It's not necessarily wrong. It still keeps the shutter speed down, and creates other effects such as helping with more pleasing saturation. If you are referring to achieving the 180 rule, then yes you need manual mode. However, this is not that important with the type of cameras that most drones have nowadays. They don't have the internal physical/mechanical characteristics that make the 180 rule important.
Good evening Shaun! Do you what’s amazing just how these third party manufacturers can get accessories for these and other drones so quickly, the neo has only been available for a couple of weeks! Good one as usual see you in the next one sooooooon.👍👍👍👍👍
Shaun no offence meant , when using filters dial in the settings in pro mode for shutter speed and ISO to get proper results , although you set in to Pro it was really still on auto iso and shutter speed when you looked at the settings , try locking the ISO to 100 for best quality in bright daytime using a suitable filter that will allow you to drop the shutter speed to about twice the chosen frame rate , if the first filter turns out to give too dark an image at that speed then swap over to a lower ND number , too bright then go up in ND numbers , you can lock the frame rate once it is set correctly hard to explain in txt , maybe sounds awkward but once you get used to it you will get the best use from the filters , if you put the light graph on screen in settings that will give you a ballpark where you need to be , try and get the peaks in about the middle of the graph and not all squeezed over to the left or right of the graph . wish I was there, I could show easier than I can type 😅
Thank you Steve for your comment and as you see I'm not into all the settings for the ND filters. What I did notice on my full screen back at home, it looked a bit grainy but that could be me but I will be using filters on the Neo as here it's a bit bright for such a small camera. Many thanks for watching and your support.
@@shaunthedrone where you live you would probably get better results in auto using one of the CP filters 8 or 16 , you know how good your polarised sunglasses are to cheap plain ones lol
Great video thanks, the nd 32 really seemed to improve the image, anything to help this little drone is a plus, keep up the good work, greetings from wet and windy Ireland
To be honest with auto exposure the footage looks a bit better, but no difference when yiu put on the filters cause it cranks up the iso and you wouldn't need it. With nd 16 on ISO 100 this would have been much better.
I think it would be great if author can actually learn how to use ND filters. Using them with auto settings is just wrong.
Many thanks for your comment Alexey.

You still used auto exposure settings so I appreciate your effort however it doesn't really help me ❤
Many thanks for watching Rudy, I will try to use the exposure settings next week on the FREEWELL filters with the Bright Day 3 Pack

Thank you Brian, they contacted me a few days after the launch and I believe they have more filters for the Neo. Many thanks for watching.

try locking the ISO to 100 for best quality in bright daytime
using a suitable filter that will allow you to drop the shutter speed to about twice the chosen frame rate ,
if the first filter turns out to give too dark an image at that speed then swap over to a lower ND number ,
too bright then go up in ND numbers , you can lock the frame rate once it is set correctly
hard to explain in txt , maybe sounds awkward but once you get used to it you will get the best use from the filters ,
if you put the light graph on screen in settings that will give you a ballpark where you need to be , try and get the peaks in about the middle of the graph and not all squeezed over to the left or right of the graph .

Thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed the video. Many thanks for watching.
32 looked the best to me Shaun! Think the market for the bright ones back home will be poor.😅
Thank you Paul for your comment and your probably correct for the UK :)
@shaunthedrone By the way gave you a mention to the Roberts saying I subbed to them through you and which I did! He said I must thank Shaun for that.😊

Freewell cada vez es más rápido en sacar los filtros, antes incluso que Dji👏👏👏
Muy cierto, incluso para la nueva cámara DJI Action 5 obtuvieron filtros ND. Muchas gracias por mirar.

Well that was a waste of time mate, no difference cose it was still on auto so not good advert for the filters or freewell !
Many thanks for watching the video and your comment.
Try the 180 rule. And use the filters that give you the best picture
Many thanks for the tip, just made another video with the new Freewell ND PL filters. Many thanks for watching.
Thanks that helps and all the comments help too
Thank you Joseph, glad it helped and thanks for watching.
I would rather choose not to install any filter in front of lens as I believe that any filter would damage the image quality one way or ther other.
Good question Ray, also by fitting a filter to the lens will protect the camera lens. Many thanks for watching.
Nice! I like the looks of the filters 😃🐈⬛🐾🐝🍻👍
