18:00 Thinking back is just straight embarrassing i was SO NAIVE thinking everyone had good intention for me and the team, when i first got into the workforce that wasn't a minimum wage job, man did i get a rude awakening.
I am an attorney who worked in big law and I will 100 percent say that the ONLY thing stressing me out was the ofice politics. If everyone minded their business, the workspace would be *chefs kiss. I am seeing the politics phase out with the older generation exiting the work force but boy do we have a long way to go.
My company put me on the PIP as far as July if I recall. In September, they still had me on the PIP and said my percentage was down from previous months. I said I request coaching. A month later, still no coaching. Company is all BS. Can't wait to get a lawyer if they lay me off without giving me my severance package. They have yet to provide documentation in terms of previous discussions about my performance.
Yeah, moving into corporate America from the little start up where I began my career was a rude awakening 😅 I appreciate videos like this for the wake up call that they are
I got laid off at june, ever since then. I implemented a detailed budgeting strategy, tracking every expense and setting clear spending limits across all categories. In just six months, I saved over $60,000, giving me a strong sense of financial security and the ability to invest in my future. This approach has transformed the way I manage money, and I now feel more confident than ever about achieving my long-term goals.
The strategy was all thanks to Lorrie Greta Hillard, a brilliant financial advisor. She helped me create a personalized budgeting plan, track my expenses, and prioritize savings effectively. Her expertise made all the difference in reaching my financial goals!
Thank you Ms Resa. This is new knowledge for me, especially about Layoff, PIP, & Office Politic 😅. I just wanna be myself like others to workplace with relax but serious (work life balance).
I never understood corporate anything, I had joined one job, my first job ever and I was basically… over the wall because I had been socially isolated for a very long time before getting into the public again, it was as a food service worker in a nursing home and I always had decent behavior and showed up on time but I was extremely slow for their tastes when it was fast runned which isn’t completely my fault, i thought i could do it. I had run ins with my finger printing which is apart of my background check and that is when they put me on a PIP, i wholly believe that it had nothing to do with my speed and had more to do that i couldn’t complete my background check because my fingerprints were no good. Anyways, I ended up leaving the company due to the fact I had to move back home, i tried to move into an apartment and i had no car and the area was really really bad so i had a panic attack and had to get dragged back by an ex-coworker all the way to my original city and go back home, thankfully it’s all good now, but, hopefully if i join another company i attempt to do things right and not be afraid to admit my faults which are… I’m slow when it comes to tasks. Perfectionistic and I think, thorough? Last one is definitely a strength though.
How can you be accountable if you don't know the data? I'm not excusing her behavior but sometimes management can be less then forthcoming on what the issue really is and laying out exactly why your demanding more from the employee...I'm just saying I have had so many interactions where it's just a power trip and it's not actually anything I'm doing wrong but just that people feel iv crossed some imaginary line which can be a bit confusing sometimes and frustrating
She had the data. I don’t know your personal situation but most of my conversation is about the negative intentions of people. Hence the discussion on office politics.
@Resasue oh for sure,I loved the video and learnt a lot,I agreed with most of it and think it's a shame that working with people is so grueling at times
@@ResaquinnI loved the video and think it's great insight and looking forward to more,I have definitely experienced people trying to hold me back and nit picking cause they feel threatened,it's awful and I really hate workplace politics,I'd much rather work alone and at my own pace then being barked at all day
Great video but I am really confused. You keep saying when you were younger? You look very young now? I say you are 25-27. I can't imagine you being 30 or older.
@@nuxxy_ I’m sorry you feel this way. Unsure about the aggression, but maybe you missed the messaging of when I tell people you need to escape if your company puts you on a pip. I’m not for or against anything. I just bring awareness of what happens in the corporate world. Much love for your comment. Bless

Oh man I’ve heard so many stories about big law, bless your patience
Shouldve watched Suits
“The older generation”?… if that is what you attribute office politics to then you are blind and will receive a very unpleasant wake up call.
I really like your format. It's nice to see professional black women in this space. So much on social is just noise.
I’m glad you enjoy the format, thank you for that!
I can’t believe this is my first time coming across your channel. Totally a new fan, loved the video 👏🏾
Hi there! Wow thanks, granted I haven’t been consistent much on RUclips but I am now! Thank you for your kind words.
This was very insightful. I’ve been gaining a lot of Korean friends in college and it makes sense as to why they relocated. That’s too much pressure.

I love your story telling! Your personality is amazing 🤩 💕
It’s excellent to see a young Black successful family!
May your family continue to do great things! 🫶🏾

So done with 9-5, its Depressing! How did you manage to save up so much so quickly?

Got it! Thanks for the tip! I was curious, so I looked up Lorrie
9-5 is a complete waste of time!

I really enjoyed your video 😊 New subscriber! I agree that we're all getting screwed.
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Too many people walking around unable to take accountability they are such a nuisance
@@lockhart1895 agreed, some people truly are the problem and ignorance is present.
Right
really? so you dont think you have any accountablility to work with the people around you? seems like you are the ones without resposiblilty here

Does the state of affairs in a nation affect the “corporation?” What about acceptable norms.
Congrats on the pregnancy, Sister. 👍🏾
Lol, I love this. I used the PIP to my advantage actually…☺️😈
