    Given the simple connectors, do you need to disconnect the battery before doing this?

    • @profsg
      @profsg  3 месяца назад

      No need to disconnect the battery for this job, unless it's part of electrical rewiring, charging/alternator-related work, or more involved jobs where electrical wiring/components can be affected.

    I've been trying to find out how to replace the license plate lights. If you could provide some insight, it will help get my van inspected and registered!
    Thnx!!

      Don't take my words but I believe you will have to remove inner tailgate panels (below rear window glass) in order to access the license plate light harness. It's rather straightforward as I have done it multiple times. Here is a video on a newer generation of Odyssey and the procedure on the older generation is rather similar: ruclips.net/video/or8v7IRSxZw/видео.html
      Hope this helps.

      Turns out my instincts were spot on. Each one requires a firm push to the right to remove them. Took me about 10 pages before I found it. Thnx for the inner tail light video!!

    My tailgate handle cover is super tough to come out and I’m scared it might brake, any tips?

      In this case, you may consider removing the tailgate panel/trims on the internal side to access fasteners for the handle, license plate, etc. so you can loosen them from behind. It takes some patience but the removal is straightforward by prying them from retainer clips. Here is a related video on 2011 and later models: ruclips.net/video/or8v7IRSxZw/видео.htmlsi=r3EEvWpfuhk29fQk
      Don't take my word but, from what I remember for a job on the handle, getting access to 2005-2010 Odyssey tailgate handle/license plate is rather similar.

    How come so many other videos show the people taking the entire inner tailgate interior panel off? It seems like you should be able to get to all the screws without taking off the entire panel. You did. Mine is a 2018 so maybe it’s different.

    • @profsg
      @profsg  Год назад +2

      It is easier with the panel removed, but it is possible without that step. Just have to be careful because you do need to pry what's above the license plate so you can wiggle the inner assembly out.

    Anyone can unscrew screws and turn lightbulb connectors to remove them. My Odyssey has a third connector that is impossible to remove and nobody has the balls to make a video on how to disconnect it

      I didn’t have such a difficult screw or connector on this model but am curious about it. How is it impossible to remove? Is it because of the space to access? Personally I found Honda vehicles relatively easy/spacious to work on. Happy to review the problem.
