This game is fantastic on pcvr. Some people hate on it because it's more of an "experience" than a "game" but I think that's ridiculous. There is nothing else like it in vr. That coupled with the great visuals and feeling you get swimming is worth it to me.
@gustavobarandas2012 Both. Although depending on your definition of a "game", id say most people would classify it more as an experience (it's really just item collecting). But that doesn't detract from how good it is.
How is psvr2 knocking it our ofnthe park? If they made more exclusives then yes. But as it stands it looks like sony is just relying on other devs to port their games wich always come later on psvr2.
@@stefandinu6389 If it had the exact same pancake lenses & Dual LCD Display(s) as Quest 3 i'd be all over PSVR2 specifically or VR gaming. But as is, i think I'm going to sell mine after I play through Alien Rogue Incursion. I barely use the thing anymore. It feels like it's 1-2 generations behind Q3. If PSVR2 gets a headset revision, and use the Q3 as a template and BEST it, i'll be there day one. As is, I'm over it's terrible fresnel lenses. :P And if the next Resident Evil 9(Or Remake) doesn't support PSVR2, than that, right there is the ultimate nail in the coffin. We're not even getting Astro Bot: Rescue Mission for crying out loud.
@@NintenPizza Yes... A headset that outputs better visuals and performance than the Quest 3, with OLED and HDR, along with amazing detailed haptics and adaptive triggers, headset haptics which the quest can't do, as well as dynamic foveated rendering, feels like "1-2 generations behind"... Keep being a fanboy. I'm sure Zuckerberg will give you a cookie one day ;) I hope they never use Q3 as a base, because Sony knows what they're doing when it comes to VR immersion and performance.
I hate to say it but, will it really? Sony pulled back development. I don't know how many quality PS5 VR games are ongoing that we'll see in the future.
And whats the problem@@stefandinu6389? PSVR2 still gets brilliant games and in a far superior technical state than on a Quest 3, and almost on par with great PCs. Who cares if they release a bit later sometimes? Sony will also surely deliver at least 2/3 big games of their own and in the meantime they bring stuff like Hitman WOA, Aces of Thunder, the midnight walk, etc.. Pretty certain we will also get RE9, Ace Combat 9 and other goodies from top devs. VR is still very niche, we cant expect to have 10 first party games every year, they dont even do that on PS5. PSVR2 is fine and 2025 is already shaping up to be a good year imo. Have fun anyway, VR is amazing, no matter the headset. (Sony could do better still, I definitely agree, like at least do some ports of their PSVR1 games)
I have this on pcvr. Psvr2 homies are going to love this. One of the most stunning games, if not the most stunning game I've seen in VR. That added contrast of psvr 2 really will make it pop. 😍
Just checked out the Demo for PSVR2, and i didn't find it stunning at all. it looked far less stunning than even stand alone Quest 3's 'Ocean Rift' and it all has to do with PSVR2's terrible fresnel lenses. Everything is soft, as if the clarity is being masked by a veil. ON Q3, the veil has been lifted, and you're getting a next-gen tack sharp super clear image that the PSVR2 simply put can't provide. I'd love to try Subside with a Q3 paired to a beefy PC rig, but alas, I've got a PS5 is my 'easy' PC instead.
Awesome review dude. Yeah, this is such a special title. Can't wait to play more. Only criticism is they don't have Sonic The Hedgehog drowning music when you start running out of air... 🤣
When new VR technology is introduced especially a headset with eye tracked DFR technology, its always going to take a while before developers truly get the best out of the technology, in February 2023 No Mans Sky on PSVR2 looked pretty bad, but the developers spent 6 months optimising the game to utilise DFR technology and transformed the game into the definitive VR version, Subside just confirms that the PSVR2 is actually a serious PCVR competitor, and when you add in the fact that the PSVR2 is now fully PCVR compatible, I think the PSVR2 is the go to VR headset for 2025.
Played the demo on my pro and it was absolutely beautiful and reminded me of my Scuba diving days. Can see this as a definite respite break from Xenomorph action later this week.
The main difference on the Pro aside from the slight res bump is objects casting shadows that don't on the standard version, but it's not going to impact users overall.
I'm glad I waited until now to get a PSVR2. I feel like I am stepping into a full fledged ecosystem rather than a beta period with little to do. This headset and VR in general is really primed for an explosion.
I just got mine a few days ago. I have literally a backlog of dozens of top-tier games to swap between and play through. I will definitely be in VR more than playing flat games on PS5 for the foreseeable future. There is so much to do. I am giving up on my Quest 3 because of the dim colors and screen, and the games look quite hideous indeed.
Looking forward to this. Underwater is very atmospheric, and I had a jaw-dropping experience the first time I tried PSVR1 with the Shark Dive experience. Sometimes its just cool to experience something realistic when you would never get an opportunity to do it in real life.
It’s actually fantastic. The cost of a PCVR versus PS5+PSVR2 with games like this almost make the system a no brainer. It’s a shame more devs don’t push the headset like this and other flagship titles do
@@GAMERTAGVR I have a feeling that moving forward, developers are going to have to push the limits of the PSVR2, or their game will not be received well by the community. Push the graphics, trigger haptics, and headset haptics along with eye tracking. The other big thing is native 90 vs 60 reprojected to 120. This is something my eyes can't see and it sounds like I am better off for it.
Don't get me wrong, the deep blacks of PSVR2's OLED display are really nice. But PSVR2's fresnel lenses cannot compete whatsoever with the Q3's pancake in the image clarity department, nor motion clarity. It's night and day. Subside demo didn't impress me all that much, plus it gave me a bit of motion sickness unlike Ocean Rift for stand alone Q3.
Looks like a great "stick it on for someone who's not tried vr yet" kinda thing. We've missed that on PSVR2, yet the first one had an included free set of them!
I'm owning it for PC already, but if there's a price drop in future for this version, I will buy it again, just to support the dev of this gem of a VR experience!!!

