@@chiefdog6909 It was a wonderful laptop, I upgraded the ram to 64 and added another Nvme, everything worked wonderfully, not even a single problem or crash. I did sell it one week ago for a M1 Mac tho.. The things that made me change for apple ? Apple was doing horribly for the last 10 years ( I am sorry but my aero was better than any intel mbp and I tested it, it is NOT a simple opinion, its a fact) but apple regain his noble letters by making his own cpu/gpu again, and its incredible (4* more battery. time, silent, powerfull and yet affordable, apple first good product since 5+ years). But I have nothing to say about the aero vs other intel laptop : its the best I ever had and he was destroying any competition in that regard. Its my opinion, but I still think camera and speakers and even trackpad (with is absolutely excellent on the aero) are the least important things on a laptop. What is important then ? the rest. The raw power, the screen, the keyboard, the ports (which are horrendous on the mbp btw, but its the only real flaw). Which is why I didn't like this review at all, when you buy such machine you care important things for your workflow imho. Because on window side, I never tried or had any better, even the Dell XPS series. I definitely miss a lot of things on my mbp M1 like the rbg key per key and the numbers key. He'll even the keyboard itself was better on the aero than the magic keyboard. The key travel and feeling and sound was just better. The screen of the mbp is no match for the incredible 4k oled. But... But If you unplug the aero it basically lose half of his raw power ( especially in 3d) , it makes a lot of noise and the battery time is so low ). If you : Plug your laptop all the time Don't care about noise Are a window user You simply won't find any better creativity laptop imho, and I owned and tried a shit load. And I won't even start about evolutivity and ports, because once again ,on this side , the aero crush absolutely everything else.

The laptop is a great allrounder. But at least in my unit, I am having several software issues like, automatic changing of power mode, the headphone jack being finicky sometime and the taskbar automatically changing to small icons. I wish I knew what to do to fix these problems
Why are laptop makers so god damn set on 4K? If we have a 1080p 240 hz and 4K 60 hz, why cant we have a more useful option of 1440p 120 hz, but with better color reproduction (240hz panels are usually very bad at colors)
For me it would be essential to edit RAW files in Lightroom without lag and hickups. Is this even possible on any Windows Laptop in 2019? or do I need a Mac+old Lightroom version?
Do you think the wifi drops because that heatpipe runs so close to it and it causes the wifi to throttle? I had a ethernet switch sitting on top of my PS4 that would fail due to the heat and it took me a while to figure out what was going on.

My Spectre 15 with 4k touch screen has also problem with burning and it seems that other users have reported the same. And this laptop was bought long time ago. Are these panels related in any way? The good news in my case is that burning does come and go. Another common problem with Spectre panel is that if you run it at full brightness (too bright anyway), then sometimes when laptop comes from sleep, the picture is completely scrambled. Usually playing around with screen brightness will fix it, although there is a higher chance that it will come back with burnt picture. Does this laptop have the same issue?
No the panels are not related at all. Completely different display technologies. He was saying he doesn't know if burn-in will present a problem for the long run. Samsung is the manufacturer for this panel (same tech as their AMOLED phone panels). They've said their testing has shown that burn-in should not be an issue.
burn in is an issue with EVERY oled screen. doesnt matter who makes it. yes some last longer than others, but as long as its OLED it will eventually burn it. its a fundamental design defect, theres no testing it out. that's why samsung is putting R&D into micro- LED
I have the Aero 15 OLED and I tested working on text in 4k and 1080p. It's not making a big difference, but 1080p on the Aero glossy destroys my XPS 15 matte 1080p, which has way too much anti-glare coating that makes characters blurry. So actually, a glossy 1080p would do the trick for me.
