I just want a terrifying giant spider movie, like ritual or it comes at night, but with a giant spider. I want it to be terrifying and well thought out and be placed way out in the deep woods in the middle of nowhere where people shouldn't be
Watch Enemy
@@marianadamelio Great film, but I don't think that's really what they're describing
There is the tv show "From", that's a mystery thriller with supernatural elements, kinda like "Lost", it's from the same creators and even starts some of the actors from "Lost". I don't wanna spoil to much, and it isn't confirmed as of yet, but there is the theory, that the main entity controlling supernatural in the show and keeping all the characters in one place (The Town) is giant spider or spiders, residing in forest surrounding town... At least, it's what some of the clues at the end of fist season inquire...
A few years back there was a movie called Itsy Bitsy about a big spider. I haven’t seen it but you can watch the trailer here on YT
Very few directors know how to do camp correctly. Ironically, I don't go camping specifically b/c I'm afraid of spiders.
It's all in your head. Camping isn't real.
I think this is the first time that a movie was barely on my radar, but due to a lukewarm (but detailed) review, I actually want to see it more. Weird, but okay.
There aren't much spider movies about so I'll watch this
Was this about Surfer Sting? The Crow Sting? The NWO Bogus Sting? Looks interesting regardless :)
@@visa_debit_card a pox upon me for forgetting the hallowed Red and Black!
This movie screams straight to video. This is in the theaters?
I really enjoyed your demonstration of the use of multiple camera angles! Thanks for the review.
Spiders 🕷 are awesome creatures ! 👻
I'm not a fan of the spider horror trend. They showed the trailer for this before The First Omen and I had to shut my eyes. Big nope from me! Reviews like yours will be my only exposure to it.
Eight legged freaks you may like little more kind friendly not as violent not as scary that or Godzilla movies with big spider depends., or maybe earth vs spider with Dan Ackroid, labalantrua
I was excited for Christopher Landon's Arachnophobia remake but I guess that isn't happening anymore because that was announced before the whole Scream kerfuffle. But loves me some spiders, I'll be interested to check this one out (with low expectations). Also, Noni Hazlehurst! 😄
Hi Emma! do You which prefer? this movie or Arachnophobia (1990).
Am probably going to watch sting (2024) movie theater or vod.
Probably the only horror film that could actually scare me as I’m TERRIFIED of spiders.
I doubt I’ll go see it as I’ll have a panic attack or probably faint
I feel for you ❤
Literally can’t watch anything with spiders. Still haven’t seen Possum.
So there’s a lot to skip for me this year, it’s a shame 😢
@@fkwr1189 might watch it at home one day. No chance of the big screen
Can't say I care for them much myself. They're just....eeehhhhh.
I almost fainted watching The Mist 😂
@fkwr1189 I saw Possum and it's not that terrible with the spider thing, but it has a SA scene (without nudity), and I wasn't expecting that. It was a trigger. It's a sad and slow movie
Great review emma 😊
Debating this one even with a few positive remarks. May wait till VOD. POV always appreciated 🤘🏼👏🏼
Go see it, it was a really good time!!!
I think it does the psychological horror aspect decently well from the step-father's point of view, the way he keeps trying to do the right thing but everything backfires on him, how his wife's family is there at the perfect moment to kick him while he's down and make him doubt his place in their lives. It's not what I was hoping for in a giant spider movie, but it is there.
One thing I wished they hadn't done is use the first notes of Gizmo's theme as the spider's feeding call. I really don't care for references in movies and it just made me want to watch Gremlins instead.
