- This video is going to cover the 3 things you need to develop to generate an effortless and smooth golf swing just like the pros do time and time again. Doing the first two things I reveal and setting the arm will certainly help you create a smooth and effortless golf swing strike, distance accuracy and consistency, i can't promise 30/40 yards, but I can promise these simple three steps will improve your overall swing.

C’est le meilleur tuto sur le swing que j’ai vu sur YT!
Merci beaucoup! Je suis ravi que le contenu vous ait plu! - thank you very much! Pleased you've enjoyed the content!
Wow this instantly added consistency to my swing, and about 30-40 yards on my irons. Thank you 🙏
Hi Jonathan,
That's great to hear, you must've tried this a few hours after I published this?
Have you managed to get to the range since giving this a try the first time?
Excellent description of a golf swing . SUBSCRIBED.
Hi Edward,
Thanks for commenting, pleased you enjoyed the video, more to come!
Best video yet on the golf swing.
Thank you Jim, pleased you've enjoyed the video. How's your golf going?
Excellent video Harry on how to create a smooth and effective golf swing! I like your suggestion putting the hands on the side of the legs and performing a "tilting motion" by moving the hands down to the left knee. As you suggest, one should keep a "swing center" in their rotation as they move the body pressure toward the right leg. Then, a reverse sequence starts to begin the downswing with pressure on the left leg! I have been successfully using your "bi-cep curl!" suggestion in my golf swing! All Good Harry! Well Done!
Hi John, thanks again!
Yes this is it, you've got it, the downswing is the reverse of what you do in the backswing. Pleased to read you using the right arm effectively at set up, have you noticed much of a difference yet doing this?
Definitely! The folding and unfolding of the right arm makes the swing so much easier to perform with more positive results!@@harryshawgolf
Excellent!
Nice video. Rebuilt my swing and had to go through all the corrections you outlined. Took a few weeks sadly, but to me the final problem was how I used to roll my lead arm after P1, causing me to go way inside and flat with the club. This pretty much undid everything. So now I focus on trying to point the butt of the club towards the ground in the backswing. I think a video on the rotation of the lead arm and how to set the wrist would be a proper Part 2 video to this one.
Hi,
Thanks for commenting, it's really interesting to read the progress you've made using the tips outlined in this video. With the lead arm rotating and rolling causing the club to go back on the inside after the takeaway with setting of the wrist is a great topic idea for me to cover as a part 2. I will take note of this and see what I can come up with. In the meantime, feel free to keep me posted using skillest or emailing me!
this is an absolutely terrific video...thanks
Hi,
Thank you, when you’ve given this a try feel feee to reach out letting me know how you got on. If there’s anything you’d like to see on the channel let me know!
Thank you !!! This lesson really helps me !!
Hi,
That's great to hear, thanks for commenting and letting me know, feel free to keep me posted on here, or Skillest or by email!
Another great video!! Question about the downswing sequence. Once at the top and you start the lower body rotation do you also reverse the bicep curl to get back on plane?
Hi Mark, thank you!
For the downswing, I should've clarified that you don't need to worry about extending/ moving the trail arm, focusing on doing these will take care of this.
Loved the content but agree with too many transitions happening which makes it harder to follow. I think having a main camera that you focus on as your audience and others for other angles/ visuals would be key. Another helpful tip could be to consolidate the information a bit more to give yourself a better flow. Short step by step processes highlighting one topic at time. Demonstrate, educate, execute slow, medium, and full pace. That sort of format would be awesome for you. Good luck with the channel growth!
Hi,
Thanks for commenting and always looking for ways to improve, appreciate the step by step you E advised and this is something I’ve already got in mind on doing in the near future. Less transitions with one main camera running with the steps. What would you like to see on the channel next?
The problem with Golf is it is so easy to understand and do the correct drill because your hands are not tied together but once they are together holding the club nothing works. Just imagine Usian Bolt running with both hands held together.
Hi,
It's interesting you say this, it's good to understand the moves but trying to implement them whilst hitting a ball becomes more difficult, especially if it's something you're not used to doing. I would suggest starting with the practice swing without the ball and then eventually working your way into hitting balls but start off with a very slow swing, I'm talking 10% of your max, then work your way up in stags, 20% - 30% etc all the way to your full swing. Give this a try and let me know how it goes!
Very good, i start the swing kicking my lead knee in that srarts my arms then i just curl at the top and go.
Hi,
Thats an interesting firs thought to have to start the golf swing, does that also help you turn to the top of the swing? How long have you done this move?
@@harryshawgolf after back surgery a few years ago i wanted a swing that was more back friendly. Its interesting, the knee movement makes my arm unit move without manipulation i keep turning to the top , my lower body starts moving just before my backswing is completed , it then pulls everything down. My lower body starts the backswing and starts the downswing. Its all a continuous movement. I dont strain any muscles in legs, arms etc. So far it hasn't hurt my back at all.
Setting the arm that you teach is very important
Wow that's very impressive, finding a slight little change as to how to feel the motions taking place on the backswing and downswing to both take place! Yes, the arm is certainly an important topic that can make you break your golf swing. Have you tried any training aids to help you even further with these motions?
@harryshawgolf no training aids but i watch long drivers not that i want to be one, ive always been fairway and green player to keep with par, i became a 3 handicap by swinging all the clubs the same the longer sticks get me more velocity but anyway i watched those guys and gals some rock their legs back and forth and some pick their feet up high first one then the other and go. So im thinking they are creating motion on their terms i just used a simple backward motion with the legs then a forward motion for the downswing everything seems to flow. Its a motion that probably couldn't be seen by others but im initiating it.
Way too many camera transitions! Drives me nuts!
Hi, thanks for your feedback, I'll take note to improve the amount of transitions. How is your golf going?
@@harryshawgolf terrible Iol
If you don't mind me asking, what are you struggling with at the moment?
@harryshawgolf pulling massive left and hooking. Of course, consistency with striking the ball is not perfect.
Ok, this sounds like something i may have to look at in a little more detail, you can send me your swing over on Skillest and i'll be able to point out the things that are causing these issues. Either way, feel free to keep me posted by making a new comment!
Talk to march 😅
Not as much in December, haha. Thanks for your comment i will take note and use this to improve my content. How's your golf going?
Please stand still.
Hi Gerry,
Thanks for commenting, do you mean you want to see fewer transitions while talking?
Sorry you lost me somewhere , could you start again ? Where was i ?
Ntw fancy a pint ?
Hi,
I'm good thanks, how is the golf going?