But why is the IO section still looking uneven in terms of chassis width and, frankly, quite ugly? Why not try to make a more streamlined Razer-like chassis?
thats their design choice, aiming for the thin look. i own a 15x and fully agree with you that the razer looks way better. though I heard a lot of QC problems with razer so that and the price difference led me to gigabyte

@ageofbogyo intel does have a huge lead in laptops but their price isnt just cpu/gpus, mostly for R&D for the semi custom motherboards. intel maintains its lead in laptops on purpose, thats their highest volume sales by far, just like servers are highest margin. thats why AMD went for the server space. Intel knows its going to lose a bit of servers to EPYC which is why they doubled down on laptops to stay ahead before AMD catches up, so for AMD to catch up in laptops they'll need to get back on marketing so people stop thinking intel is best, but they cant do that til they actually are the best. intel has 6 and 8c CPUs in laptops where AMD is still stuck at 4. sure they should be able to do 8c when 7nm gets into laptops but that would be catching up, they'll have to at least match performance but improve on battery for intel at the same time. i think they could, but it wont be easy

I will be fixed soon. But i regret you seem to focus a lot on things that doesn't matter on a poweruser who will purchase such beast.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the review.
What are your thoughts after a year of the Gigabyte?
If you stick with window and don't care a lot of fan noise (or use a noise cancelation buds on a daily basis ) this Is a wonderful machine with a screen to die for. Sorry for the bad English, its not my native.
@@jeanyvescoffy8315thanks for that, that's helpful. May I ask, was the screen wobble as big of an issue as some reviews indicate?
@@chiefdog6909 well, I always put my laptop on a stand, which is a very good and stable one, and I always put my laptop and the stand on a stable table, I am a maniac, I will never put my stuff in danger. From this point I never had any issue with the wobbling, because for me, it simply doesn't. I don't get why this review was so biased but I guess the user simply didn't like the laptop. But... But
If you unplug the aero it basically lose half of his raw power ( especially in 3d) , it makes a lot of noise and the battery time is so low ).
If you :
Plug your laptop all the time
Don't care about noise
Are a window user
You simply won't find any better creativity laptop imho, and I owned and tried a shit load. And I won't even start about evolutivity and ports, because once again ,on this side , the aero crush absolutely everything else.
do you think it will be a good idea to replace that killer wifi by intel one?
If you are buying a GAMING laptop who gives a damn where the front facing camera is? I havent used one of those in years.
Agreed it's there in a pinch, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I've needed a webcam on a gaming laptop.
How do you think this New Aero 15 when compared with Asus Rog Gx502 ?
Can you review the Aero 17?
Good video, appreciate the thoughts, but next time please be more careful with writing in editing! The battery tests say secs instead of mins, I'm pretty sure based on your description the tags for each laptop in the oled vs. igzo shot is wrong, and there's probably a couple others I missed
It's crazy because on newegg this laptop with 16 gb ram, 512 ssd, 2070, i7 9750h costs 1300! :O
Any update on this laptop? I bite and bought one but people are scaring me about the fan being bad.
Are you sure you didn't have them labeled wrong in that quick side by side? cuuuuzzz the 1080 version definitely had darker blacks.
The laptop is a great allrounder. But at least in my unit, I am having several software issues like, automatic changing of power mode, the headphone jack being finicky sometime and the taskbar automatically changing to small icons. I wish I knew what to do to fix these problems
Did you solve the issue with the taskbar automatically changing to small Icons?
@@anhipham nope
@@anhipham it fixed itself. now i am having trouble with my gpu fan. sometime it starts to sound like a buzzsaw
@HardwareCanucks It's been 5 months after this video was made. So, now do you find any "BURN IN" in the display? Also, any other problems?
Why are laptop makers so god damn set on 4K? If we have a 1080p 240 hz and 4K 60 hz, why cant we have a more useful option of 1440p 120 hz, but with better color reproduction (240hz panels are usually very bad at colors)
Marketing buzzword I guess
Frustrating
The biggest issue with this model and line is *throttling* I was thinking to get one, but after reading reviews on amazon i passed on it.
Undervolt -150 with XTu
Does the IGZO 1080p screen reach ~99% sRGB and AdobeRGB too?
Between this model (240hz IGZO) and the Aero Classic (144hz or 4k IPS), what do you recommend? (For play and work a little like Graphic Designer)
I saw the 2070 variety on NewEgg in a black Friday flash sail for $1800. And yes it was the OLED model
I had a ethernet switch sitting on top of my PS4 that would fail due to the heat and it took me a while to figure out what was going on.
critics...... what about those flex about the screen?? as if while using the laptop your going to play with the screen and keep flexing it???