I've been working on my own immersion therapy for my arachniphobia but this ain't happening for me 😂 I told my mom that every horror creature has a trend. If there's a shark movie there will be 4 shark movies. Bear movie? There's gonna be 4 bear movies. It was only a matter of time before the next creature was a spider and now 3 spider movis are coming out this year! LoL
It's the nightmare of all arachnophobics
@marianadamelio so true.
what are the other movies
@ExpertContrarian so far I've heard this one, Infested, Eight Eyes and short film called the Spider which is apparently a horror Spiderman short? Not sure if I'm correct on that one cuz I have issues researching anything spider related 😂
Music can make or break a movie. Frustrating when it's not used properly. I really love spider films (Arachnophobia and Eight Legged Freaks, two favorites) but I might skip this one. Thanks for the head's up :)
I'm arachnophobic and love Eight legged freaks
Yes it can half true other half is setting arachnophobia is in town most of time but this one takes place in apartment building claustrophobia stays in one place depends on movie and villian with music
I'm not a fan of creature features, so I'll sit this one out. I agree though that the promo is a great touch, and more studios should do that!
my biggest pet peeve in horror movies and video games is the "time to be scared" music. it just feels lazy and like a cop-out. if your movie/game is scary, the audience will be scared on their own. you don't have to give them cue cards
Thanks for the review, Emma. Sounds like it will be a good film to wait and see on video.
Hey, I thought ITsy Bitsy was pretty good and STing seems to be in the same vein.
Who is this for…..ME! I ate this stuff up😝
I will be giving this one a miss because I have arachnophobia 😂
This is definitely another divisive one in the community but I’m intrigued I have to say.
hi Emma, last year we also got cobweb 🕷🕷🕷
Spider movies are an obvious no for me 😅 so I'm kind of glad I'm not really missing much
Interesting. Films made in Australia by Australians starring Australians, but set in the US. Question - and I’m only half joking: is learning an American accent part of every Australian actor’s training?
They do this for a lot of films, Pearl was shot in NZ Mia is English, Matrix shot in Australia, late night in the devil shot in Australia
i’m only checking this one out since i’m an amc stubs member. am i excited? not really. but if its campy im sure i’ll appreciate it. also sometimes you just want to watch a giant spider eat people 😅
Saw this last week. Surprisingly liked it
I thought I saw Noni in one of the clips! She’s a mother figure for an entire generation of Australians ❤big drawcard right there.
Its not for me thats for sure 🙀🙀🙀
I hate spiders but I wanted to check this one out because I heard it’s going to be fun, and something different from a spider movie but I watched it yesterday and it was ok, a little boring and nothing different😭 I did fall asleep on the last like 10-15 mins but I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss much

Thanks for the review! I was on the fence, but I think I'll pass because I just saw 4 awesome horror movies back to back in the theater which has to be an all time record for me and I really don't want to break this trend. Plus, I would have to travel to see it and would not get my movie club points because it's not playing in my usual theater.
I saw this a few weeks ago at a secret preview. It was just okay. It was fun to see Jermaine Fowler at least.
Review INCANTATION(2022) trust me.
Hated it haha
Infested did it better, Sting feels like something I would've liked at 10 years old, it has some funny moments at the beginning but didnt hit any marks.
I can’t wait for infested! I have my screener ready
Evil Spider Rise
I thought spiders don’t sting but bite no?
The bites are what sting, but I can’t say more anyway because of spoilers
@@spookyastronauts ahh I see, thanks ☺️
Spiders... another reason I will never move to your beautiful country, though I'd love to visit. 😊
Thanks for the review! I'll probably skip this one lol
Does anyone know if the dad dies i like him as n actor ?
I really wanted Sting to be good since I like spider movies myself. It's a shame it's not. I'll still watch it once it's on VOD. I'm also really excited for Abigail. 😁
This was just boring to be honest.. Some really idiotic things made me check out early. Like..
The way she finds the spider within the first 2 minutes of the movies.
The stupid whistle thing, that she decided is it’s call for food.
And apparently the spider just screws off the lid of the bottle, to get out, and then screws the lid back on again afterwards. It’s just so dumb, and it feels like things were just thrown in there.
And once the spider gets to er certain size it starts to look really bad, and you barely see the spider, because it looks so bad.
The key thing about spider movies is, that you HAVE to see the spiders, because they are so creepy just to look at.. Hiding the spider, turn it into just any generic monster that you don’t see, and leave to the imagination. But it’s a spider movie, and spider movies only work if we actually see the spider
The movie infested was So much better, and everything made more sense in that movie.
🖤 x
Am I supposed to know who Nonnie is? 😅
We need a list with GOOD spider movies.
Do you know any good spider horror movies?