This game is absolutely stunning. The most immersive experience I've had on the PSVR 2 thus far. All made by a single developer. This game will really test your nerves if you have a fear of being in open water. 🦈
I played the demo on psvr2 and own the game on pc. The game imo looks better on the psvr 2. Colors and brightness make a big difference for me. This makes me realize that reprojection is the psvr 2 biggest issue. It even makes the Mura more noticeable.
I tried the demo, but for me it unfortunately doesn't work, I get motion sickness. I have the same with flying games. Normally I don't get motion sickness with VR when playing something were I walk or even drive. I do agree that psvr2 is on a way up! I hear a lot of positive things and new people coming in. Good for VR!
I tried the demo but it made me nauseous. Can you use the flippers from the start or do you need to buy them later? I think I will use teleport then first, to avoid the nausea. The graphics are amazing. Why do others games from larger studios look way worse (for example Metro Awakenings)?
I’m sure you’ve played Resident Evil 7 and there’s a part where you first enter the house and you go underneath the house and have water up to your neck. I had friend round and he was looking up to the ceiling gasping like a fish 😂
Random question also but don't suppose you know if saints and sinners part 2 is more stable on psvr2 compared to quest? That's what I've been hearing but wasn't sure
Looks great but I'm not buying a system with such poor support and going back to fresnels. Hopefully we'll get a psvr3 with the ps6 with smaller form factor and pancakes. Then I'll bite for sure. Good that it's getting some good games though.
I currently have 18 games in my VR game library downloaded to my console, with 12 more on the wishlist. And a bunch of top-budget games just dropped and will continue to drop into next year. So, this system is clearly supported quite well. This system is the best way to experience games with true blacks, lifelike brightness, impeccable colors, and super wide field of view. As a Quest 3 owner I can safely say you have no idea what you are missing. The Quest 3 visuals can't begin to touch the visual quality and presentation of a PSVR2. It doesn't matter that the Quest 3 has pancake lenses. It provides toy experiences compared to the PSVR2.
Subside VR will release on the 20th of December for $25

I would even remove the orange ui on screen IDK why immersive stuff adds crap on screen to break immersion and the hoops floating to
So is it a game or an experience?? 😅

🤔 I would try moving your body or snap. Also turn off swim turn so you only turn if you use the joysticks
@ Thanks! Looking forward to trying again - this looks so amazing and has been one of my most anticipated games.
How is the psvr2 version compared to pcvr? Are there any haptics?
Very light headset haptics and PSVR2 & PCVR are equally incredible
@ Ok cool, thank you.
Better on PC 3080 or PS5 Pro?
I’m on a 3080ti and I would say the pro is on par with what I experienced on PSVR2. Didn’t really notice much difference between Pro and Base
Is their scary moments or is it more relaxing?
No scary moments. There is some big fish and obviously there the shark and whales but there is no scary parts
