Hey Chris! Could we get a Late Night With The Devil review?? You're really missing out on a great film if you don't see it! Saw it this past weekend and it was super entertaining. Edit: Thanks for all the likes everyone!
I saw this on a mystery movie Monday at a Regal Cinema. I have nothing to add to this review other than Chris is right. It find the perfect tone of camp and horror.
I certainly plan to watch this for the campy fun. And im glad im not the only one that loves me a little Eight Legged Freaks, Arachniphobia, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Crawl and The Blob. 😊
Considering that the lettering that is now the "Stranger Things" font used to be the "Stephen King" font I don't think well be rid of spooky red lettering anytime soon.
I'm curious what you'll think of Infested which comes out later this month. From the trailers, it looked similar to Sting in that there's a spider issue in an apartment building. I'm excited for both because I also have a soft spot for B spider/monster movies.
@Nebol funny story- my mom took me to the theater we were deciding between Minority Report and Eight Legged Freaks. Now, I do favor Minority Report but I do not regret my decision to see eight legged freaks!
AW HELL YEAH!!! I was literally telling my dad a few months ago that I wish more fun creature features like 8 Legged Freaks or Mars Attacks! would get made! I can't wait for this.
Hey Chris, you being a horror movie fan, I was wondering why you haven’t made a video talking about Late Night With the Devil? It’s a great movies and it’s getting great reviews
@@jordanmcmichael6682 Spanish film that tales the real story of a Uruguayan plane that crashed in the Andes over 50 years ago, it's fantastically well made and I think Chris would love it!
Funny enough i just saw yesterday Vermines/Infested by Sébastien Vanicek. A french movie about spiders , which I thought it was going to be the one Chris was going to talk about here...interesting that there are two movies about it with different tones right now.
AMC showed it on a monday night for its Scream Unseen surprise movie showing. Would have never picked it myself but was way better than I thought It would be. Very fun!
8 legged freaks is a dope movie. I saw it when it came out on DVD. Looking forward to seeing sting. Looks like it's going to be alot of fun. Thanks for bring it to my attention. Didn't even know it was coming out.
I’ll definitely check this one out, its been a while since we’ve had an enjoyable well made creature feature type movie. One bug though (pun intended) as someone who has kept tarantulas as pets along with other exotic pets, that title irks me to no end. Spiders bite, they don’t sting. Beeps, wasps and hornets sting because they have stingers…that, they sting with. 😂
I hadn't heard about this movie. It looks like my jam. I LOVE Arachnophobia. My mom loves 8 Legged Freaks, Ice Spiders, Big Ass Spiders, The Blob, Bats, and anything similar that would likely have popped up on SyFy back in the day. I think we need to check this one out. lol. Thanks, Chris!
Cool! Looking forward to this movie! Btw @chris now that I see you whit a Dragon Ball shirt on.. how come you havent done any special stuff about Akira Toriyamas death..? Would love to hear what you say about him.
Oooooh my god I think you’d enjoy Ice Spiders. One of my favorite sci-fi channel movies; I remember seeing it at a rental store when I was living with my dad and he was surprised at how much he enjoyed it
Okay, I haven’t watched the video yet so let’s see how accurately I can predict it. We have a 5 minute 40 second video, so the first 2 minutes will be Chris telling us who the director, writer, editor, actors of the movie are, there’ll be a 1.5 minute better health plug, he will spend 40 seconds saying that he likes the movie despite its flaws without giving any concrete analysis or criticism, and he’ll spend the last 30 seconds on the outro. Let’s see how accurate I am…
Just saw it. I’m so surprised! My new favorite horror movie so far this year! 😃 I personally liked it because: Awesome cinematography and camera shots and camera movements, not just once or twice, but multiple times throughout the film, there was care by the writers into the characters. Character building, character development, and ultimately character caring, in where you do care for the characters as the film goes. And then the plot: is actually engaging and it was not a slow burner film like tens of other horror films I've seen in the years 2022-2024 and been put to boredom to.
Seriously. I don’t get the negativity some people have regarding his decision to only review movies he likes (or thinks are worth reviewing?). I’m sure it negatively impacted his channel when he made that decision, but I respect the commitment to it. Also, now that he only reviews “good” movies, it actually has made it easier to filter out and identify movies that I might want to watch, as it seems we have similar tastes.
@@damonmuzzy277I think its the perception of his motivation for doing so, because he doesn't want people to dump on his film when it comes out and doesn't want to get on the wrong side of people in the industry, I get both sides of the argument that, I think if you only want to talk positively about films you should be able to do so.
Ah, I hadn’t considered that, thanks for the insight. I haven’t really been following his movie, and it dropped in the memory hole, so I hadn’t thought about that angle. Yes, that probably does put him in an awkward, precarious position in an industry that relies on networking and connections. And I agree with you, regardless of his motivations, he shouldn’t feel motivated to hop on the hate train like so many others have.
So Sting is a fun suprise, fingers crossed that Infested at the end of the month is also good. 2 Spider movies in a month and maybe both can be goo, I can only hope.
I saw this last week through AMC: Scream Unseen, which I enjoyed it as a horror movie. As the kind of horror viewer who laughs at those movies instead of being scared, that's my take on it.
Are the kills goofy kills, like eight legged and other slasher films, where you wince but also chuckle at the absurdity? Or does it venture into Saw territory of torturous scenes? (hoping for the former)
This must be the year of spider-based horror movies. There’s also the French film INFESTED, which has played a number of festivals and done pretty well. In fact, Sam Raimi was so impressed by it, he hired the director to make the next Evil Dead movie!
My wife and I got to see an early screening of this through AMC's Scream Unseen event and we quite enjoyed this one. It's far from perfect but if you approach this film looking for some simple fun you will have a good time. It has a lot of interesting elements to it with a diversity of characters who all live in the same apartment complex. I only have found minor nit picky problems with this film but overall I think most audiences will find it worth a watch.
Still not on the same level as "Kingdom Of The Spiders," sorry to say. That film, to me, remains THE gold standard of the spider-invasion microgenre. XD Appreciate the review for this, though!
I'm TERRIFIED of spiders, just accidentally clicking on a picture of one while scrolling Reddit is enough to make my pace around my room for a few minutes, but as soon as you mentioned the spider crawling out of the meteorite I couldn't help but smile and start looking for the Australian release date.
"Sting" will be shown at the german "fantasy filmfest - white nights" this month and I'm looking very much forward to it, though I fear big spiders. I've to this day never watched a spider horror in a cinema, so that will be a new experience. If one will hear people scream like crazy, I'm definetly one of them. ;D I also look forward to the french spider movie "Infested", which might be even harder to watch, as the trailer suggests. Forget all the exorcism flicks this year, spiders are the new thing =)
Someone may have mentioned this already, but I wonder if the director included any songs by Sting or during the end credits for the sake of irony and tongue-in-cheek humour? :)

YES! I am so curious about that movie and have been waiting for Chris’ review!
Am I the only one that is utterly baffled that they called a movie about a spider "sting"?
Searched the comments to find this 😂was my first thought
Charlotte named it after Bilbo's sword. When trying to think of a name for the spider, her eyes fall on her copy of The Hobbit.
I would not know how to react if a was "Stung" by a spider. I'm terrified of them but I'm definitely not worried about one stinging me.
Please stop saying "Am I the only one" to get validation. No one is unique and special enough to be the only one.
