  • If you have a child with chronic symptoms of any sort, you will want to listen to this one. There is so much hope - your child can reverse their symptoms by understanding the mind body connection. And you can be their support.
Dr. Kinderman and Dr. Yanek work with children & teens with chronic pain by using playful, interesting ways of teaching them about the brain's role in their symptoms.
In this interview we talk about their personal pain healing stories, the benefits & challenges of working with kids (oppposed to adults) & also advice for the parents to be able to support their child in the journey of healing.
Kinderman and Yanek recently did a TED talk on their therapy model. Here is the link. • The dual therapist mod...
    And, here is their website.

So practical and useful, as usual! I like that they explained one of the best ways to help our kids is to be sure we are taking charge of our own emotional health as parents and modeling "giving ourselves space & putting words to what we are feeling".

This was so helpful and eye opening… being as my pain started when I was 12 ❤ I’m 28 now - but I feel like I’m able to go back and see how I was thinking back then when it all started

Not sure what you’re asking tom. The brain can absolutely cause inflammation in the body but that reduces as we do the work.
