I just released an updated version of this tutorial for 2021: ruclips.net/video/IvLm_PZJDz0/видео.html A lot has changed especially with Big Sur and the M1 Macs. I show how to fix common errors in this new tutorial. I also have several new videos on the channel showing how to fix them too. Also, THANK YOU ALL for the support on this video. Almost 400k views!! Glad I can help so many people out!
For those encountering a Invalid Kernel Error when trying to start the VM for the first time, you need to go to the settings first and go to the storage tab to add the ISO onto the empty disk image. For some reason it crashes when you try to add the ISO file through the start machine method. Hope this helps.
You, my friend, are amazing! I've been Googling for HOURS how to get past this, and here you are! Thank you.
@@mismatchdj Glad I could help!
I still get a Kernel driver not installed error
@@JDubbss Honestly, I kept having performance problems with VirtualBox left and right, it was unusable even when it worked. You should look into Parallels, its amazing and fast.

MAN! Thank you for this video! It took me a couple days to research everything and to get it work. You helped me to make progress on the final steps of installation. Take care and thumps up for your channel.
I have been trying to get virtual box downloaded for over a week now. My instructor was trash at assisting. This video was the perfect tutorial for those new to Microsoft but in the process of learning. Thank you for this post.
Fantastic, Benjamin. Thank you so much for this video. So clear and straightforward. I had Windows up and running in about 15 mins on my iMac.
Worked for me! Thanks man! If anyone has issues with “a media driver for your computer is missing.” Then re-download the iso and you’ll be good.
This is very impressive! I've been searching for this kind of tutorial for so long, very straight forward and knowledgeable. Thank you so much man!
Works excellent on Macbook Pro late 2011! Thank you a lot. Took me all morning to try BootCamp installation, and just 30 min with this video. Thumbs up and Subscription, you deserve it!

I personally got a different error at the 16:28 mark with an error message reading "fatal no bootable medium found system halted" in order to fix this error, go to the VM settings, go to storage and underneath the controller: Sata there should be two tabs. The first tab will be your win10_64bit(dot)vdi and the other might say empty. Click the empty tab and scroll over to the optical drive data port 1. to the right of this, there should be a the little drive disk icon. Click that and select your ISO file.
woah and thanks
@@kashinimeyo Thank you so much!!!
@@kashinimeyo Thank you so much. I had same problem...
nice
Thanks, this really helped. One thing I couldn't sort out though was the guest additions thing, which didn't automatically mount. In another video, I've found that you just need to click on the "devices" tab in the virtualbox navbar and at the bottom of the list there's an option to insert the "guest additions cd image". Afterward, everything worked!
I find this video extremely helpful as I had to re-download Virtualbox (had this during college but removed once done and now finding myself to get this again). However, the application kept on crashing when I got to the upload disk part once you hit start. So after looking at my stuff and trying to figure out whats wrong. I couldn't find anything. But I did fine a solution after testing something and if anyone else is having this problem here is the solution:
1) click on the system in the VM manger (make sure its powered off first)
2) click settings
3) click on Storage
4) under the Controller click the disk img that says empty
5) right of the optical drive click the disk img
6) click chose a disk file (don't click on anything that doesn't say this exactly)
7) find the windows disc img (ISO file) that you downloaded before
8) click okay and okay to close both the file window and the settings window (do not close them as it won't save it then and you'll be right back where you where)
9) Start you system and wait for it to boot up
thank you so much ..that worked !
How do I make sure it’s powered off

You are my hero! I had already installed on my macbook pro (recently upgraded to Big Sur) and all the sudden my network settings got screwed up. Nothing seemed to work. So then found your video to watch to get me calmed down, it helped me get back to the basics, and to get my WIFI in VM working again! Thanks so much!
This is great! Just what I needed. Finally had my first successful install. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. The thought of getting a PC up and running on my Mac always intimidated me. Really appreciated it!
You've been such a life saver, thank you so much!

