Planet Coaster - Volvara

- The brainchild of the curious twisted mind of entrepreneur Lysander Cogsmith, Volvara is a is a towering air fortress equipped with an adjustable plasma cannon, levitating through the use of many moving pillars with powerful propellors. The inner machinery is largely disguised by an eclectic mix of renaissance and Victorian gothic revival architecture - but the lower half of the immense structure, which Lysander cheaped out on, is a warbled mess of pipes and planks. As for how this behemoth can possibly stay afloat - Lysander has as much contempt for the laws of physics as he does for the lives of the Victorian proletariat that had to construct this monstrosity under harsh weather conditions and turbulence.
...in the end though, it's difficult to pay the bills with just a flying fortification. Thus, Lysander installed an Intamin Megacoaster making its way around the island. Given the unique setting, people would be willing to pay a hefty price, he reasoned - which should be able to finance the costly upkeep of the castle. Wether it'll be a success or not, we'll see. But anyway, here's Volvara.
In all seriousness, I'm glad to finally put out this video. I've worked on the finishing touches on the castle in the past few weeks, and tried my hardest to do the 2+ year build justice with this video. I'll admit it's a bit cheesy with all the clouds added in post, but this is how I imagined Volvara from the start. Two years ago I had no idea if it'd ever be possible to convincingly picture the castle flying through the clouds - but now with Reshade's adaptive fog I think the effect turned out decent enough.
...now to finish Jägerhorn.

The clouds aren't cheesy at all. I think without them it wouldn't get the same atmosphere. Im so glad to see you almost never give up on projects, theres nothing more satisfying than seeing such a huge project finished. huge not in scale, but in detail. Also congrats to your pc, for not catching fire while running this thing.

Volvara is the reason I got interested in your channel, back when you were on episode 4 or 5 I think. It's so aesthetically pleasing, the coaster is beautifully interwoven, and the concept of a floating coaster island is really neat! Hope to see more coaster builds in the future 👍

This literally looks like an art piece.
As a kid i always dreamed of places like this, and would love so much to be able to explore it as a first person char.
Gives me treasure island feels and reminds me of spineworld for some reason.
The idea of this being an even bigger island as a map for a videogame is just so awesome

Beautifully made floating castle rollercoaster. All the details that went into this ride, oh God. Huge undertaking, I bet. Totally amazing ride when nothing was missed. Excellent.

This is hands down my favourite video on this channel to date!
There it rises above the misty hills. The steam of its engines fading into the low hanging clouds. Its thousand cogs and pipes clicking and howling across the valley. A weapon from a long forgotten war. A remnant from a time long past. The ancient flying fortress, the unreachable bastion, the last of the sky castles ... Volvara.

followed this series from the start and this coaster is worthy of a spot in the Efteling. Its so well build and thematic. It makes me think of some of Studio Ghibli's works
What a weird intamin mega-lite, 5/7
This thing barely even gets any airtime, aside from the station flyby halfway through the ride. It sucks.
But the views man this thing looks amazing. BTW there is more hills 8/10

There are a few points that remind me of an old No Limits design I did. I used the plain grid box and when I came to a wall I would mount the wall instead of turning. I did it personally to challenge myself to use different elements to recreate maneuvers. I shared it at the time because I enjoyed how disorienting it was at points not knowing which way was up.
YAY! A finished feat! Congrats! It's remarkable. Heavily "Mortal Engines" inspired, but I love the Victorian style. I really wish PlanCo would introduce biomes that were eccentric like this (clouds) and such. It just allows your mind to explore more creatively and less restrictively. Always love your finished products! This one isn't my favorite to ride, but the detail work is immaculate and beautiful! Keep up your ingenuity, sir!
