I am not a Raiders fan by any means, but Rich Bisaccia should be hailed as a hero to the Raiders and fans, just like John Madden. Getting all that scandal on his plate and still managing to get the Raiders as far as he could and into the playoffs, is nothing short of amazing and a true testament to his leadership. Raiders showing him the door is by the far the worst decision the Raiders could have done. At least, have him stay in the organization, especially with what he has done for them. That is a "job for life" type of deals.
As a raiders fan if they had him stay in the organization while a new HC took over, there was good chance that the locker room would have split allegiances. If Bisaccia was kept as the head coach, more than likely they would have kept Olson and Bradley as coordinators. Olson was one of the worst offensive coordinators out there. Bradley was more meh than anything. The Raiders in a way needed to wipe the slate clean. They needed to rid themselves of the Gruden-Mayock era. Unfortunately Bisaccia was a casualty of that.
As a Raider fan I love Bisaccia and his leadership was amazing. He’s a great leader and ST coach. But he doesn’t really have the skill set to be a head coach in the NFL. We got a hopefully improved McDaniels and Patrick Graham (one of the best dcs in the league) joining our coaching staff this off-season. Plus it was just time to clear staff from the Gruden era and just completely rebuild the leadership of the organization. Do I love him, yes. Am I happy we went a different way, also yes.
Being a raiders fan, that season will always be memorable. Every time I counted them out when things looked bleak, they managed to band together and become a playoff team. Truly unforgettable season
I remember getting a text from my dad during the Week 18 Chargers raiders game that we had bet $250 that the raiders would win. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire game. When the raiders, won I was so happy not only about the money, but more for how much this team deserved to make the playoffs. They took “Just Win Baby” and ran.
Did they really “deserve to make the playoffs” though? Their only good wins all year were against a hobbled Ravens team in OT, the Cowboys game which had about 100 combined flags, the Colts game where Wentz totally shit the bed, and the Chargers game Week 18 also in OT (after the Chargers shit on them earlier in the year). I wasn't expecting this video to come out sooner but Tree as always comes through for the culture. With all the mess, good and bad, the Raiders showed who they truly are. The 2021 Raiders will be immortalized with perseverance, triumph, and tragedy. This team is right up there with 1993 Oilers and 2018 Steelers
Something ironic that wasn't mentioned, the last time Cincy won in the playoffs was 1991. The team that eliminated them that year? The Los Angeles Raiders. It's fitting that when we finally won a playoff game again it was against them. Also, let's hope that since the Raiders LEARNED from not keeping the interim guy that led them to glory last time that it works out. Though I might be biased because Marvin Lewis is there now
It was a crazy rollercoaster last season for Las Vegas. I wonder what this season will bring for them. Especially now that they have the best WR in the game reunited with his old College QB.
It should bring them more success, but at the same time the rest of the AFC West not named Kansas City also upgraded and this division will be the most competitive in NFL history.
Knocked it out of the park with this, Tree. I'm just glad they went full Raiders and let their coach come to Green Bay, because it wouldn't be a Raiders thing without a Josh McDaniels type hiring.
I'm a Chiefs fan, but I'll give the Raiders credit for turning their team around after all they've been through. They really shoulda kept Rich. Though having McDaniels at the helm has surely benefited the Chiefs, so I can't complain.
I will say all my life as Raider fan, this season has been the craziest season I have seen. All that happened to us and we still made the playoffs just showed how much heart the players had.
Week 18 was a special one. Not only cuz of the raiders winning (or the possible tie scenario) but also because jacksonville needed to beat the colts in order for the win to let them in the playoffs.
In spite of all of the drama and tragic events surrounding the team, the fact that the raiders were able to bounce back and make it to the playoffs is astonishing.
Tina Tintor burned to death in her own car thanks to Henry Ruggs and her name is not nearly said enough. Thank you for handling talking the situation so well. May she Rest In Peace and may Ruggs never live this down. Edit: Christ and I somehow never heard of Damon Arnette until now. Gruden drafting these kinds of “people” speaks a lot to who he is. Thank god he’s gone.