OMG This man is a legend
this is the only tutorial that worked for me ben and launged windows 10 on my 2014 mac. thank you! its been a journey lol
You Have no idea how much this helped me, cheers!
Thank you so much. I've been trying to do this for ages and your video answers my problems! Thank you!
Hi! Would you be able to help me out? Every time I've tried to do this, the window crashes when I get to the "select your country". It's happened 4 times now, I've followed just about everything you've done except I've lowered it to 50GB and am running the 32bit version.
I had to stop the screen recording to make mine work. May be you need to allocate more cpu by either changing it in Virtualbox settings or close some programs on your Mac while doing it. I am not sure why this new version of Windows has the problem. I never had this issue on my first Virtualbox install video.
were you able to solve it?
@mcdcello Sort of. I ended up creating a ton of storage on my laptop, but even with 72GB of available space, it wouldn't work with a 60GB, 50GB or 40GB memory for Windows. It ended up working with 32GB and running at 1028 but it's INCREDIBLY slow. The mouse is really lagging, it's not really usable. It also had EVERY possible application shutdown, I tried running it with even chrome open for the video and it didn't work for the 32GB until after I closed it.
I was literally crying by the end of this video because you finally helped me understand what I was doing. Thank you!!!
This is very useful thanks
Amazing video man! Saved me so much money by not having to buy a windows computed and continually using my mac! Cheers!
It didn’t work when i clicked start it said “failed to open session for the virtual machine windows”
That’s all it said? Any other errors?
I have an error too. Mine says "Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
I think it’s cause we might be using an m1 MacBook cause i tried it with my old Mac and it worked.
@@BenjaminsTech it also says the failed to open session thing. And the details say that the VM driver isn't installed and it failed during start up. Exit code 1(0x1)

thank you, this really helped me, i really liked how you explained everything
21:08 EXACTLY my problem. This error and others related (in my case) were due to not enough cores assigned to the vm (your explanation was crucial). I had seen this error while installing a 64bit wind*ws version and oddly, it didn't appear while installing a 32bit version. Now it makes sense. Thank you!
Thank yoooou.You’re amazing

Getting gaming to work on a VM is a little tough. Bootcamp may work better for gaming purposes.
@@BenjaminsTech ik but idk why I tried installing the vm and the windows had a little bit of input lag (my system has win 7 and I installed 10). But my friend doesn't seem to have any kind of input lag I guess cuz he set the ram to 10gigs (cuz he has 32). But he did a big mistake which was he set the storage to 100gigs and when it was finished he realized fortnite takes 84 gigs but the space left was only 81 gigs so yea. on 20:28, don't you need to hit NEW, to enable WINDOWS to create the neccesary partitions over that 64GB unallocated space? or is it the same if you hit next, it still creates the partitions?
I am not sure that it creates anything. I have seen people hit new, but it really doesn't make a difference. I would probably hit new if this was a computer instead of a VM.

This is absolutely amazing. My MacBook Pro 2019 wouldn’t work with the 64 bit version so I changed it to the 32 and works brilliantly. Thank you 🙏
really that's odd any ideas why? I am intrigued
@@georgecooper1753 no idea? I tried the 64 bit at first and it just kept crashing all the time and I was desperate to use windows as boot camp didn’t seem to work so went for the 32 bit and works just fine. It was a bit slow but it did the job 😀

thank you very much for your tutorial. really help me a lot for a newbie who wants to install w10 on mac with vbox.
your tutorial is completed.
A few important tips. By default the Windows screen resolution is extremely illegible. Therefore, set the scale to 200% (VirtualBox > Machine > Settings > Display > Scale Factor). Also, during the Windows installation, my Machine window kept disappearing. Clicking on "Show" did not help. This was resolved once the Windows installation finished. But until the Windows installation completed, I had to do the following to bring the machine window back into view and try not to tab away from it otherwise I'd have to start the Windows installation again or go back a few steps. The solution for me was this: VirtualBox > Machine > Right-Click > Close > Save State > Start. Finally, once Windows is installed, the "Device" menu for installing the Guest Additions is "inside" the machine, i.e. in the machine window's menu, not in the VirtualBox menu itself. I hope this helps.
OMG TYSMMMMMMM I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOREVER NOW!! TY TY TY TY !!!!

I can get to at most the point at 21 minutes in where you set up the region. For some reason it closes virtual box every time after that. Any idea how I can stop the crashing?
You probably need to add more ram or cpu. That is why I had to pause the screen recording. It was taking up too much cpu and causing the install to have errors. You can either add more ram or cpu in the settings or may be just close some more intensive applications on your Mac.
did you got it working?
