- After installing the Harley lower fairing I try to mount my highway pegs....Will they fit? I take the fork mounted wind deflectors off and test ride the new setup. Is the lower fairing a good replacement for the wind deflectors? Check it out in the video.

Also without them helps the engine stay cooler

Definitely without the deflectors. I'm glad your highway pegs work. My wife got me the longer extendable ones similar to yours and they work great, looks like I'm getting some hard lowers now. My soft lowers have be good but you can tell the color is fading and there more like a charcoal color and not black. Another great video Sandy, cheers man. 😎😎😎
Greetings from Georgia. Nice Video. I also had to get used to not hitting the lower fairing when putting my feet on the highway pegs. It took about 5 rides or so. I'm rocking a 2021 RG standard. I also have the fork mounted wind deflectors along with the lowers. But I haven't removed the deflectors, so you video was very important to me. Thanks for sharing and keep on gliding on the street.
Like the look I have lowers on my street glide does a great job on the wind no to the wind deflector and when it’s hot out keep lower vents open to keep engine cool great video
I think it looks better without the fork mounted deflectors, but, it is your ride, so whatever you prefer is right. Keep up the great riding vlogs!!

For the road pegs, I’m thinking extension mounting arms? (I don’t know the technical term!)
I have that on my Ultra Classic, and the arm - after mounting to the engine guard - just seems to “wrap” around the lower fairing and I can easily move my feet from braking/shifting to the pegs and back. I usually ride with my heel on the floorboards and front foot area on the pegs. I can also put feet fully on the pegs for another position.

You can open and close those lower fairing vents with the tip of your boots/shoes while you're moving too.

I did the same thing. Also same height. I got frame mounted ciro pegs. Have John get you some of this with the new sponsor. The frame mounted mounts for the highway pegs. Maybe the best purchase yet.

With. Because, first the wind defl look emposing and second they direct some of the air around the forks towards the motor between the forks and underneath the triple tree. I have a limited and thinking of putting defl also.
Nice video Sandy, and love those real cockpit views 💯 ✈️🔥. Talk about tight fit with those highway pegs, hard to tell from the video but it looks like it is almost touching the lowers . I think chrome wind deflectors off look better however, if they were black, I think it would put them on 🤷♂️😎🤙
I do think the wind deflectors give it a nicer look but since you had them off do you feel more come up between the lower part of the batwing faring and the gas tank.
I like the fork fangs. I'm thinking that your engine prefers having them off. Your Electra Glide is really looking sharp now.

You ought to swivel the peg mount towards you so you can put your heal on your floorboard and your toes on the pegs and you can also lay your feet on top to stretch out. Bike looks better 👍👍
I was thinking about those fork deflectors to see if they help with the updraft I get on my beard but I had thought about lowers also. I run Soft Lowers in the Winter but I don't feel like they make much of a difference but they don't come up as high as hard lowers do. I definitely would prefer the hard lowers over fork deflectors for looks.
FYI - the fork deflectors were the game changer in my case

Can you tell me the size of your freedom windshield you decide to go with?
The deflectors give the forks a beefier look, which is supplemented by the lower fairings. Either looks good, but having a lot of chrome on the bike, having the deflectors adds to the appearance of the bike.
I ride a Limited and was interested in the fork deflectors for a little more comfort in the winter. Would have liked to hear what it was like to have both lowers and deflectors on the bike.
So I just ordered the fork deflectors and until I get them I installed a new ventilator by screaming eagle (360 air) to help it breath better

Haha..you noticed! That’s a waist mount that connects a selfie stick and my 360 camera. I move it around and get different angles with the camera

I like it better with the fork mounted wind deflectors. It looks bad ass. Also you can easily raise your highway pegs higher on your crash bars so you could have a little more bend in your legs. By the way, are you using a drone to film your aerial view shots?
Make sure you use thread locker on all the bolts. It will get lose if you don't.

If you wanted to have wind deflectors on with lowers, did it work? I wanted to put them on my Ultra classic but they said they would not fit with lowers.

This is what I was wanting to know and asked about on another of your videos. So windscreen, fairing mounted wind deflectors and now lowers seemed to fix most of if not all buffeting. Great news. Someone could buy the bike and right off install the shield and deflectors and wait for latter as it sounds like just those two mods help alot on their own and then install the lowers latter, does tis sound correct? Reading some post here it seems you put the fork deflectors back on? Why would you do that if the lowers did the job at stopping the buffeting?
I felt that the fork deflectors added a little bit extra wind reduction

Without, it’s overkill bc you are blocking the wind into the lower vents with them on, so less air to air-cooled engine.

I'm gonna say.......off! Anyone have experience with klockworks windshield on a Street Glide?
Knockworks windshield made all the difference in my ride, no buffering and you can even hear your tunes better. Make sure you determine the correct windshield for your height, I’m 5’11 and the 8.5” worked best for me.

I dunno Sandy, you look like you are uncomfortable as h**l . I would extend those highway pegs two inches closer to you, That might also stop the heel issue when you change positions.
I wish I could get them closer to me ! I think I’ll need floorboard mounted pegs…