I'm arachnophobic and it's hard to pick a movie with spiders in it. They have to be really good movies for me to enjoy despite the real life horror of them.
This was great watch, some drama, some scares, kinda gross and bloody. It’s for families
Wasn't a huge fan..
Just came out last week on UK... Gave it 5/10 in my review
You can’t beat Eight Legged Freaks
To be fair it’s better than I thought it would be. That being said I went in with pretty low expectations. It’s fun, stupid, leave your brain at the door entertainment. Ok it’s not Silence Of The Lambs standard and it has its issues. Such as the ridiculous Marlon Wayans wannabe exterminator character. Overall though I’d recommend it with the caveat that it’s pure nonsense entertainment. If you want to have a couple of beers and have something to watch it’s fine. Watch it, then forget about it because there’s no real substance to it.
Charlotte? Spiders? I see what they did there. 😉
this movie was great...way better than civil war
It's a popcorn horror flick. It doesn't need to be profound, lady.
I wanted to like Sting but a lot of it seemed very predictable. Plus, not sure if this was just me, but there's a part where one of the "low hanging fruit" is killed and as Charlotte comes across it, the kill is all blurry so you can barely tell what it is. Like the first one to get killed was obvious and clear, but this was blurry - maybe they were running out of money or it looked bad, so they blurred it out instead? Just my thoughts.
I am lucky enough that spider creep me out enough that they are a gaurenteed scare but not enough that movies like this and arachnophobia are unwatchable.
It really felt like it was a movie that would have just killed at the box office 25 years ago. If you’d told me it was made in the 80’s I would have believed you
Thought I was the only one wondering what was up with all the spider themed movies being released 😭😂
Loving the lil camera angles you were playing around with btw
And I'm sitting here, looking at Immaculate and The First Omen, back to back.
The writing for this movie was extremely amateurish and it feels like a movie made for children, but with some r-rated stuff thrown in
It's not a bad movie but pfff after a few minutes I was disappointed already .. it's entertaining..
The whole thing about dad-daughter, step-dad step-daughter, mom-children, etc.. let's stop with that !!
It's a kids movie that tries to be a horror film. But it fails at both. It succeeds at sucking beyond all levels and SPOILER ALERT!...
the "alien" spider. YES a spider from outer fuckin' space is warded off by mothball water and is ultimately destroyed by a trash compactor. There I saved you an hour and a half of your life.
This movie is like Critters , whit the same ending ,. nothing new
The only strange problem here is u begging for handouts -_-
Begging for handouts? What are you even talking about or referring to?
Don’t watch this if you value your time. Your welcome! Movie is about girls with daddy issues and girl boss feminists which describes men as being weak and useless, and a recalcitrant kid who makes you click at every moment. The spider is the actual friendly intelligent human being with a sense of purpose, dedication and satisfaction and the humans are the critter that are better off dead than being alive. The creators who make these films made them because they despise their own human nature, either to push a message, make a horror movie but make sure you push that message, or they’re just stupid, and they think we’re also very stupid and we can’t tell right from wrong. It’s basically a caravan of garbage low budget B movie. Vermins/infested was 💯 better, even if there too is some sense of laziness throughout the whole movie. Like you do wish for the spiders to finally die! Compared to this film where you wish for the spider to live, and kill as many humans as possible, because that’s how the writers and director portrayed the humans as very annoying recalcitrant arrogant and weak. It’s a good looking vfx parody of a movie. Vermin/infested was better in every way possible!
First
it was boring
Another typically annoying girl, you want to die. Bad movie.
You’re spoiling the movie. I stopped as soon as i heard you talk about the movie sequence . First time seeing a review from you never again.
I don’t give away anything that happens, but enjoy!
@@spookyastronauts yes you are dude. I don’t need to know the plot of the movie. I just needed to know if actors were good and if the movie was scary or not. By you explaining the plot is already spoiling the movie.
That’s wild you should def not click on reviews… all reviews need to talk about the premise. Don’t know what you’re looking for but you’re not going to find it on RUclips. Thank you Kim
This movie is for me , eight legged freaks would be nice along side this one , not meant to be taken seriously just drink some beers and enjoy the ride