Aero 15 vs eluktronic mag 15 vs Razer vs zephyrus S g502
Hi is there problem with temperature and is cooling fan working good??
I own this laptop. It has serious fan issue. Fans are starting creating noise after 1 month use. Gigabyte customer support is very slow. They told me it will take 1 month to repair the issue. Got a very bad experience. Don't buy it
The front grill sucks in air dude. Did you even read the manual? or look on the specs page?
So why can't i just hook up the computer to an external 144hz monitor?
Wifi Card is broken as far as I am concerned. Any recs for different card for the Aero 15 OLED model?
Do Gigabyte only put Killer wifi cards in American Aero 15’s? My Aero 15 has an Intel card. I’m in the UK.
What site did you purchase yours from?
I'm in France and i think that my aero has Intel card ? I pourchased this on Top achat
You can get the Killer AX1650 for $25-35 from Amazon or Ebay and swap it out.
If you have the Intel AX200 then don't bother as they're the same part.
@@MorpheusLoopYMCMB Got it from Amazon.
dunno. my 15x v8 had an intel 8265 in it. so i think not
I wish they'd stop offering 1080p high refresh rate monitors on laptops and go to 1440p.
I don't care even slightly about a competitive edge, I play adventure games like cyberpunk. Would my games look better on the 4k oled over the 1080p 240hz?
Gpu depends. If you have a good gpu, than 4k would look beautiful
For those of you that want performance, don't let the 2070MQ fool you, ray tracing aside, it has the same performance as the 1660ti. Only benefit of the 2070MQ is slightly lower power consumption...
I was under the impression that this display wasn't good for content creators because it didn't have enough power for all the pixels
I think the newer body help with the ventilation for the cpu and gpu, the older one has some thermal problem.
Wouldn't an 2.5K res OLED look the same as the 4K one at the same 15 inch panel?
Ask yourself that question and see if that makes sense.
@@jvnsgrd
The same screen size, but at 2.5K.
Got it now?
there is probably not a big difference. 1440p Displays consume less power and you get more fps. But manufacturers nowadays only use 1080p or 4k
I bought the gigabyte aero 15 x9 rtx 2070 around 3 days ago , I worked on 3d modeling and rendering but I think it has some issues, like the control center dose’nt open when i choose the fusion, I don’t know it will be solved or makes problem after a period ?! Do you think it is better to refund it ?
Is it a problem when gaming and lowering resolution? Indeed some issues like 1920x1200 showing as a square with 4k monitors. Had to mess with system properties dpi to fix
Have you looked at it with the new 10th gen I7 ?
Hi i have questions Will I see any problems with heat when playing any game on ultra or high??
...THANK YOU! ...which Laptop would could you recomment for 4k Videoediting / Rendering with a 400-500 nit (cd/m²) Display for outdoor sunlight? A Notebook which is also usable in TROPIC Areas like Malaysia, Philipines or PapuaNG?

Please review the Acer ConceptD 7with RTX 2060 and comparing it with the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED 😁
acer conceptD is the best for editing 4k or 8k video on adobe premier...but for gaming.. it is not good
My Spectre 15 with 4k touch screen has also problem with burning and it seems that other users have reported the same.
Haven't experienced that so far
Hello! Does the motherboard of this laptop (aero oled 15 kc i7-10870h and RTX 3060 6GB) support PCIe Gen4 x4?
Hi
I bought Aero 15 Oled and i am very happy , but i have a question for you. I want to buy a screen 32 maybe samsung and i thinking in 144hz, can I have good results with 144hz to play games on it or still gonna be 60hz even with this screen ?
Yup, you're on the right track.
great, thorough review. lets see some more reviews for laptops
Did someone with THIS laptop noticed that when you unplug it (battery only), the CONTROL CENTER no longer opens??
Does anybody have a solution to this??
Gigabyte are aware of the issue and will fix it in the upcoming Control Center update. Talked to their support about it, that was their response.