As a Buckeye fan, I was shocked to see Arnette drafted that high. He wasn’t projected to be ANYWHERE near the first round. But that was par for the course with Gruden in charge.
One key difference between these Raiders and the 1993 Oilers: the Raiders season of craziness happened *AFTER* the team moved cities while the 93 Oilers season of craziness happened *BEFORE* the team moved cities.
I like that description of Gus Bradley. He understood how a defense worked in theory. Casey Heyward and Nate Hobbs did great work with the press cover 3, the only problem is that the chiefs will absolutely torch press cover three. We did one thing well, I still count that as an improvement.

The 2021 Raiders pushed through controversies and turmoil and managed to give the eventual AFC champions a run for their money in the playoffs. The 2021 Raiders are truly one of the teams of all time.
Idk if I can ever forgive Mike Zimmer for running Carlson out of town. Man has 1 bad game and gets scapegoated. Man could’ve solved our kicker issue for years to come
11:24 - I had NO clue that kicking a game winning field goal brings down your own score by 2 points and your opponent by 9. That's pretty damn impressive! YAY for typos!
With the Ruggs incident, there is a memorial mural for Tina and her dog at the intersection. The block before the accident my best friend was stopped at a red light and watched Ruggs fly past.
As a Chargers fan (a true one at that), while I was furious at the Chargers losing in week 18, the Raiders earned that win. They did everything correct for the most part in order to win and they won it fair and square. I want to say everything that happened off the field made the Raiders stronger and playing for John Madden was the icing on the cake. I really think the Raiders can do damage this upcoming season. Derek Carr to me is underrated and he doesn’t get his roses, especially when he has to march the Raiders down the field to get Carlson in field goal range. This season, particularly in the AFC West, will be interesting to say the least.

@@JahNuhThunDeeTheOneAndOnly well, KC has one of the best attack in the league, but they needed O-line AND defense
I could easily see them finishing last in the division, but still getting in the playoffs because this division is absolutely insane.
As Raider fan, last season was tough to watch and deal with.
That 4th and goal Waller was open for the game tying TD to send it to OT. imagine that happened and won
Tree, this may have been one of your best videos to date. I am a Bills fan and I cannot stop watching this one. Magnificent work.
This was quite a story. One if the most dysfunctional teams of all time STILL makes the Playoffs.
I’ve been a raiders fan for 20 years and this is the most excited I’ve been for an upcoming season
That tribute was really nice of you.
One key difference between these Raiders and the 1993 Oilers: the Raiders season of craziness happened *AFTER* the team moved cities while the 93 Oilers season of craziness happened *BEFORE* the team moved cities.
Imagine if social media had existed in 1993. They would be all over the Houston Oilers.
Wow
This was my first proper season of following football, and I *still* cant believe the 2021 season overall. Absolutely insane
One of the most memorable seasons from a non Super Bowl winner in a while. Hope they can keep that magic going
already interrested when i saw utree posted, and stayed leaned forward once i heard "henry ruggs going fast" good stuff
I like that description of Gus Bradley. He understood how a defense worked in theory. Casey Heyward and Nate Hobbs did great work with the press cover 3, the only problem is that the chiefs will absolutely torch press cover three. We did one thing well, I still count that as an improvement.
Idk how many times I watched this, this was brilliant Lord Tree
1:49 "No Raiders, George can't breathe, HE'S FUCKING DEAD."
Seriously though, I don't know why the fuck we didn't keep Bissacia
EDIT: MCDUMBASS CAN'T HURT US ANYMORE!
I feel bad for laughing
I love how you had an actual moment of silence for Tina Tintor. Classy move, Tree.
Another banger by UT.
Up there, if not equal to Secret Base for me when it comes to Sports, Entertainment and everything in-between.
