      The GPU arent good enough to power an 1440p panel especially on midrange one, and it depends on panel prices too, 1440p 144hz panel still cost a lot and require more power.

    Yo, dude! Re: the flickering - That's a known issue with Windows and display calibration profiles, for some reason. My Blade 15 Advanced did the same thing. I ended up deleting the default windows profiles and going with only the factory calibrated color profile. For some reason Windows was unloading and reloading the color profile any time a device was connected to usb (or bluetooth; it might be _any_ device)

    on judging how good a monitor is for content creation, I would really wish we move beyond color space coverage...what is really more important, is the deltaE, that is, the color accuracy. Most of OLED panels are over-saturated, so colors might pop for consumers, but not being true to life color, it is not reliable as a screen to create graphic content

    • @animeXL
      @animeXL 5 лет назад +1

      These are factory calibrated. They ship with a calibration report showing deltaE >1. If you disable the calibration profile, then yes the colors are quite oversaturated.

    @david1235102 5 лет назад +5

    I have the silver model with the OLED panel, i7-9750H, and 2070 Max-Q. I also experience the occasional, random screen flicker. I mainly notice it on areas that are showing a black or dark grey color. For me it is fairly minor, as I didn't notice it until almost a week into using it.
    Also, I've not experienced any wifi issues on any network. I've tried my home network, my friend's home network, my college's wifi, and the guest wifi at my work without any issues.
    Also, a side note for anyone who cares:
    I have a 160mV undervolt (-0.160V) running stably on mine (specs above). I know another RUclipsr that reviewed the new Aero 15 had a 180mV undervolt running stably but my computer crashed at idle at -0.175V.

    • @bradhaines3142
      @bradhaines3142 5 лет назад

      have you dont a stress test with the 160mv undervolt? crashing at 175 puts you awful close to the red line. itd be good to be sure. id suggest a CPU and GPU test to see how it handles struggling for power

    • @david1235102
      @david1235102 5 лет назад

      I have run the CPU stress test built into Intel XTU as well as Heaven benchmark on max settings at 4k resolution. I have not tried other stress test or benchmarking software yet.
      I haven't undervolted the GPU at all, just CPU.
      DISCLAIMER - anyone wishing to undervolt their own system does so at their own risk. My settings may not work for you and vice versa.
      EDIT: I ran Blender BMW and Classroom benchmark on the 160mV undervolt with no issues.

    I’m still considering buying the 4K oled model over the 240 hrtz . One because most games I play aren’t that competitive and are usually PvE. Two I crank up the graphics in those games so getting consistent FPS above 75 is a reach. Three when I play competitively I’m usually at a desk where I’d have a better high refresh rate monitor .

    • @animeXL
      @animeXL 5 лет назад +3

      I have one, the OLED display is incredible BUT it is incredibly reflective. I have to have the screen brightness over 60% at work to compensate. Mine measures close to 600 nits full brightness. At night is where the perfect black and immense contrast shine. Made playing Man of Medan significantly more immersive. I don't play competitive so higher refresh rates mean nothing to me on a laptop.

    Ok so first of all I love the quality of your videos. You have a very nice voice, and you speak clear for someone's like me, who is pretty bad at English.
    But, honestly, in every of your videos I have the feeling you never focus on the important points of the products. No flame intended. Just what I feel.
    You talk a lot about the camera which, honestly, most ppl don't care. A poweruser who will buy this kind of laptop also got a good phone, that sounds logical. Try to beat a note 10+ for visio with a laptop. None will. Every laptop has horrible camera. It's just if for some cosmic reason you can't use your phone or a real camera, which cost barely nothing today.
    Same for hp and other things. Most of your review seems to give negative thoughts on this laptop which get very good reviews everywhere else.
    I receive mine tomorrow (4k oled i7 10 gen 16 Go I will up to 32.)
    I made this choice after studying a lot all the possibilities, including XPS, Zenbook Pro etc etc.
    I will be fixed soon. But i regret you seem to focus a lot on things that doesn't matter on a poweruser who will purchase such beast.
    Anyway, thanks a lot for the review.