You have to use alt+tab, as it's still open but won't go in the foreground otherwise
· I had to change it because it had a screen problem. But when the new one arrives I’m gonna give it a try!! Thanks!! 🙏🏽
If you put 200% display scaling aren't you losing your sharp?
How is color accuracy? In terms of Delta, gray levels etc.
Just google them lmao
@@watachinao5045 lmao He should have mentioned that when talking about the screen, but unfortunately most reviews don't. I know some do, but the more sources on it the better
did you deinstall you killercontrol stuff ? you can run also without killer stuff with wlan
is there any benefith in deinstall it?
Also got the Aero 15 OLED and having wifi connection issues, can't play games because it keeps dropping out :/
Hi i won't ask about this laptop is this model gigabyte aero 15 oled xa-9us5130sp 15 is this displays screen Shine like glass??
10:54 how can that happen? The Omen X 2S was outscored by Aero i7 version by 12 minutes more...(?)
The Aero has some special content creator drivers, which use the GPU better.
In version 9750h 1660ti 16gb ram can you edit large videos in 4k?
Could you, or anyone else, please tell me which of the ROG Zehpyrus GX502 are the top editions? I don't really understand which are 'best' and what the differences are. I keep being in doubt which laptop to buy since I'm way too new to this and way too perfectionistic😅. I will be using it for content creation but also for future designing and I want to be able to game on high(er) settings when I wish to. I know this is what most people want but there's the Zephy GX502, the Aero, Razer, Alienwares, Helios etc etc. I do love a whitish version though.. any thoughts? I just want to be able to finally decide now and don't really think about it anymore🤷♂️😂
Hi i won't ask about display this laptop ho much response time can do
I bought the 4k OLED model. The taskbar for some reason changes to small icon sometimes randomly.
Frank Hua I have the same problem, it’s driving me nuts
Did you solve the issue with the taskbar changing to small Icons ramdomly? Changing it in the registry Editor is possible but won't work when reboot
@@anhipham Mmm no, I change it every time. I believe is a bug from Windows when you are connected with your Microsoft account. They have some sort of Cloud save of preferences and I think that specific options is missing or something. It happens with the taskbar height too in my case, that I use double.
@@SebasNights Please let us know if you find a way to resolve
Hi is this display screen support
Ultra Low Motion Blur
Can anyone explain in a video which AI mode to use n what do they mean??
The Killer 1650x is a rebranded Intel AX200. Exact same hardware. Disable the Killer optimizations and you'll likely have a better experience.
I'm sorry for $3000 this thing better have it all, no compromise
The screen flickering that you mentioned I am having the same issue on Razer Blade 15 OLED
any of you have color haze over the screen and also small nano black dot everywhere ? i just asked a refund for lenovo for this.. they sell us DUDS oled monitors these as. sholle
the new design is future as fuck- got one bymyself- with gtx 2060 16 gb- can i ask you if you got also this stuttering in 4k gaming? i mean i can game everything fine in midle to high mix option setting gut i bot often stutter for 1 or 2 sekonds when the game load or so but ingame- does this also have the 2070maxq with 16 gb couse you got 2 gb more-i think about giving my one back and upgrade for 200 euros to the 2070 max q cause of the 2 gb more-but in the end im really happy with the lappi its future- but the upgrade thin is inmy head man
The best laptop for money you can get period. For 2 grand at Best Buy you get a 4K OLED display and a RTX 2070 max Q. Next closest option is from Alienware and it a thousand dollars more.
I don't give a shit about camera placement I am just happy it has one and a privacy cover.
Since amd have 7nm....will there be ryzen and navi laptops? And when will there be 7nm io
there are ryzen laptops already, but 7nm wont be until maybe july next year. the APUs tend to be a year behind (and always a generation, so zen 2 being in 3000, wont be until 4000 series APUs)
I think they did the camera on purpose just cuz they know people would use a separate camera? I'm debating between this the acer and the asus duo 😍 that dual screen looks 🔥
How can I configure RGB on my aero 15 oled 4k????????? I dont know, plis