Can't wait for more down the pike.
Bro who needs the 30 for 30? This vid is all I need. Great work.
great time to be a raiders fan regardless of what happens next season
Great work Tree. Loved the tribute to Tina Tintor and Max. Rest in Peace.
The 2021 Raiders pushed through controversies and turmoil and managed to give the eventual AFC champions a run for their money in the playoffs. The 2021 Raiders are truly one of the teams of all time.
Now this, is what we’ve all been waiting and hinting at, great vid
Idk if I can ever forgive Mike Zimmer for running Carlson out of town.
Man has 1 bad game and gets scapegoated. Man could’ve solved our kicker issue for years to come
It’s the Blair Walsh curse
Awesome touch on the in memorial to Ms.Tintor
11:24 - I had NO clue that kicking a game winning field goal brings down your own score by 2 points and your opponent by 9. That's pretty damn impressive! YAY for typos!
I was also impressed that you could win by 10 in OT despite only kicking one FG.
He’s still the weakest QB in the AFC west. No playoffs for them
I can’t wait to see what happens with the division next year
this is one of my favorites of your analysis videos
Raiders fan here. Holy shit thank you, we've been shit on for so long, even to make the playoffs with all that shit that happened was amazing. I finally feel we're in a great spot to make a push, but we're still predicted to be last in the AFC West lmao
Been waiting for this video since the Ruggs and Arnette incidents. So excited to watch
This was a scrappy team, one of the most fun Raiders seasons to watch in recent years.
honestly it was even better then 2016 because this time they were massive underdogs who rallied in the end of the season to Win 4 straight games and go to the Playoffs
Oh man football is right around the corner and this is making me even more hyped for it. Keep it up tree!
I will not rest until UrinatingTree talks about the USFL
Throughout my years of watching the Raiders, 2021 was such a wild ride. I’ve always expected them to break once it got to the second half of the season, even after everything they’ve went through, they STILL managed to find a way to win. 2021 Raiders was a team of resiliency, and I hope they continue this in 2022. RN4L. 🏴☠️
Unfortunately ironic that the QB’s name is “Carr” when it feels like between Ruggs, Arnette, and Hobbs, half the team shouldn’t have been trusted to operate anything more than a bicycle
I know you’ve already got a heavy workload but I’d love to see a video like this for every nfl team next offseason. Great job as always Tree!
For anyone interested Ruggs just took a plea deal and will serve 3 to 10 years in prison.
love your soundtrack decisions ALWAYS!
Derek Carr might be the most underrated QB in the league.
The fact this is a 22 minute video, says it all 😀
(8:39, Thanks for showing her and her dog, Tree)
The most amazing part of this was Daniel Carlson making it out of the hell that is Minnesota to become a great kicker.
I have been waiting for this video for a long time
Crazy how the Raiders managed to fight through what should've normally derailed and implode a team.
I will still never forgive Staley for fucking up the glorious tie
yea no because that would go against one of their Core beliefs " Just Win Baby " I'm sure you remember who said those words
A tie would've been hilarious because the Steelers would've been eliminated and Tree would've been pissed.
@@matthewshortle5274 this video would’ve been even better
Really appreciated how you covered this, thank you UT.
The Raiders should've kept Rich Bisaccia TBH. He's the one that turned the Raiders around
He didnt. What are you talking about? He didnt turn anything around. The record remained quite the same and if it wasnt for the 4 game win streak the end the season, he was like 4-5. He did well but lets stop overreacting
@@anonymousperson3023 Yes, but still, he deserves to be promoted as a permanent head coach for at least a few years.
I'll be laughing if Josh McDaniels didn't make them into a Super Bowl contender or even make it to the playoffs with all their weapons they had right now.
Great vid again Tree. Remind me once this recession is over to ship you a sixer of my favorite brew.
Rest in Peace Bill Russell
Did you say they should make a 30 For 30 about this? Dude, this is so much better and more concise than any 30 For 30!