      @@chiefdog6909 It was a wonderful laptop, I upgraded the ram to 64 and added another Nvme, everything worked wonderfully, not even a single problem or crash. I did sell it one week ago for a M1 Mac tho.. The things that made me change for apple ?
      Apple was doing horribly for the last 10 years ( I am sorry but my aero was better than any intel mbp and I tested it, it is NOT a simple opinion, its a fact) but apple regain his noble letters by making his own cpu/gpu again, and its incredible (4* more battery. time, silent, powerfull and yet affordable, apple first good product since 5+ years). But I have nothing to say about the aero vs other intel laptop : its the best I ever had and he was destroying any competition in that regard. Its my opinion, but I still think camera and speakers and even trackpad (with is absolutely excellent on the aero) are the least important things on a laptop. What is important then ? the rest. The raw power, the screen, the keyboard, the ports (which are horrendous on the mbp btw, but its the only real flaw). Which is why I didn't like this review at all, when you buy such machine you care important things for your workflow imho. If you stick with window and don't care a lot of fan noise (or use a noise cancelation buds on a daily basis ) this Is a wonderful machine with a screen to die for. Sorry for the bad English, its not my native.

From this point I never had any issue with the wobbling, because for me, it simply doesn't. I don't get why this review was so biased but I guess the user simply didn't like the laptop. Because on window side, I never tried or had any better, even the Dell XPS series. I definitely miss a lot of things on my mbp M1 like the rbg key per key and the numbers key. He'll even the keyboard itself was better on the aero than the magic keyboard. The key travel and feeling and sound was just better. The screen of the mbp is no match for the incredible 4k oled. But... But
      If you unplug the aero it basically lose half of his raw power ( especially in 3d) , it makes a lot of noise and the battery time is so low ).
      If you :
      Plug your laptop all the time
      Don't care about noise
      Are a window user
      You simply won't find any better creativity laptop imho, and I owned and tried a shit load. And I won't even start about evolutivity and ports, because once again ,on this side , the aero crush absolutely everything else.

    My Spectre 15 with 4k touch screen has also problem with burning and it seems that other users have reported the same. And this laptop was bought long time ago. Are these panels related in any way? The good news in my case is that burning does come and go. Another common problem with Spectre panel is that if you run it at full brightness (too bright anyway), then sometimes when laptop comes from sleep, the picture is completely scrambled. Usually playing around with screen brightness will fix it, although there is a higher chance that it will come back with burnt picture. Does this laptop have the same issue?

      No the panels are not related at all. Completely different display technologies. He was saying he doesn't know if burn-in will present a problem for the long run.
      Samsung is the manufacturer for this panel (same tech as their AMOLED phone panels). They've said their testing has shown that burn-in should not be an issue.

    • @bradhaines3142
      @bradhaines3142 5 лет назад

      burn in is an issue with EVERY oled screen. doesnt matter who makes it.
      yes some last longer than others, but as long as its OLED it will eventually burn it. its a fundamental design defect, theres no testing it out. that's why samsung is putting R&D into micro- LED

    I have the Aero 15 OLED and I tested working on text in 4k and 1080p. It's not making a big difference, but 1080p on the Aero glossy destroys my XPS 15 matte 1080p, which has way too much anti-glare coating that makes characters blurry.
    So actually, a glossy 1080p would do the trick for me.

      @ageofbogyo intel does have a huge lead in laptops but their price isnt just cpu/gpus, mostly for R&D for the semi custom motherboards.
      intel maintains its lead in laptops on purpose, thats their highest volume sales by far, just like servers are highest margin. thats why AMD went for the server space. Intel knows its going to lose a bit of servers to EPYC which is why they doubled down on laptops to stay ahead before AMD catches up, so for AMD to catch up in laptops they'll need to get back on marketing so people stop thinking intel is best, but they cant do that til they actually are the best.
      intel has 6 and 8c CPUs in laptops where AMD is still stuck at 4. sure they should be able to do 8c when 7nm gets into laptops but that would be catching up, they'll have to at least match performance but improve on battery for intel at the same time. i think they could, but it wont be easy
