Classic FM. It is hauntingly beautiful & watching the ensemble who have such emotion, makes it even more beautiful.
The biggest disservice that our education system is doing to our kids is not showing them why this music is so much better than the popular music of today.
Having played both modern-day oboes & B flat clarinet, I can truly envision how Mozart's masterpiece must have sounded with instruments much more difficult to play. Kudos to these players.
Just a Burger? Just a burger. Robin, it's so much more than 'just a burger.' I mean... that first bite-oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then... a pickle! The most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a... a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, Robin. This is God, speaking to us through food.

Meraviglia ! :)
Period instruments, looks like. Significant improvement. More intimate sound. Continuo accompaniment stays in the background where it belongs. Leisurely performance, probably what was intended. Bravo.
Excellent performance of that ethereal piece! But what are the two hornists on the left are doing? They are not playing at all. Granted, the piece is for two horns, not for four. So are they on the stage because they belong to the ensemble?
It was 1984. I had four and a half hours to kill before catching my Greyhound home. There were several movies in downtown Iowa City to see, mostly teen comedies. I had to choose between two movies I didn't really want to see, "Amadeus" and "Beverly Hills Cop". I chose the former and have since seen it three times more. What a great choice! (I caught "Beverly Hills Cop" on TV a few years back. It was pretty good but not "Amadeus")
Normally on classical instruments the pitch is 432! That's somewhere in the middle of baroque pitch and modern pitch (depending on the country)! Definitely takes your eyes getting used to when you are rehearsing on classical instruments next to a room with people playing at modern pitch :-)

Simple like that.
What a movie indeed. I’m going to watch it on a big screen with a live orchestra and choir, next month. I can’t wait for it
R.A.D. Stainforth Just one historical inaccuracy: There were no squeezeboxes back then.
Beautiful.I hear it every day and tears come rolling on my face. You just have to surrender to a genius that will never appear again in earth . Thank you Wolfang Amadeus
Lo abbiamo visto il film..
Almeno io...
Probably the best - most beautiful, most serene - version of this adagio I have found on RUclips!
Thanks Natalia. We hope to see you to one of our concerts!
only a genious like Mozart can compose this jewells forever
Bravo the Ensemble Zefiro for a sublime rendering of the sublime Master!
I heard this for the first time this morning on Classic FM. It is hauntingly beautiful & watching the ensemble who have such emotion, makes it even more beautiful.
Those period instruments are a trip. The basset horns look so crazy.
The period instruments make the piece more warm and intimate to me.
I can't describe the ways in which this moves me. This is the most beautiful music I have ever heard.
A lovely performance on period instruments. Fabulous.
This is so beautifully performed! Such a wonderful piece of music.
I didn't expect this version to be the best on RUclips, but what a pleasant surprise!
Well said!
I like the LSO Wind Ensemble performance better. ruclips.net/video/NecLh4YOT9M/видео.html
Sublime!
This version is far more authentic of how it must have sounded in its time - note the contemporary wind instruments.
@@kuenc8344 - A fine performance, but imho, nothing like as authentic and subtle of its time as this Zefiro version.

Surely you mean the parents.

"and then, suddenlly...
...an oboe"
(Antonio Salieri)
The opening, and especially the simple oboe note that comes in at 0:34 sends an amazing warm feeling through the body. Perfect.
And then suddenly an oboe
This was always there; Mozart wrote it down! Genius.

Simply heavenly.
Fantastic performance
Lovely performance. Thanks for posting
Lots of super, exquisitely, sexy, subtle performances by all on what, I think, are period instruments. Immaculate, superb musicianship.

This is so absolutely beautiful!
Meraviglia ! :)
great interpretation

Exquisite and mesmerizing! Bravo!
Mozart doesn't get any better than this.
Divine music from the Master.

2021. Belgrade...bassoon,horne..sublime!
Bravi. Mille Grazie
thanks for this treat.
Beautiful
Music given to us by a man that died very early, imagine if he lived to a ripe old age.
Period instruments! Obviously they took care to use the same generation of instruments Mozart used!
Juste Sublime.

They need to record all the Mozart wind music.
Brilliant faultless
very educational...baroque instruments up close
instruments from the early 'classical' period 1760's+
magic
There are 3 basic things in performance: rhythm, sound, and intonation.
Ah, I love A=432 pitch!
I heard it out of tune, but from what you said I assume that my ears just aren't used to that temperament.
Divino
nice ornamentation!
what is the texture of this peace called?
I had this on CD as Serenade number 9, not 10.
¡Uy! ¡Exquisito!
Thanjks
To be enjoyed whilst sipping a long, dark, scotch and still water at room temperature..... milk chocolate with whole hazelnuts.
Heb ervan genoten
lol the basset horns look like boomerangs
0:10 Mozart Serenade for winds K.361
How divine
They already have, on the defunct Astree label.
So jazzy ! without drums !

Wow, this piece is good, BUT THEY MADE IT BETTER WITH THE NATURAL HORNS!
